You are a prisoner at the Terminus Zone. An area in the Wastes abandoned by its governing officials the moment they learned that the Dead Star would go supernova. All that is left are the psychos, thieves, killers who now fight for control of the area.

What is Dead Star?

Dead Star combines elements of MOBAs, shoot em ups and twinstick shooters, resulting in a fast paced game of skill and strategy with space physics. All tightly packed in 5v5 or 10v10 online bullethell mayhem. Dead Star will have you piloting, mining and dogfighting in space for domination of outposts.  These outposts can be used as spawnpoints for one of the three spaceships in your active loadout

However once an outpost is under your control it isn’t yours forever, the enemy might have to same idea as you. Outposts can be upgraded for weaponized fortification by transferring mined ores to its location. These resources can be found in asteroids so big they can house an entire outpost or smaller ones floating through the vastness of space. Store enough ore to upgrade the outposts under your team’s control, intercept cargo or destroy enemy ships to earn experience points. In turn experience points can be used to upgrade your vessel, a necessity for survival in the dangerous and unpredictable wastes.

The maps in Dead Star will be procedurally generated asking players to adapt and devise strategies on the fly. A vote system at the start of a game determines in which region the match will take place. Then there is the augmentation system which lets players tinker with components and permanently improve their spaceships.

 PS4 Alpha test & giveaway

There is much more depth to find within Dead Star but why not test it yourself. The game is being developed by Armature Studios (best known for PS Vita versions of Metal Gear Solid HD collection and Injustice Gods Among Us) and has a release window of early 2016 for PS4 and PC.
