Minimur, WTH Happened This Week? Your Favourite PS1 Game, Need For Speed Beta Signup, and Nvidia Bashes Apple!
Hey everyone! Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like there were any Vita games announced this week, but nevertheless we shall crack on with some gaming news!
This week we’ve got a poll created by the US PlayStation Blog team, the chance to get in on the Need for Speed Beta coming up soon, and with the announcement of the Apple TV that has now been re-focused into a games device, Nvidia shares it’s opinion on why it thinks the Nvidia Shield TV is a shot above the rest in regards to a home-console box in a rather comedic flowchart, also, the team behind The Witcher reveal their budget and total spend on the game.
Like I said above, I’m going to have to disappoint and let you guys know that there were no Vita games announced this week! If I am wrong, please feel free to point out my ignorance in the comments box.
The PS1 favourite game poll features a massive list of most well known PS1 games, ranging from CTR, to Ape Escape, Alundra and more, there’s definitely one that you would have in mind as your favourite, and my prediction is certainly CTR to be the winner though.
I voted for Crash Team Racing, and Ape Escape – Many fond memories from those games that’s for sure!

A Vita game that made it’s rounds a while ago has now made the bump into the PlayStation 4 universe, Flame Over, which does look incredibly fun will be making it’s way soon,Wednesday 16th.
I kept meaning to buy this game on my Vita, and still intend to, I just don’t know why I haven’t yet.
Has anyone else bought this? What did you think?
Well then, how many of you are interested in the new Need for Speed game, and would like a chance to play it beforehand?
Here’s your chance! Head to the link below to get your chance to sign up for the closed Beta of the upcoming Need For Speed, to be released on November 3rd to sign up for the Beta, head here:

For any of you that also bought The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it was recently announced by CD Projekt Red the budget for the game, in the video below which has been translated to English, they mention the total amount came to around 306 Million Polish Zloty, which is roughly $81million/£53million
This is certainly a lot, but as a reference for how big a game they made, and how well it sold, here are other games reported budget:
GTA V supposedly cost $265million
Tomb Raider is put as $100million
and finally,
Destiny is reported to be the most expensive game currently, costing $500 million to produce.
It’s surprising seeing these figures and how large a game The Witcher is, but with such a small cost budget.

Nvidia have been on the market with their Shield devices for a while now, originally the Shield Portable a couple of years ago, then the Tablet (Which I have and love) and now the Shield TV was announced a fair few months ago.
But with all this competition in the home-tv-console-thingy world, picking the winner is a pretty damn difficult thing to do.
Nvidia thought they’d sort this all out for us, though, using a nice little decision tree, and of course the Shield TV wins.

With the release of The Taken King and the update 2.0 of Destiny, it’s now time to see what is added, and what is also exclusive to PlayStation!
PlayStation was nice enough to upload an epic video outlining what exclusive features PlayStation get. Take a look at the video below
I don’t think I’ll be getting this, maybe when the price drops, as I don’t play destiny enough to warrant the purchase.

I love my Nvidia shield tablet. I would recommend any of the SHIELD devices, they are awesome! Especially if you have a decent PC to stream games from.
I love my shield portable, but why stream my PC to my TV, when I hook my PC up direct. Monitors are so last decade. I stream to my friends TV’s, that’s the beauty of NVIDIA Shield.
Destiny: Taken King is awesome, and redeems Destiny in my opinion. Let’s hope more expansions in this vein are in the works.
