NDS emulator on PS Vita: DeSmuME released for PS Vita
The good releases keep pouring in for all Vita users after the recent release of HENkaku for the latest PS Vita firmware 3.60. Developer MasterFeizz released a port of DeSmuME, the NDS emulator, for the PS Vita.
NDS Emulator for PS Vita – what to expect from DeSmuME at this point
This is a very early build, so don’t expect miracles just yet. Users are reporting a lot of black screens, crashes, and the few games that are working are running at 1 to 5 fps at the moment. Also, the size of the emulated screen is… well, check the screenshot below. but hey, the only way is up!
MasterFeizz mentions that this is a port straight from his 3DS port, which explains why it is not optimized at all for the moment. But if you want to be part of history and try the first steps of NDS emulation on the PS vita, hit the download link below.
Note: incidentally, Vita developer Xerpi also started working on a port of DeSmuME, so technically we get two releases for the price of one. Here’s to hoping that the two devs will work together on improving a common version 🙂

You will need a PS Vita running on firmware 3.60 with HENkaku to install these files. To Install HENkaku check our PS Vita CFW page.
You can download DeSmuME for PS Vita on the developer’s github here.
Xerpi’s version can be downloaded here.

You guys are kicking B-hind!
IT’S HAPPENING!!!!!!
I’ve wanted this since Rejuvenate because I can get most of the other things emulated on my 3ds. I really hope they can get it to run well.
omg already???? UAHHUAS u guys rock
Any chance HENkaku is being looked at for 3.51 FW?????Not ready to lose my ARK ability just yet. Dont want to do anything that might mess everything up or limit what I can run. The 1 big reason why I want to keep it, is I can run the Homebrew/Hacked Roms for the Modified Versions of CPS1PSP, CPS2PSP and MVSPSP.
No, a port of HENkaku to a lower firmware is not coming any time soon. Yifan has already stated that it’s a very low priority for them, and that should it happen you shouldn’t expect it for another year.
Your options are to stay where you are, or upgrade and grab a new PSP kernel exploit once it’s released.
For what it’s worth TheZ mentioned in one of his articles that TN-V/ARK was going to become outdated in a few weeks, so there’s probably ARK or TN-V (haha) or something similar to Henkaku soon.
Until then if you have tnv/ark dont update just for this. Save the fw update somewhere else for later. Unless you don’t care about tnv/ark lol
This is what i was looking for all these years
Sony must be going berzerk!!
You guys have rocked their shi# out!
Keep em coming!
It’s a start 🙂
i INSTALLED APK with molecule and File Zila !! but it dont work!! when i tap it open and close after few seconds

Same problem! glad but sad that i’m not the only one :/
I’ll repost from GBAtemp to here so I can keep an eye out for new comments…

Um… wut?
It’s a bit tiny so we’d need screen scaling etc but wow, some sort of DS emulator on the Vita! Impressed.
Personally what I always thought would work quite well is not have the screens on top of each other unless you’re running portrait mode. Have them side by side and scale – both screens are 256×192 @ 4:3 aspect so putting them side by side we could scale each to 480×360 @ 16:12 with slight letterboxing top and bottom to retain proportions and fit to width of Vita screen. You could take the Wii U Virtual Console approach and have the main screen bigger than the bottom but personally, I’d go with the side by side scaled option
man, i find it crazy how the 3ds has a built in way to play ds games and nobodies cracked it yet, but someone found a way to get it running on the Vita..
I want to know how to keep my emulators updated and how to re install them if is needed.
Sorry to ask, but how do I install this? I don’t see the usual vpk file like the others here.
