How to fix Backup loading in CFW Rebug 4.76.1 LITE

Hi guys! this little tutorial is regarding the CFW rebug 4.76.1 LITE for the PS3 CEX. I updated from CFW rebug 4.75 and found out that Rebug ToolBox 02.02.07 stopped showing the “Enable COBRA MODE” option, leaving me unable to play my games through any Backup Loader i tried. Hope i can help anyone having the same issue.
Requirements:
- A PS3 with OFW 3.55 or any CFW released before CFW 4.76 LITE. you can find all versions of CFW Rebug here
- Toolbox for Rebug 02.02.07 that also be found on the Rebug page.
Steps:
- Install CFW in your PS3 placing the PUP file you just downloaded, rename it PS3UPDAT.PUP and place it in a FAT32 formatted disc in the route “Your USB: PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP” and update via storage media or recovery (you should be familiar with this).
- Now, if you were using WeBMAN manager like myself you’ll find yourself unable to play your backups and the Toolbox you had in CFW 4.7x rebug now won’t show the option to enable COBRA mode (being now disabled by default in new versions of Rebug). All you have to do is to go the PKG installer and install “REBUG Toolbox 02.02.07 FULL” included in the update and overwrite any previous Toolbox.
- Go to the REBUG Toolbox 02.02.07, go to second column and Enable COBRA MODE and WeBMAN and restart your PS3 System.
- Go to WeBMAN and start any Backup of the games you legally own.
- Enjoy 😀
This little guide should help if you find yourself unable to correctly use the REBUG Toolbox everytime you update your CFW. If you have any question, please send your reply or DM me and we’ll help each other. Happy gaming!

Fist!!! pump in da air cause this looks awesome. Man I can’t wait for my E3 Flasher to come in the mail.
Please where is rebug 4.77?
Wow this won? You do know that Cobra isn’t enabled from the start for a reason? This has to be done with ANY Rebug install. They do this for all the folks that whine about having Cobra. This way they don’t have to make two firmwares. This “tutorial” comes with every download of the firmware. Simply reading the directions given by the devs yeilds the exact same results.
Another example of a Tutorial that should not be in the contest much less win.. This is common knowdlege for any REBUG user, I say common because well its clearly listed in the REBUG CFW release notes.
From Rebug.me website:
How to Enable Cobra Features:
—————————————————–
By default Cobra 7.1 is disabled, to enable the Cobra Features simply access the REBUG Toolbox.
INSTALL:
1: On the XMB select Package Manager
2: Select Install Package Files
3: Select PS3 System Storage
4: Select REBUG-TOOLBOX-02.02.07.pkg
5: Access Rebug Toolbox from XMB
6: Scroll to 2nd column Selector, and select 3rd option Toggle Cobra Mode
7: Select Enable, and system will reboot with Cobra now enabled on the CFW.

These are not new tutorials and not even a tutorial but basically information re-fromatted into a tut from the rebug release notes..
Somebody wasn’t paying attention when they gave this the monthly award.
You should have awarded the dev that updated the rebug into lite. You made a big mistake with the winner.
Hi guys. Yes, you all have the right to throw your opinions and I actually like how everyone care about the information shown here. What I want to add is that while it’s a really simple instruction and it’s shown on the README file, I came across people having the same issue even if it was that simple. I want to encourage everyone for more tutorials. The PS3 section of the forums have been all dusty, and if you can reply here I’m sure you can help others with knowledge that may not be so obvious for everyone as it is for yourselves. Let’s keep the forums alive and make some good tutorials!
