Application Storage Manager v0.01, use that ur:0 extra space!
There have been a few developments in the scene over the past week as you may be aware of: TheFloW announced more PSPemu stuff and 3DS got some more stability (TM). One thing we didn’t report on however, since we thought it wouldn’t amount to much in the long run, was that users found out that the PS Vita has 2,5GB of internal space on 1000 models and 1,5GB for 2000 models contained inside the ur0: partition. It is likely this is used by downloads and patches so we assumed it was better to probably not report since it is a system partition and bad things happen when people who don’t know what they are doing mess with system partitions. Consider this your warning.
This however hasn’t stopped developer Lupo511 from developing a tool that allows you to move your applications to this newly found internal memory. It is still very handy to be able to do this, but remember you should be careful when doing this. The application edits your app.db file and makes the necessary edits to make sure they work from the new location. However, a warning comes from the developer himself:
Keep in mind that this hasn’t been 100% tested and some apps MIGHT not work when moved to the internal storage. I’ve only tested it with homebrews and not with games. I take no responsibility for any harm this might do to your console.
What is Application Storage Manager?
Application Storage Manager is an application developed by wololo forums user Lupo511 that allows you to move homebrew applications and games to the free space contained within the ur0: partition of your PS Vita. It also does the necessary editing to your app.db file to make sure that the newly moved applications’ bubbles on your live area keep working no problem. As with anything that messes with internal partitions, don’t use it unless you are confident of what you are doing. Neither we or the developer take any responsibility for harm that comes to your consoles. Future versions of this application will come with a GUI.
Changelog/Features Application Storage Manager v0.01
It basically does the following:
– Copy the files from ux0:/app/<TITLE_ID> to ur0:/app/<TITLE_ID>
– Modify the app.db to point the bubble at the new location
– Delete the old files if everything went correctly
How-to Use Application Storage Manager
Use DPAD UP and DPAD DOWN to change the selected option- Use X to select/confirm
- Use O to go back/cancel
The confirm button will be binded to X even if your console uses the O-to-confirm bindings because I had some problems while trying to check the actual system confirm button. I’ll make it work as intended once I fix it.It’s an unsafe homebrew because it needs access to the whole filesystem (ux0:app/, ur0:app/, ur0:shell/db/). The source is also linked below, so you may build from source if you want.

Take care when using this and happy experimenting if you are going to use this!

Fist!!!!
I have to admit you guys have been working hard being first.
Ohhh M you’ve done it again
Ah MAN I though you died in a fire.
No, he was the first out.. kkkkkkk
I wonder if the space will someday find that it is used by something? hmm
Yes, OS needs to use ur0 too. For instance, ur0:/appmeta stores meta data (icon, live area data, etc.) of installed apps/games. So leave some free space there.
Nice
maybe it can be useful to store the vpk file and then we can delete it after its installed.
Games won’t work because they are hardcoded to use current partition for saving and OS doesn’t allow them to create saves files in ur0:/user/00/save.
For example, “Mutant Mudds Deluxe” gets stuck in the “Can’t create save file” & repeated retry cycles if it’s moved to ur0 partition.
How about game cards?
Original PSV has 2.5Gb and newer PSV has 1.5Gb.
Sony moving internal space to the before-you-get-a-memory-stick space wow
Don’t have a slim but have the hackers managed to get that initial 1Gb back or is the 1Gb actually part of the 1.5Gb?
PSV 1k and 2k both have the same memory. Only the 2K has 1GB of that to be used as memory if there’s no card, while the 1K does not.
Hope this leads to the ps vits being able to store data on usb drives. Shouldnt be hard to make an adapter for the 1000model since all you have to do is solder a few pins of a usb to the cables.
I mean hopefullythey will make something like the brazilian usb loader for the vita
Ps vita dosen’t need a adapter. You can just get a otg cable.
pch 100 models doesnt have micro usb.
But the 2k have!)
thanks, but the font is so small i can barely able to read anything
I just bought a 32GB Sony card, so I don’t have this problem!
If you moved game (vitamin dumped) to ur0 it doesn’t work. You allways get error code if you try to run that game from ur0
It does that for some games. If you try a game like Nuclear Throne or Risk of Rain, it will work, but there won’t find your memory card to save to.
I have a 8gb. Just looking forward to the adrenaline release so i can play my psp games on it. Mainly dissidia012 and khbbs
I am waiting too! *.* So I can play Vita and PSP games in the same console. I sold my old PSP
Only reason why mine isnt on the shelves in some closet is henkaku and adrenLine
There’s a lot of potential with this app. We could really use those extra memory space in our PS Vita units.
This game application dose not show all games that insttaled in my vita because my game list is too long.
If we can not move vita game and hombrow to that partitoin so whay we can use this application for
very cool . i have a 64gb and i can use that space for some of those oversized psx games.. or just roms in general..hmm…
How much space is available on the ur0: partition of the PSTV?
I just checked my PSTV, 1.5GB.
maybe this will lead to USB storage on PSTV in the Future?
Hey Guys Thanks for the work
I moved Molecular Shell, Offline Installer and Other Hacks to Internal memory just to see and it created errors in Henkaku activation so dont try this at home
the problem was moving molecular shell, since you need that to trigger henkaku, just use that same memory card with another device (I used ps tv) in order to install molecular shell once more, then in the original device psvita etc, put the memory card, and enter to henkaku use the app again so you can move the original molecullar shell to the memory card and the other app if you want to (offline installer, etc)
DO NOT TRANSFER MOLECULAR SHELL! If you like me did this and broke your jailbreak you can still activate it nd re launch molecular shell however you cannot activate unsafe mode The solution to this is ro rebuild your database in safe mode then delete molicular shell Next you install henkaku activate unsafe mode then move your homebrew back to /ux0:/app/ then rebuild your database again poof your apps have been fixed!
