[Insert here name of some deity] knows that I tried really hard to constantly refresh the Amazon Playstation VR page on Tuesday to get a chance at preordering the Playstation VR launch bundle. Sadly, by the time I actually saw the “add to cart” button on the page, the sale was already over. I’m sure I’m not the only one who ran through that frustrating experience, and, although the bundle preorders might still be available in some other stores, I’d rather get it from Amazon.

Well, lucky me, and probably lucky you if you’re reading this, Amazon announced they will have more Playstation VR launch bundles for preorder on Thursday 3/24 at 2pm PST. That’s tomorrow (well, ok, depending on when you read this. Maybe you’re reading this in 2017, in which case I’m sorry to tell you you missed out on the preorder sale). They say:

Additional VR Availability: Good news! We’ve received additional allocation of the PlayStation VR Launch Bundle, and it will become available to pre-order again starting Thursday March 24, at 2:00 PM PST. Quantities are still limited so please act quickly for your best chance at reserving your PlayStation VR.

Note that there will be also be a preorder event for the core set next week, but my strategy is still to try and get the launch bundle preorder, then potentially cancel it only if I can get my hands on the headset alone.

Preordering might be the only way to ensure you’ll get a Playstation VR at launch day. I’m usually not a big fan of preorders, but with hardware I’d rather not take any chances. If demand is high, there’s a risk only preorders will make it in time for the launch.
