The latest Uncharted 4 trailer is blowing my mind
I rarely talk about video games on the blog, we tend to focus more on the hacking side of the force. But I’ll make an exception here because I’ve been a huge fan of the Uncharted franchise (and of The Last of Us too, of course… who isn’t?).
Naughty Dog released a new trailer for Uncharted 4 (video below), and it looks amazing. Although I’m sure the Uncharted formula is not going to dramatically change with this PS4 release (mix of platform, easy puzzles, shooting bad guys, and lots of cool cinematics), I can’t help but know I’m going to like the game.
Uncharted is set to release on April 27th this year. I’m still on the fence for preordering it (as a Prime Member on Amazon I can preorder Uncharted 4 for 20% off), but I have to say after The Last Of Us and Uncharted 3, Naughty Dog are one of these companies I’m willing to blindly throw my money at, just because I know they’ll deliver.
I know Uncharted is heavily scripted, and that’s not for everyone. To me there’s a fine balance between blowing up my mind with cool cinematic sequences, and getting me totally bored because I feel I’m just watching a non-interactive technical demo, borderline boring movie (*cough* MGS 4 *cough*). For me, Uncharted is treading that fuzzy line. And in all honesty I found that The Last Of Us was much more balanced in that aspect, but I still love Uncharted.
Overheard in a discussion between teenagers recently:
– “What’s Uncharted?”
– “Well it’s like Tomb Raider except the main character is a dude”.
– “Oh, you mean it’s like Indiana Jones, then?”
– “What’s Indiana Jones?”
No, OK, I made that up.
Naughty Dog’s games always managed to get the best out of the PS3’s CPU/GPU, and I’m really excited to see what they’ll do with the PS4. If anything, the new trailer looks like we won’t be disappointed.

Defo gonna be a must have for ps4 owners, the franchise as a whole has being excellent each game outdid the last and I expect nothing less with Uncharted 4. It doesn’t bother me that it’s heavily scripted because it’s done extremely well and sure the games offer less interaction then most games these days, but sometimes it’s nice playing a game that doesn’t require u making a million and one different choices to see a million and one different endings, it’s jus straight forward good guy vs bad guy with loads of stuff getting blown up in between cant go wrong there. My money is on Uncharted 4 coming out in April and putting everything else to shame.
Uncharted is a very solid pick all around the board. I wonder what ND will pursue after this. Kinda sad to see the series end, really.
already pre-ordered a Libertalia Collector’s Edition the day it became available for pre-order. can’t wait to get it.

I’m very sorry if I hurt your feelings fanboy but as I said based on the gameplay trailers it’s full of those scenarios where you’re not in control of your character and you just point and shoot, like that motorcycle chase scene on the gameplay trailer.

Well, I bought a PS4 2 months ago for this game(and all the future productions of Naughty Dog’s talented workers) and Rachet & Clank’s Reboot
The only Uncharted I’ve played any of is… whatever the Vita games is (I found a new cart on sale for $6, it’s the only Vita cart I own) and it’s distinctly meh. I don’t doubt it’s a good series of games but I just don’t give a *** about it.

I bought a PSvita and the corresponding uncharted game. After playing it for one hour, I decided to sell the system and the game, because everybody told me, it’s the best Vita game, and tbh I really found it bad. Had no fun with it at all. Even SMB 1 or Zelda I on NES is more fun.

I didn’t mind MGS4 cutscenes, and this is coming from a person who played all metal gears, sept for mgs2, 5 to 10 playthroughs each, and fully enjoying cutscenes for a majority of those reruns without skipping them. If we want to talk about something nothing but cutscenes I can just point at any Telltale game lol. I really am liking the look of Uncharted 4 as well, looks like a lot of fun to be had. May be the last one hm?
Hate to be the ghost at the feast, but this site has gone downhill. I say that as a constructive criticism, as someone who has followed the site for a fair few years. And the reason for it is simple: far too many Amazon adverts. I saw the headline and guessed it’d be in there somewhere, and yeah there it is. Fair enough if you wanna make a bit extra on the side but does it have to encroach on so many articles? I understand there isn’t much news RE vita hacks etc at the moment, but sometimes it looks like a stealth Amazon site.
Are there going to be a ps3 release?
Yes, the PS3 version is coming 3 months after the PS4 release. There’s gonna be a Ps Vita spin-off called Uncharted: Destiny Thieves
