3DS System Version 10.4.0-29 is now available
That’s right, Nintendo published the System Software 10.4.0-29 for the Nintendo 3DS! With this release they only improve the system stability (as always) which for us means they patched exploits with this firmware.
3DS hacker Smealum mentions not to update because Nintendo changed a lot in 10.4.0-29. For example they added a check for a few games: if the game has a update you must update it otherwise you can’t launch it, like the Hax game Ironfall. But if you update the game you lose the Exploit in it.
apparently nintendo made it so you can't launch games that have an update unless you update them on 10.4.

The good news: Smealum updated ninjhax which seems to work fine on 10.4.0-29. At the moment smealum can only test ninjhax but he still updated the other Hax payloads too. Unfortunately he isn’t sure if menuhax or n3ds browserhax still work.

Is it safe to update EmuNAND?
for o3ds it is safe on rxtools and reinand, for n3ds it is also safe on reinand so yup don’t worry 🙂 don’t forget to dump your emunand before the update just in case

Gateway or CFW ? Old 3ds or New 3ds ?
It also ruins gateways mutirom menu. It also doesn’t show my hyrule legends demo anymore.
Hopefully someone can let me know of the r4i 3ds cards work with this new update

The 10.4.0-29u does not break EUMnand on old 3ds. i have don the update myself when it came out last night RXtools handle the update just fine. The new 3ds on the other hand will work on gateway emunand , but as Mystic_Shadow it will break multirom Menu. Current Old 3ds runs 4.2.0-9U sysNAND Rxtools 10.4.0-29U. Reports from GBATEMP say ” REINAND is broken with this update for new 3ds,” some even reported old 3ds’ were broken on reiNAND.

Screw it I’ll update and try it myself. New 3ds xl hyrule edition with r4i 3ds card. I’ll post the results around 6 pm when i get off work
Does anyone else find it strange that they didn’t patch menuhax and browserhax as well?
Yeah i assume they are either too confident that users can no longer downgrade on 10.4 anymore or they simply tried to rush the update asap because piracy.

you are guys are killing the 3ds system. Sooner or later there won’t be games to be released because of this.
