If Nintendo does make a console stronger then the current generation, I would be happy to throw money at it.

God may have mercy on your poor delusional soul…

Jokes aside, Nintendo’s success has been due to their genious game developers, their games are great but other than that their hardware is always lagging behind the competition, if you really think they are coming with a superior hardware than the PS4/XBOXONE you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

I can’t wait to see what Nintendo is cooking up. Have not been to happy with them sense GameCube. I feel like they have been holding themselves back with the last two systems they put out. They have been in the game long enough to know what works and what don’t.

  4. lmao says:

still no third party support so who cares,

    • TehCupcakes says:

The lack of 3rd-party support with the Wii and Wii U was largely due to their significantly reduced power and unique control mechanisms. Assuming the NX really is more powerful than the current gen and it supports a “standard” control, lots of companies will be more willing to port games to it. It takes considerably less energy to port a game if you don’t have to reduce its quality to make it run.

btw “come with powerful chips” does not translate to “the most powerful chips”.

      If it’s a:
PowerPC -> no third party support
Intel -> no way, it will make the device expensive as f***.
ARM -> no way, not even classified as a powerful chip, even PS4 has ARM chip as sub-processor.
AMD -> i guess this one is the most possible
      For GPU:
There’s no choice except AMD, aside Nvidia not really interested in console market, their chips are very expensive.

Nintendo has never really been known to make the best choices in the gaming market as far as hardware…..they never were the most powerful (with the exception of the GameCube having the most powerful hardware when compared to PS2 and Xbox, but the poor decision to use those tiny DVDs is what really hurt it). Even going back to the NES, the Master System had more powerful hardware….The SNES was a bit more powerful than the Genesis (which, it should have been since it came later)…with the N64, they made the bad choice of using cartridges. Already talked about the GameCube, but with the Wii, it had some nice games, but the console was very under-powered and wasn’t an HD console like the PS3 and Xbox 360, even though the Xbox 360 was released a year EARLIER than the Wii….Poor marketing hurt the Wii U and lack of 3rd party games..oh and lack of power, but at least Nintendo gave players HD gaming for the first time. Nintendo NX should have no problem being MORE powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One given the fact that the current gen systems are “standard” computer systems under the hood with some proprietary software (which is why I am shocked that they don’t have emulators for them yet)…with the way computer hardware advances in just a year or two, it shouldn’t be a problem for Nintendo to make a more powerful system than PS4 and Xbox One, especially considering, their hardware was already dated at release!. However, Nintendo just needs to steer away from trying to be different from the others….don’t try to sell gimmicks….we don’t need motion controls, we don’t need a controller with a screen in it. Give us a good solid comfortable controller and great titles, that’s what gamers want! Nintendo NAILED the controller with the SNES and even to this day, consoles are using that basic design (4 face buttons, D-pad and shoulder buttons) and building on it. Nintendo also to get some strong 3rd party support…..with these DevKits, companies will be aware of what the NX will be capable of and I really hope Nintendo can sell these systems….I do plan to buy one, even if its $300-$400….I already have the money set back for it…

I wonder how is it going to work if it also have mobile. Maybe it uses two highly clocked ARM chips?

  8. EJ says:

I’ve not quite trusted Nintendo since the Wii, maybe even a little before with the Gamecube, but at least that had a decent controller with real controls unlike the Wii. The whole DS thing kind of threw me off as well, I never understood the whole 2 screen thing, and still don’t really even though I have a 3DS, which I hate using the other screen, but I manage and they fixed most games to just use it like a regular Gameboy Advance now a days anyway. The Wii U I passed on completely, so I hope this will be the one to truly bring me back to Nintendo’s side again. I’ve missed some of the franchises.
