Thanks for the info. I think a paragraph explaining what a custom IPL is before tossing cIPL’s around would be helpful for general public, though. And since I’m nitpicking anyway, officially it’s “PlayStation”, not “Playstation”. Still, your spell-checker works better than that of most other reporters here.

    • The Z says:

Capital letters inside of words are not common, therefore I type Playstation as one word, since you read it as one word.

If you ever had an older PSP, then you will most likely know what a cIPL is (Custom IPL).

I dont use spell checkers, since they are either cr@p or not dual-lingual, so there is that.

Good news. But I don’t mind if I have to manually start the CFW every 3 or 4 months when I restart my PSP 😀

  6. Shinny says:

Great news =) Been waiting for something like this =) Yeah I skipped the VITA era and sticked with PSP

  8. AlexTOUGE says:

Oh my GOD too many awesome announcements in such a very short time!

  9. DC says:

Interesting. I will finally have my first PSP 3000 that will boot into the CFW. But until it works permanent, I guess I’ll be fine with the loader.

    1rd!

  11. Neal Cullum says:

    FIRST!

  12. Eric H says:

    I actually like the ability to easily choose whether I use the custom firmware or not, mostly for the purposes of connecting to the PSN for games, etc. I’m always a little nervous that they’ll somehow ‘catch me’ if I connect to the PSN using CFW. ^^;

    5.00 M33-6 MASTER RACE. 😉

    • mellama says:

      outdated software

      • The Z says:

I second this. ME & LME are the successor of the M33 masterrace.

ME & LME are the new masterrace.

        • anonanon says:

Yeah sadly that is the case. Too much has happened from 5.00’s time till now, with newer games having issues running on 5.00, and more patches being made that were never backported. Making it silly to stay on 5.00 nowadays.

  14. Darth Agnon says:

Anyone know if this is only for 6.61 or will it work on 6.60? (I’m not planning on updating to 6.61 for plugin compatibility, and also since I’ve got the setup working fine on 6.60)

  15. NeonAera says:

    Hey folks,

I’ve been thinking about getting a PSP slim 3000 since my slim 2000 is pretty much all sc*** up (d-pad is looking like it’s beyond repair).. If I were to just pick up a new package of 3000 right off of Ebay or something, do you guys think I would be able to just hack it right away?? Any drawbacks? Would I be able to play my UMD backups? Or am I only limited to emulators? Thanks.

  16. Yoti says:

I think it’s some autoscanned files like internet cache.

  17. Raziel says:

I still play my Go from time to time so this is going to be nice

  18. Sony says:

Moderators clean up the comment sections with whoever posts “first” or similar this is the only site I noticed that lets that nonsense stay up but deletes meaningful comments.

  19. Oeli says:

Am I getting it right? Will it be possible to unbrick a TA 88v3 PSP?

  25. I believe everything composed was very logical. However, consider this, what if you were to write a awesome headline?
I am not suggesting your content isn’t good., however suppose you added something to maybe
    get folk’s attention? I mean PSP: 6.61 Infinity – Davee's 'Permanent Patch' for System Software 6.61 –
Wololo.net is a little plain. You might glance
at Yahoo’s home page and see how they create post headlines to
grab viewers to click. You might add a related
video or a picture or two to get readers interested about what you’ve written. In my opinion, it would
make your posts a little bit more interesting.
