PS Vita 3.55 ePSP hack: New exploited game revealed
Developer 173210 just revealed the name of the PSP game used for his latest exploit on PS Vita 3.55.
This comes mere hours after he announced he would release the exploit as a Christmas present to the scene. Remember, it is likely Sony will pull the game from the PSN by Monday, so if you’re interested in one of the ePSP hacks, get it now.
Important Update: People have reported that the game is actually not available on the PS Vita for the US. Although you can purchase the game if you try very hard, it will not accept to download and install on a PS Vita! The best way to be sure is to buy the game directly from your PS Vita. If it won’t let you, then it means it’s not compatible.
Important Update 2: 173210 has revealed later that he is unable to exploit the EU version of the game. This means the exploit is JP only!!! For people who have bought the EU version because of his announce, he stated he will release a way to create custom bubbles later.
By the way, I’ll give my bubbles you later if you have already bought MPO+ for the EU region.

The game is Metal Gear Solid Portable OPS Plus for EU/US (Metal Gear Solid Portable OPS in JP), and it’s available pretty much everywhere (EU/US/JP). Update: exploit has been confirmed to be available for JP only. 173210 mentions the game is currently on sale on the JP PSN.
In addition to announcing the game, 173210 released the VHBL config file to compile VHBL for this exploit. The VHBL config file itself is useless without the exploited savegame, which we can assume will be released later this week. 173210 is a trusted dev of the PS Vita scene, so this announce can be trusted. Get the game now if you want an ePSP exploit on your 3.55 PS Vita.
173210 has not clearly stated if he will release a VHBL port “only”, or an ARK or TN-V port as well. VHBL lets you run homebrews but no isos, while ARK and TN-V let you run PSP isos as well as plug-ins, in addition to PSP homebrews. Keep in mind that this exploit runs within the PSP emulator on the PS vita, and will not let you run native PS Vita homebrews.

Heads up: It seems that 173210-kun is having some difficulties on the US version of MPO+.

It is not removed, it is only available to download for PSP.
It’s not downloadable just to PSP. Download it to a PS3, then transfer over to your Vita. I had to do the same thing for Star Wars Battlefront II and the Aeris promo DLC for one of the Dissidia games. I know it doesn’t list PS3 as a downloadable source on the web page, but it will download. Look at Battlefront II and compare. I promise it works
In lights of recent events, I doubt that Sony would pull this one off the shelves quickly.

I’m pretty sure Portable Ops and Portable Ops Plus aren’t available for Vita in the US. I’ve wanted them on Vita for ages but they’ve only been available digitally for PSP for some reason. I think they are available for Vita in EU/JP, though.
Developer help sony get a lot of money from those old psp games. But I feel this exploited game already no meaning for us. Developer should focus to something else. Like psvita exploited game.

PlayStation Vita has died everyone goes to 3DS now since it is fully hacked especially when it becomes hacked without flashcards I myself keep PSVita away and now playing 3DS games until PSVita get revived. No need for this to play PSP games on PSVita which are emulated in too pixelated screen unlike PPSSPP app for Android it runs PSP games at FullHD no low resolution issues like on PSVita

For me it depends on which version. PEOPS under TN-V gives very choppy sound/video and slowdown, whereas TN-X gives top quality near perfect PS1 emulation because it exploits the PS1 Loader. With the advantage of fast forwarding and save states too!
Fpse is awesome on android 7 inch tablet good to go.
Don’t forget the DualShock controller if you want actual physical controls though 😉

I must admit, Sony and the third party affiliates have to love the fact that in order to do piracy you have to own (rent?) a legal game anyway, paid for. So they’re still getting your money if you want to play PSP backups because you have to have a legit PSP game first! Personally I still think it’s cheaper and easier to have two Vitas, one hacked for PS1/PSP backups and emulators etc and one just on whatever the most recent firmware is. Activated to the same PSN account they can share a lot of the paid for content anyway.
That aside, it would be nice to have TN-V on 3.55. Failing that I might just say f*** it and buy the handful of games I run through TN-V anyway… depends if the exploit works on EU MGSPO+ really. Time will tell ladies and gents. Time will tell.

Technically Acid is not a MGS game but a “Metal Gear” game. And Metal Gear Acid definitely isn’t the shittiest Metal Gear game. For most that honor goes to Metal Gear (NES)

Well this sucks. Hopefully there’s a new exploitable US game soon enough. Would totally just make an EU psn account on one memory card and keep my US account (with all my stuff) on another except I’d have to format my system each time. Not worth it. At least some people get to enjoy this which is nice.

No, on EU store is only for PSP. If you try with psvita you can’t downlod.

I am in EU and I bought and downloaded the game, no problem at all. In his latests tweets, the developer said he would not release the exploit due to technical issues, but later said he would release it for the EU version.

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops PLUS are 2 separate games. This might bring a lot of confusion since the article itself states that MGS PO is for JP while others need MGS PO+.

TNV funciona a la perfección guys.. En 3.55 actualmente última versión.. TN-V reproduce con sonido ARK no.. Sólo es necesario comprar Mimana Chronicle PSP GAME Yo personalmente compre el juego estando en 3.55 y active el exploit sin ningún tipo de problema.. Solo ejecuten el One menu desde TN-V y podrán disfrutar de Homebrews Emuladores Etc. Dejó esta info por si alguien no estaba al tanto.. Consulta alguien Sabe si es posible ejecutar un emulador de Dreamcast En Vita 3.55? Saludos 😛
