3DS System Update 10.2.0-28 is live
Nintendo pushed another firmware update to 3DS/3DS XL/2DS/New 3DS/New 3DS XL. This update patches themehax (the auto-booting exploit) and browserhax. Ninjhax, oothax and ironhax (if you have the old version of ironfall) still work fine. Tubehax and ironhax (for the new, 1.2 version of ironfall) were already patched recently.
Official changelog for 10.2.0-28 firmware is “Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience” just like the previous 10.1.0 firmware. Last firmware that actually included something other than stability update and exploit patching was 9.6.0.
It has also been confirmed that SKY3DS still works at 10.2.0-28 firmware. Also Gateway and RxTools emunand is working at 10.2.0-28 for Old 3DS. For New 3DS, latest supported emunand is still 9.5. Multi rom menu for Gateway works too.
Nintendo is patching the entry points one by one, it might be wiser to stay at 10.1.0 if you don’t have cubic ninja, Ocarina of Time or old version of ironfall. Also even if you have one of these entry points, you will lose themehax, the auto-booting exploit if you update to 10.2.0-28.
When they add nothi g importa t or exciting, its easy to ignore the updates thankfully.
It’s not even mandatory, unless you absolutely need the E-Shop. I can still go online with my gateway/rxtools hybrid o3ds with my Pokemon games.

That’s true. Hopefully hax 2.5 will allow eShop access on lower FW. I’ve been on 9.9 for a while. Since Smealum said that 2.5 will, directly quoted, “lets you do pretty much everything 9.2 users claim to want.” I won’t be updating though because I use themehax. I do have CN for emergencies though.
