You know what this homebrew contest has given us in spades? Classic PC platformer ports. Prince of Persia, Flashback, Another World (and its less known sequel) and now, courtesy of developer usineur we also get Bermuda Syndrome. Not that I’m complaining mind you, since I’m a *** for platformers and those games seems to translate more easily into the console control scheme than something like, let’s say… Starcraft. I have to admit however, that I did had not known of this game’s existence until now and that I had to research this before actually writing this. Nonetheless, it’s great that usineur has graced the Vita with another game port for us to enjoy and that with each passing week the Vita scene seems to be thriving more and more with releases from all angles, whether it is translations or game ports.
What is Bermuda Syndrome?
Bermuda Syndrome is a game released on PC back in 1995, developed by Century Interactive and that was created in a style very close to that of games like Flashback and Another World. Upon its release, the game was praised highly for its beautiful scenarios while its adventuring was received with a more mixed reaction. That notwithstanding, the game was reverse engineered in 2007 by Gregory Montoir, who is also known for doing the same to Flashback and its sequel Fade to Black. Now thanks to Vita developer usineur we get to play this on our portable consoles as well.

Due to the fact that we are unsure if we can link directly to the game data that the developer links to, we’ll have to ask you to get it from his original instructions since legally we are unsure about our ability to link to them here. However if you come up with any issues or problems you’d like the developer to look into, do so here.
