  7. Jgr9 says:

  11. Billeh says:

I appreciate your work over all these years! I’ve been here the whole time, holding my breff and going Hooray! every time you or Qwik do some magical ***.

  12. SpaceFolding says:

Does it mean there is hope to play PS1 games on 3.3X+ with fully working audio using Media Engine and whatnot?

  13. warfaren says:

Thanks for the interesting read, really a lot of good information that helps you understand the inner workings of these systems.

However, I was hoping to see something about the PS1 bubbles (as seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qiGiiZGgeo ). Is this a method that only TN knows?

  14. Lee_Azzurri says:

    Thanks for your hardwork ~

  15. anonanon says:

Sounds like you guys have been hard at work! I’m surprised PS1 games weren’t targeted at all during the PSPs era.

  16. anonanon says:

Very interesting to read the process involved too, love these articles!

  17. pythonista says:

Great article and you guys continue to amaze us!

  18. TakingAno.2reafingThis says:

All this talk about about playstation got my *** and. The Z’s *** hurting. Switch the next article about the sega saturn and sega dreamcast and how popular its gotten as the years keep going by.

  19. nonijod says:

Thought I’m about to read something a bit broader, including stuff like the Independence exploit but this is cool too.

  20. The Z says:

    Great article, Acid 😉

Now, Zett haters, where is your god now? I told you that TN is not the guy you think he is. TN is a ***.

I do agree; this article was very well written. I had a great time reading it, which is unusual for programmers, I find (unless we are reading API or some documentation of sorts).

The scene is awesome. The Scene FTW!

I’d like to help , but my coding skills are not nearly good enough for this. I’ve tried helping the scene by Q&A / FAQ/ support / feedback for users of Pro CFW and Pro Online on Coldbird’s Forum and the Pro CFW’s google code page. I own a PS TV on latest firmware and I’m wiling to use it if it would help the case. You can find detailed contact info on my profile on Coldbird’s Forum.

    Don’t forget the sha checks

  23. Emory says:

I’ve been away for a bit, is it possible to use different versions of Popsloader on a Vita yet? There are some games I’d like to play which aren’t compatible with the latest.

  24. Yankee426 says:

I wish I had more to contribute but I will say this. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the scene. I’m sure I speak for others who appreciate the work you and everyone else puts in day in and day out. I mean you guys are taking time from your own lives to try and bring something to us the users (whether it be appreciated or not) and that speaks to your dedication. You could easily tell us to get lost when the few who think they are entitled to your work start in with “when is it coming out” or “how soon can you make a CFW for the Vita”. Anyway, I’m rambling, the point to all this was simply THANK YOU and keep up the hard work.

  30. nCadeRegal says:

Nice write up there acid. Very informative and an inside peek into what it takes to make this stuff happen. Mind everyone that this is all done in their free time and the effort and dedication that it takes to make this kinda stuff possible for the masses to enjoy. Big thank you to acid and all involved in this project. Pm me if you need hardware to make this happen acid and I’ll do what I can to get it to you, I need nothing in return just my way to show thanks for everyone’s tireless devotion and openess to advance the scene.

I’v been waiting for this day to come! Theres been numorious things to come out for versions 3.18,3.50,3.51, and 3.52, but not much for 3.3x. I’v been on this fw for like a year now cus i missed the previous ones and dont have a fully working psp…(internet). I’v mixed and matched qcma with vhbl, cma with psp/game install, ftp with both, plugins. Some work half and some not at all. If only their were a perfect solution to my playing psx games with sound on my vita. That would be the sh..! I know i sound like a wney baby, but when i bought a ps1 console years ago when it first came out i fell in love and haven’t felt that way about gaming ever since. So when i found out i could play ps1 games on my psp all life stopped in search of a long lost friend.i wish i could help but im deff. a noob when it comes to tech and code.If theres anything you think i cold help with let me know! GREATLY GREATLY APPRECIATED and GOOD LUCK and GOD SPEED!!!!!

Is there something wrong with the comment section for this news item? I see no comments at all…

  33. Brenza says:

Wonderful reading, it gave me headache but it worth it 😛 😛 😛

  34. Brenza says:

And i really loved this part
I really don’t care about drama, I just wanna get sh*t done so I’m just working on porting ARK to PSX exploits, all while making it fully open source as I believe knowledge should be shared, otherwise I don’t think any of us would be here right now talking about how to exploit a 20 year old console emulated by a 10 year console running in the shadows of a 3 year system that came out dead on arrival.

  35. DavidTheTech says:

cool and thank you so much for this article on how the psx exploits work

  36. RJ says:

I was going to submit a message, but I have forgotten my username (and to my knowledge, there is not a way of acquiring forgotten usernames).

I have been keeping up with the psp/psvita seen for several years now. I don’t have a lot of coding knowledge (yet), but I’d like to help out with this project in any way I can. I’ve always wanted to get involved and see how creating firmware is actually done (rather than by magic) and this seems like the perfect opportunity.

If I can be given instructions on how to do any of the above (e.g. searching for psp usermode/ psx eploits) I’m ready to try my hand at it.

  37. Acid_Anaconda says:

    acid ***
you cant use words such as f*ck,sh*t etc in articles, its not professional
also Total_Noob was a total jerk

  38. Itch says:

Jesus all the time all i see is ps this ps that share some news about 3dO and sega dreamcast a sega saturn the scene is still there man

  39. odanyaelo says:

…i like this… I was actually imagining menu ideas while reading this.. I personally don’t like the menu with ark 2.. dunno if it was particularly for that piece of software, but i think it would be better.. I like retroarch’s menus on android and pc.. or the snes emu menu for psp initially.. It’s been so many years I can’t remember it probably was SNES9x … I dunno, if the ARK 3 UI will be coded and applied the same as ARK 2, I may have some ideas…
