PS4 Remote Play unofficial Android port updated to support PS4 3.0 Firmware
Developer Twisted89 has released a temporary fix of his unofficial PS4 Remote Play App for Android, in order to support the latest Firmware for PS4 (PS4 3.0 System Update).
Twisted89 emphasizes that this is a temporary fix based on a former release. It has all the basic features of the last release, but not all the functionality of the latest and greatest version. Nevertheless, this will come in handy for those of us who updated to Firmware 3.0 on the PS4.
What is PS4 Remote Play for android?
PS4 Remote Play for android is an unofficial mod of sony’s official Remote Play functionality. It basically lets you use the PS4 remote play functionality on any Android device (while Sony’s official application only works on XPeria phones and Xperia tablets).
PS4 Remote play for android lets you for example play the PS4 while somebody else is already using the TV, exactly like the same Remote play functionality does on the PS Vita and Playstation TV.
It’s a pretty neat feature, and it’s awesome that some devs are thinking of the 99.9% of users out there who don’t own an XPeria device. And yes, it is compatible with your favorite Dualshock 4, via the Sixaxis controller app.
I tested the app, and it works well (see screenshot below with Rocket League). You’ll want your PS4 plugged in with an ethernet cable for better performance.
Note: when you register the app with your PS4, make sure to skip the automatic “internet” search, to go directly to the manual process. On the PS4 Remote Play settings, go to “add a device” to get the 8 digits pin to pair your device.

I hope twisted will release the info on the reversed protocol so that we can create a Rejuvenate version of RemotePlay and don’t have to update.

Actually it depends on what game. You may not be able to play cod but just cause 3 isnt to bad to play on this and neither is terraria
It would also be cool if there will be something like a remoteplay proxy on pc which will let you connect 3.52 vita to pc and forward to ps4 with faked FW

For example, a pipo X7 X8 or X9, it’s a mini pc with dual boot Android – windows 10
You can play ps4 Remote Play on any tv.
After reading this last night and installing the latest .APK on my tablet, there is still way to much lag on my device to be usable. So, i’m just wondering if this is something Mr. Gas or Major Tom or any of the other very talented devs out there could possibly figure out to update the PS Vita/ PS TV remote play app to get the feature working again without having to update to the latest f/w. I’ve just started to mess around with my PS TV/Vita and have managed to get the whitelist trick working, which was the thing i most wanted really, i’m on f/w 3.51 and have now lost my remote play function on both systems due to not wanting to update. Would it even be possible to update something in the apps on the PS TV/Vita using any of the tricks just released or not?? Sorry for asking but i have no programming skills and i’m sure i’m not the only one wondering the same, Cheers.
Well remote play on my note 4 on previous versions worked 100% over 4G data.. now with version 3.0 of psn Im restricted to only local wifi

So i installed this numerous times. But it’s giving me an 8xxxxxxxxx sony error code. What version number “in app” should this be? Mine says 1.2.0 even though I downloaded the one above…. any help would be appreciated
Without knowing the specific code, I know I got an error for a while that was fixed when I’d disable SuperSU. Perhaps that’ll help your situation?

I was using the app on my z3 to play my ps4 at work during lunch, but now it requires WiFi. Please fix to allow 4g LTE again soon. Made life easier especially on guard shifts. Haha
Shame they don’t have this operational on Sony Smart TVS running Android TV.
I managed to sideload it, but it won’t let me get past the login phase via browser, the login goes fine, but the app doesn’t continue to the next step and will just reload the browser again.
Finally got remotely to work 99% on my experia spg561 tablet 10.1. Crystal clear. First definitely turn off location on tablet, get a router 2.4 to 5.hz very impressed and pleased
