Alright.
Now that we have the Vita scene up and running, I feel it’s time we had a proper homebrew competition.
The last time I organized a homebrew competition was in 2011, and it was the PSP Genesis competition. It was a blast, and during that competition, gems were created such as Lamecraft, Localizer, Pro CFW, and even a Kernel exploit.
I’m probably not going to reproduce something of the scale of the Genesis competition. I don’t have that amount of time required for that. But I’d be happy to kickstart the Vita scene by offering a few cash prizes here and there.
Besides the cheesy name, I’m not sure yet about the rules that we’ll have for that competition, or the prizes. But for now, I know that I want some sort of splash screen for it, so let’s start with that.

I started a tiny contest on the /talk forum: submit a splash screen following the rules on the thread. I’ll pick a winner in a few days/weeks (depending on how many submissions we get), and the winner will get a $20 PSN Code. Enjoy, and I hope you like the idea of having a friendly competition going on!
Well this should hopefully get some interesting homebrew if a competition is held. Good luck all. Can’t wait to see how the vita scene turns out.
I don’t have a vita and don’t intend to get one really, but I enjoy reading about advancements in the hacking scenes. Thanks for supporting the scene.

So basically, you don’t give a *** about the scene, or its progress. You just felt the need to comment given the chance you were to be first, so you had to think of some *** to spew out in that comment.
Let’s get back to being happy that progress is being made in the scene instead of just waving your tiny e-*** around. Your family must be so proud of you. As for me, I am perfectly content playing games on the hardware they were intended for. If I want to play emulators I can do so on one of my many other hacked consoles. Thanks, dipshit.
Noob here. What’s a Splash screen?
Basically a logo screen
A screen that appears when you open an application that may contain an image like a logo so it looks nicer. Also, helps you think the application is loading up rather than being frozen and not showing anything for a couple seconds.

Yes. Reprep is coordinating the whole thing, we will start messaging people. In the meantime, I am also working on the “PSM+” release, which will allow people to use the PSM dev App without a psm publisher license
Will PSM+ be able to run on a home computer? The last post about it seemed to imply it would be running on a public server, which was the sticking point, as it was a fairly resource intensive process. This seemed odd to me, but I obviously have no idea what’s actually involved in the process (maybe it needs a site with a ssl/tls cert that the Vita already accepts, and would thus be unavailable on on home device?).
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the release. I was lazy and didn’t apply for the publishing license early enough to get one.

No! dont be so greedy, giving a psn code is more ideal coz then person will spend it on a game instore and hopefully maybe find an exploit within this game. Stop coming here just hoping for money ffs!

I was about to release my homebrew RTS anyway, VITA deserves it, Wololo deserves, the world needs it, THE FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT, the….haaaaaa….

OK maybe I missed it, but how can you *currently* develop homebrew for the VITA if you don’t have (a friend with) a publisher license key? I have the regular Dev Assistant installed. I don’t think the Assistant for Unity installation trick has been released yet and neither has Yifan Lu’s keyless method?
