Habib 4.78 Cobra 7.3 CFW released for PS3. Improves PS2 Games loading + bunch of other improvements
Habib 4.78 Cobra 7.3 is now available for PS3.
Earlier this week, Developer Joonie had announced that Habib and Mysis had been working on improving the popular PS3 CFW, in particular for PS2 iso loading.
PS2 isos are known for having some desync issues on the Ps3 when ran directly from the XMB. Habib and mysis have been able to fix this flaw in the latest release of the CFW, it seems.
Developer Habib just released this update, Habib 4.78 Cobra 7.3, on his youtube Channel.

Can I install this on my ps3? I have absolutely no knowledge on ps3 cfw but I’m looking to get into it, as my ps3 quit reading discs so I might have to try to make is on out of them to put on my flash drive.

Unfortunately to jailbreak you must be on 3.55 ofw or lower. You must also have the right model ps3 to. Superslims and 3k series slims aren’t hackable. You need an e3 hardware flasher to downgrade to 3.55. It’s not easy. I’d recommend using one of the many downgrade services available on the web.
Just search on eBay. It’s about $50 and just look for someone with a ton of positive feedback. I’ve had 2 or 3 downgraded to 3.55 with no issues. Not worth trying yourself.
I have to ask because I’m itching for PS3 homebrew but I lack the money to buy a PS3 with a cfw on it, is anyone working on a cfw that you can install on ofw > 3.55?
