3DS HomeMenuHax Release and Autoboot CFW
Developer yellows8 released HomeMenuHax which is the fastest (and probably easiest) method to boot homebrew so far. It works on firmwares from 9.0 to latest firmware 10.1. It can also be used to autoboot CFW if you have a 9.0-9.2 3DS/New 3DS.
3DS scene is full of hax, ninjhax, ironhax, youtubehax and now HomeMenuHax which is above all of them in my opinion. HomeMenuHax uses a vulnerability in theme loading. This way, it can take you to homebrew boot screen during the inital home menu loading just by holding the L trigger (it is customizable, even no button hold is possible). HomeMenuHax is fully capable of doing what ninjhax, ironhax and youtubehax can do. To install it, you need a vulnerability first, you can use the browserhax which still works in latest 10.1 firmware.
Due to the nature of HomeMenuHax, it needs a firmware with theme support, themes were introduced in 9.0.0-X on Old3DS, v8.1 on New3DS. and 9.1.0-XJ on Old3DS JPN. Unfortunately you can’t use themes with this hack as it messes with loading the hack.
As if fastest and easiest homebrew booting isn’t enough, developer delebile at GBATEMP ported Brahma to Ninjhax 2 (and all other haxes including HomeMenuHax). This means if you have a device between 9.0-9.2 firmwares, you can autoboot your favourite CFW with HomeMenuHax. No more need for cubic ninja cartridge, using browser for the hack or even MSET(DS profile exploit). This is by far the fastest CFW booting method available.

Soooooo …Ninjhax is old and useless and I should update my 3DS or what is it mean?
Don’t update your 3DS, this means you can boot your homebrew menu directly from home screen, no need for a cubic ninja cartridge.
Generally it’s dumb to update, sure I know.
But when I get the same result with this hack, is it wrong to think that the latest firmware brings better system software? 😛

I’m now rethinking if I should have got a 3DS instead of a vita for homebrew….
Vita is much better at this point in time. Most 3ds homebrew cannot use Dynarc, so they can be laggy.
Emulators on the Vita are better. And with that OLED screen they look better too.
OLED screens are the best.

I don’t think you’ve even tried the 3DS emulators. Most of the RetroArch emulators are full speed, even on the latest firmwares.
Actually all emulators only run fast on N3DS. @Teampleb, you should give some research before sharing incorrect information.
How is that incorrect information? You just said yourself that they run full speed on n3DS… Is that not a 3DS?

Most of the CFWs support DSiWare, so yes.

This is nice!! Ninjhax 2.5 is coming out soon, bundled with the new RegionFive once it’s done. It’ll also support MUCH more RAM for homebrew developers, while eShop and title launching support. The Homebrew Launcher could eventually replace the stock FW entirely! The 3DS community is getting a LOT of treatment nowadays!
So wait, does this require a flash cart or no? Everything is stored & launched from the SD card?
No it does not require a flash cart.
But u cannot play .3ds or .3dz files.
Only .CIA files can be installed. And using Gateway is the easiest way to install CIA files.
Wrong. RxTools is the easiest. It even has an option to install a cia manager over the health&safety app to use on emunand and sysnand (9.2 or lower).
Ive tried with RXtools. Yes it has that option. But its not all that easy. And FBI sucks. :p
Its completely sc*** up my 3DS. nothing launches so trying to find out how to uninstall it so I can have it normal again.
Why not just do a format? And try new SD cards?

The n3ds is superior to the vita when playing emulators. No more arguments.

Nice news, but I was looking for a DSi hack v1.45, I know the scene is dead and everyone moved to next gen, but hey I have system that is technically useless. I live in Ukraine and its kinda hard to buy a r4 due to the fact they do not ship them here. So what I want to is to ask is there a hack like this for DSi! Thanks in advance =)
The problem, I can´t get to find firmwares for 3DS, 3DNUS does not work anymore. So my Sysnand is 5.1 and Emunand is 10.1.0-27U. Please, where can I find the firmware 9.0 for example?
