Street Fighter V Preorders give you access to the Beta… and the First Beta is next week
I usually don’t blog much about video games per se, let alone preorder ones. And fighting games aren’t usually my cup of tea.
But I have lots of friends who are into Street Fighter, and, more importantly, I think it’s rare for a preorder to give you early access so… well, early.
Street Fighter V won’t hit the shelves until next year, and yet, it seems a Beta is already available. The lucky people who preorder the game today will have access to the Beta of the game as soon as Next week.
The Beta will not be open “forever”, but instead will run in phases. This is what Amazon have to say about the Beta program:
Amazon will email beta codes to all pre-order customers starting Jul 20,2015. The first BETA will go live on 7/23 at 6pm PST, and will last until 7/28 at 6pm PST. Future BETA tests will be announced at a later date. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. Offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders
1st BETA Details:
Platform: PS4 Exclusive
Start Date: Thursday, July 23 at approximately 6pm PST
End Date: Tuesday, July 28 at approximately 6pm PST
Contents:
– 6 Playable Characters: The beta will start with Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash and M.Bison playable immediately. On day two of the beta, Cammy and Birdie will be available.
– 3 Stages
– The beta will be online only.
So, there you go. If you preorder Street Fighter V today, you’ll be able to play it way earlier than most people, on your PS4, with as many as 6 characters and 3 stages, for a full week. Honestly, not a bad deal for one of the most awaited games on this generation of consoles. Oh, and obviously, if you already preordered from Amazon befoore this announcement, you’re also part of the beta.
sounds pretty cool to me, almost enough to get the game, even though I haven’t played SF since Street Fighter 2 on Super Nes… Are you a Street Fighter player?

It looks good, I’d recommend grabbing guilty gear or Blazblue over it though.
Lack of PC beta makes me not care one single bit.
It’s pretty safe to assume future Beta sessions will include other supported platforms.
I looked into and ps4 gets it first and PC is supposed to be later in Fall.
Wow, that is really awesome. I’ve also played Street Fighter II on the SNES when I was a little kid, wololo. The super version though. Anyhow, unfortunately I don’t have a PS4 yet. Waiting for a good price drop.. I don’t see it worth getting right now, honestly, because all those really great game titles that are going to released within a couple years, for example: Final Fantasy VII remake, Kingdom Hearts III, Uncharted 4, of course, Street Fighter V, and etc aren’t even out yet. By then, there will probably be a price drop on the PS4! But iunno.. I’ve been a hardcore fighting gamer for a long time.. I played Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Guilty Gear, Marvel vs Capcom series, Soul Caliber, and Tekken mostly; 12+ years and still going to this day since I was young kid. I have a truckload of experience haha believe me.. Anyway so maybe I’ll go for SFV beta and get an PS4 asap lol….. 🙂 Damn I’ve got a compulsive buying mind going.. $%#&!! Gotta watch it haha.
@SmurfD: i don’t know why most people would like to play fighting games on PC when it has an issues of portiablities unless you’re planning to carry around the pc. One of the major reasons why i prefer playing it on the consoles is that there no chances for cheating unless someone plan to spam the same move over and over.
however, i don’t think i want to pick up the preorder if the beta only allows multiplayer mode only, since that would be a disadvantage as i would like to let other ppl play on it. but meh, each to their own. and i think i only use pc for FPS and RTS games, but unfortually, there no decent games for me to play, both FPS and RTS…
Portiabilities??? LOL, Ok. I’d bet my laptop is more portable than your ps$ AND can play the game at higher resolution w/
far better graphics. Why would you play on anything else?!
beta is happening now on ps4 as we speak. there was a character reveal last week at evolution fighting games championship. name is necalli and his character design and moveset looks swag as ***. sadly he won’t be available for the beta. as for myself. i look forward to the pc beta happening this fall. thanks wololo for this piece of information.
