I can use Gateway and SaveDataFiler to extract the game save from a Retail cart. I even extracted my Pokémon Ruby save from my Retail game and imported it to use in a .3DS Rom for use with Gateway. BTW First.

    Pasta looks really good.

What’s the difference between Pasta and RxTools?
I’m now using both gateway& RxTools on one SD card…:)

    • Reprep says:

RxTools doesn’t work on New 3DS, Pasta CFW does. RxTools supports EmuNAND, Pasta CFW doesn’t. These are the main differences.

      • Lee_Azzurri says:

        🙂 thx

      • AliceTheGorgon says:

RxTools is also the only one that allows decrypting 3DS games isn’t it? There were some rom hacks a little while ago that I couldn’t use ’cause they needed RxTools to decrypt before patching.

        • Crzo says:

Yeah, we have to thank Nintendo about all this confusion beccause of their inability to properly name a new system, seriously who thought of “New” as part of the name…

    • Crzo says:

      rxTools supports emunand, pasta doesn’t.

Pasta officially suports installation of .CIA files, rxTools doesn’t (the patched version people is using to installs .CIA files has been patched by someone else, not the developer who created and updates rxTools since he doesn’t like/support piracy).

So Pasta was the first CFW that allowed piracy but requires cubic ninja to launch (web browser exploit and MSET will be coming at some point tho) so isn’t really expense free but remember that rxTools patched version just came out about a week or so ago so it’s something new, hasn’t been around for a long time and if you had Cubic Ninja already for homebrew purposes you got free acces to piracy when Pasta came out.

TL:DR/ as of now rxTools is the best option, since you can use MSET/WEB exploits to launch, install CIA files and use emunand. Pasta requires cubic ninja to launch and no emunand.

Things will change as progress is made in pasta development.

      • Ken Arromdee says:

Actually, you can run Pasta off of mset. However:
        — The process of installing it is really awkward (you need a second custom firmware to install it)
        — Since there’s no EmuNAND, you are limited to playing games that can be played on 4.x.

Pasta CFW 1.3 Beta 4 Download link not Work.

  6. Tom says:

The problem is that currently where I am it’s cheaper to get a flashcart like the sky3ds so as to copy cubic ninja and install Pasta CFW than actually buying cubic ninja

  7. Oussama says:

Excuse me for this question but, is it possible to launch 3ds roms placed on the sdcard with pasta cfw only and without any flash card like the gateway ?

    • AliceTheGorgon says:

No. You could probably convert them to .cia files (there’s a converter floating around somewhere) and install them though, but I’ve never tried that myself.

      • Crzo says:

I have, it’s incredibly easy to do and every 3ds rom I have converted myself works flawless but you need the 7x key… So google it around and you may get lucky.

  8. xenoblade says:

Anyone know where I can download Xenoblade.cia Region: USA?
    THX

    • Crzo says:

Google it yourself, no one is going to provide you links on this website, is against the rules to provide piracy content.

  9. somedude says:

xenoblade runs on 9.4.0-21. hold up while entering classic mode. emunand will then update to 9.4 from the cartridge.

  10. ForteGS says:

Would i be able to install .cia files like Omega Ruby and like Super Smash Bros?

  11. grubgrub says:

Anyone get the cartridge version of xenoblade chronicles 3d to work using this method?
I followed the steps, was able to start the pasta cfw with firm launch active but I was unable to get my n3ds to run it.
    Always asks for to update.

Any help will be much appreciated.
