The browser was updated on both O3DS and N3DS.

Ok guys grab your nuts and give a salute to the little japanese men behind the update.

  4. Vertex says:

Have to say, I’m surprised no ones done a basic writeup on the arm9loaderhax exploit recently released allowing true coldboot custom firmware and system brick recovery.

    • Frogg says:

Because AFAIK, it’s still risky, and requires a hardmod if you want to minimize the risk. Such things are not as accessible for the average user. I’m thinking of using this at some point though

      • dkabot says:

Technically, _anything_ requires a hardmod to minimize risk =P

The new OTP guide is pretty safe, the actual downgrade is done in EmuNAND and the flash to SysNAND is straightforward after. I’ve not heard any bricks from it (though some from A9LH installer itself, since everyone has to compile it)

As much as that gif proves your point it bothers me a little because it looks like it was originally kinda animal cruelty or something along those lines 🙁

  6. Doge says:

    Wow such stability much improvements.

3ds cfw piracy is amazing. I still buy most games but im so glad I pirated fire emblem fates special edition. No way im paying 99.99 for the game plus 40 dollars in dlc.

  8. Ashton says:

Well those stability fixes must be doing some awesome work since i never had any stability issues with 3ds.

  9. nakedfaerie says:

I’ve set up my N3DSXL so perfectly I never need to turn wireless on again so doesn’t matter what they do it wont ever bother me.
Do what I do everyone, set it up, turn wireless off and enjoy forever. When you turn wireless on and it connects thats when the problems start.

    Nintendo used Firmware Update.
It was not quite effective. :p

  12. Pirate Cat says:

Boy oh boy, stability updates! I don’t know why they even bother unless they actually add features since they don’t provide real changelogs.

  13. DarkenLX says:

    Hackers used HaXX.
    Homebrew access was identified.
    Nintendo used Firmware Update.
    It had little effect.
    Hackers used Payload Upgrade.
    Nintendo Became Confused.

  14. Hungrealoe says:

OK so the update was meant for actual firmware on sysnand and so anybody who gets a 3DS and has ofw passed 10.3 for now is done. So there shouldnt be celebration this pretty much like ps3 when you go passed 3.55 ofw your done unless you hardmod to get back to 3.55 but even then when tendo starts to make newer motherboards to prevent modding you better buy old versions of new 3ds and reg 3ds.

    • Manuel Eduardo Koegler says:

Actually it’s way better than the ps3’s situation. Once you’re past 3.55 you’re out of luck unless you let someone perform a $100 downgrade for you. On the 3DS we’ve been able to downgrade and use cfw’s at least 2 to 3 different instances over the course of the firmware cycle. Also, once you’ve obtained a certain homebrew entrypoint it has become pretty much unpatchable, and who wouldn’t like to have Oot 3D? Awesome game and awesome entrypoint, and still not patched, just like cubic ninja. So you’re pretty much guaranteed userland homebrew from every point onward, the ps3 doesn’t even have userland homebrew.

    *** nintendo

  16. DarkDante says:

I thought the title was a joke, but I set my 3DS down on a table, then turned my back and walked away. 15 minutes later I returned and the 3DS hadn’t moved! Stability success!

  17. RyoX says:

wonder when team gateway will patch it up, still waiting

  18. Wilfredo says:

omg this could be this best post ever i came back to read it a second time XD

  19. xvcChaos86 says:

Can you install ninjhax on a 10.6 n3ds?

  20. Asch-kun says:

Apparently sometime I accidentally updated so browserhax is now useless :/

  21. Cole says:

Is there a way to downgrade? or am I SOL

  22. Pich says:

So its partly patched, i most likely won’t even get close to gaining a copy of cubic ninja or smash, is there any “free” way of loading homebrew on 10.6??

  23. Russ Campbell says:

Is there any way of downgrading 10.6 yet ??? I would love to use Gateway 3.0 on my 3DS …………
Also does anyone have Gateway Ultra 3.41 Beta firmware ?????? Russ

[…] aliaspider released an ARM 11 exploit which can also be used for downgrading o3DS/n3DS on 10.4 to 10.6 firmwares to 9.2 golden firmware. Even though it isn’t 100% foolproof yet, lots of users reported […]
