E3: Ubisoft Press Conference, 2 new IPs, a South Park Sequel, and more!
Ubisoft’s was pretty nice, with nothing that really bored me besides Aisha’s terrible jokes, there were plenty of new games and IP’s announced that are noteworthy!
The Ubisoft’s press conference opened with the trailer for the new South Park, I am overjoyed at this, as I really enjoyed the previous game – it was my GOTY of 2014 after all.
The game goes by the name of: South Park: The Fractured But Whole… Hehe.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker took to stage, to announce their new game, and also their dislike for the microphones that are hooked over their ear by saying ‘These microphones are f***ing dumb’ and also to emphasise that the game will go ‘deeper into your but whole’ – meaning that the protagonist in the first game, who you play in the second, will expand on his story and you’ll learn about him.
Aisha Taylor took the stage once again for a third time, and took advantage of the fact that Ubisoft made a few mistakes to make a few poor jokes, and that Ubisoft have taken this feedback on board. But after this, Ubisoft CEO took the stage Yves Guillemot to speak about how Ubisoft take risks and make the games that everyone wants to play.
Surprisingly, they announced their secret IP first thing as it couldn’t wait. named For Honour
Made by Ubisoft Montreal, the gameplay was amazing, the cinematic trailer, set in the 1600’s seemingly, the trailer kept cutting between different environments, weapons, armour and weapons.
Jason Vennenburg, Creative director for the game gave a speech about his scope and vision, after the introduction, there was a live demo, showing the multiplayer aspect for the game, the demo featured a crazy amount of people. But your team of 4 people. The AI looked pretty easy to defeat, yet other players it was an epic duel. Something fun is that you can taunt just like in the From Software games.
After the demo, he said:
‘I’m sure you all know when you can play it’
So I thought, awesome, a release date as well?!?!
‘If you are at E3 this week, you can play it here!’
Okay…
‘And for all you at home watching online…
Nice! A release date!
there will be a beta in a few months time’
Seriously? Damn you.
You can sign up for the Beta here:

After this Aisha wasted no time in announcing an expansion for The Crew, named Wild Run and seemed like a new-gen Motorstorm, take a look at the trailer below:
A new trailer was yet again cinematic, and this game is an expansion for already released Trials Fusion, names Awesome Level Max, and in this level pack you are a cat riding a unicorn which can breathe fire, yep.
Next up was The Division, Ryan Bernard the Game Director for the game, came up to speak; the gameplay that featured the area known as ‘The Dark Zone’, this feature was obviously a lot more in-depth than we got in the Microsoft conference, the gameplay showed how all teams work, and that you’ll encounter different teams. Along with the fact not these are your enemies.
As an example, the group playing noticed a few hostiles – then spotted a few other guys behind them, the group that surprised them that were behind them, ended up teaming up and defeating the common enemy. This type of mechanic where not everyone is an enemy I really like, watch the gameplay demo below:
March 8th, 2016 – All platforms
Another new game announcement, developed by Blue Byte Productions, is called ANNO and will be released November 3rd. The trailer showed a camera panning across a massive city, up close and far away.
Once again there was a Beta for it, and I’m especially happy that Ubisoft are putting the effort into the Betas, they’ve always seemed to be pretty good with this as they did announce a beta for The Crew last year.
you can gain access to the Beta by pre-ordering:

I’m really sorry, Aisha Tyler is really not funny after accusing a Jacob Fyre (AC:Syndicate) of having rickets and trying to create a meme.
Just dance was introduced next, and it was announced that Just Dance is the largest music game franchise that exists. Something interesting that they’ve announced, is there is no need for a camera needed for play. You can simply use your phone, so lots of people can play at the same time.
There was then a performance from Jason Derulo, as you do, at the largest gaming conference in the world. Performing ‘Want to Want me’, unsurprisingly enough, however, he didn’t sound too good and I’d much rather listen to the recorded version in a studio.
Just Dance 2016 will be introducing a new service for PS4, Xbox One and Wii U called ‘Just Dance Unlimited’ a streaming service which needs to be subscribed to, to gain access to receive new songs to dance to, with new content monthly
The next game trailer that featured was amazingly photorealistic, it was pretty mysterious to start off with and spoke about a serious problem but revealed itself as Rainbow Six Siege, the online-focused game, we’ve heard much about it prior in the year which I report on. The community developer Genevieve Forget took to stage to announce Terrohunt – a single player or to play with friends, a live demo showed the team players all working together on eliminating the AI terrorists the community developer spoke about how clever the AI is, but to be perfectly honest it seemed like standard AI with nothing special, and I kind of lost interest in what was happening in the end.
Once again, they announced a Beta for September 24th, available for all platforms. Unfortunately, there was no news on whether or not it’s open, closed.
Trackmania took the limelight after Division, and with the announcement that it will finally be making it’s way to new gen consoles, from the PC. It looks like great fun. Super fast paced with customizable tracks, which you can build yourself – They showed the track builder, and it’s pretty good – it reminds me of the of Rollercoaster tycoon where you can create your own coaster. Take a look below.
Aahh, what we’ve all waited for:
Assassins Syndicate featured, with a nice cinematic gameplay detailing your ‘syndicate/gang’ – the song that accompanied it was really good. Ubisoft really knows how to make great trailers. Some features of the game, which I managed to guess from the trailer is that to increase your syndicate, you can have a pub brawl and win over the locals in the pub. Somewhat like Black Flag.
Yves Guillemot took the stage for one last game, once again to announce another new IP, which looks pretty good. I’m unsure whether or not if it’s multiplayer-focused, but it does looks pretty good.
The trailer was pretty confusing, but it’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
The song played was Friction By Imagine Dragons. The trailer detailed all the different options of infiltrating your objective, be it via stealth at night, ambush during daytime.
The CGI parts of the game were pretty amazing, and was very pretty.
There we go, this is it for Ubisoft, Square Enix and PC Gamer show will be written up soon!
