Minimur, WTH Happened This Week? Pre-E3 news & More!
With E3 just a week away, kicking off Sunday coming. There has been a fair amount of news announced in the run up to E3, getting a catch of the limelight before the main event kicks off! This article will sum up what I found, and other pieces of news too!
Are you excited for E3? I am. So much so that I along with our other guest bloggers will be covering whatever goes on during the event! It’s all going to kick off! In any case, what have I found this week? We’ve got Fallout 4, a new (awesome) PS Vita game as per Kickstarter funding, and the infamous Uncharted Collection! Let’s get started!
This game, Earthnight just received a new trailer, and being the indie PS4/Vita exclusive it is, will probably feature on Sony’s conference.
Earthnight is a take on the ‘endless runner’ genre with home console quality design and depth. This is what developers, Cleaversoft had to say about the game:
Each run begins in space. The player must traverse eight beautifully painted layers of the atmosphere, alternating between skydiving and running on the backs of dragons on the perilous journey down to Earth. Unlike other runner games, there is an end — the planet’s surface is the final world: EarthNight.
We’ve broken down each dragon (level) into three chunks: a beginning, middle and end. Each of these chunks has at least five hand-designed variations that spawn procedurally according to a set of rules. This means the most basic dragons have 125 different potential layout variations. The first world contains four different dragons and therefore offers 244 million potential seeds. By World 2, there are over 59 quadrillion seeds and the finished game will have about 6.93 x 10^39 possible seeds. Basically, no matter how many runs you take, your path to EarthNight will always be different.

We all remember Mighty No.9 right? Well, this wasn’t the Kickstarter game that’s making it to Vita. No, I’ll get to that in a bit.
For an indie developer, they’ve done pretty well. With a now release date of September 15th They’ve partnered with publishers Deep Silver and with this they’ve been able to release retail versions, and even offer a limited edition, which seems to be so limited it’s already out of stock.
If you buy the retail PS4 version, you will receive the PS3 and Vita version for free – and on top of that, the retail version has a double-sided A3 poster, a small artbook and some free DLC!

This is the nice new PS Vita game I spoke about in the introduction, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. I reported about this the other week that a PS Vita stretch goal has been introduced, and that so far has been smashed, with their fund pool currently sitting at $3,514,714 – with PayPal donations still to be accounted for, but the last count for that was at $98,000.
The game now has a PS Vita version coming! The release date is still a way off though. the expected release date is March 2017 – But no doubt this will be delayed a tad taken in the fact those dates were with PC and home consoles in mind, not 3ds and Vita also.
I smell an E3 announcement!
Cool little game, Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons, has been rated for PS4 and Xbox One.
I played this game for a bit but didn’t end up completing it. I may have to go back to it before deciding whether to buy this or not.
What are your thoughts?

Well, we all knew it was coming, but how and when was the question.
Fallout 4 was announced a few days ago, with a teaser countdown site first of all, and now there is the announcement trailer which I’ll link below, not a whole lot is known about this game so far, but judging how they were happy to give it a pre-announcement trailer prior to their conference, I’d expect to see a full gameplay demo this Sunday, and possibly even a release later this year. If not early 2016 as the studio working on this game has been on the down low for the past 4 years….
The PS Store has revealed how much size will be swallowed up by the new Batman game, Arkham Knight, and it sits at a hefty 45.4GB of free space. This doesn’t even take into account any incoming patches; so if you were planning on picking this up, it may be worth holding out till the supposed 1tb PS4 – Or upgrading it yourself to a higher HDD out of the box.
Here’s the trailer for what you get if you pre-order the game:
After months of guessing and rumours, it’s finally been confirmed.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection features the first 3 games. Unfortunately without multiplayer – but the plus side is that you get access to Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta, so you aren’t completely left out from multiplayer.
I’ve got all three PS3 games in a nice collection, so I don’t think I’ll be getting this again, it depends on how well it has been done, but it’s being handled by bluepoint games, so I presume it’s just a port with 1080/60 bump up rather than a large scale re-vamp.
Nevertheless, this is a great addition to have on the PS4, for those who missed out on the PS3 era. If you haven’t played either of the games I’d suggest you at least play the second game.
There are plenty of ways to watch E3, but here’s a new one hosted by the one and only Geoff Keighley, and will be live throughout all of E3, featuring new game demos, interviews and many other things to reel you in. I may well be watching this one.
The program will include live “Let’s plays” of new titles, plus celebrity interviews along with other video game stars from the YouTube family. You’ll also get live coverage from IGN and GameSpot, just like last year.
The play-by-play coverage will continue with hundreds of hours of live and on-demand content throughout the week directly from YouTube’s booth at E3, hosted by RoosterTeeth, along with our legendary Trailer Battle, Nintendo’s Digital Event and Treehouse Live, as well as other exclusive gaming content.
From live reactions and gaming demos, to trivia showdowns and “Meet the Makers” sessions with industry experts, the E3 YouTube hub will offer you the easiest place to explore the best of E3. Stay tuned starting on June 14.

It seems this generation Microsoft and Sony are on exactly the same page regarding their consoles.
With the leaked announcement of a 1tb PS4, also comes a leaked announcement from Amazon that there will be a 1tb Xbox one, too.
But that’s not all, this new Xbox features a new controller – with a standard 3.5mm jack for nearly all earphones, instead of the proprietary 2.5 jack featured in current controllers.
There’s only one place to play the best exclusives and biggest blockbusters this year, like Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Forza Motorsport 6. Experience the most advanced multiplayer on Xbox Live, powered by hundreds of thousands of servers that maximize performance while reducing lag and cheating. And quickly switch back-and-forth between games, live TV, and apps. Now includes a 1 TB hard drive for storing games and media, a controller with a 3.5 mm headset jack, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the definitive Halo experience on Xbox One. Play through The Master Chief’s entire story with Halo Combat Evolved: Anniversary, newly remastered Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4.

Namco Bandai are releasing a game on the Wii U, named Project Treasure. This has already been announced but I haven’t heard of it up until now, anyway, in Nintendo’s Japanese Direct earlier this week, some gameplay was released for the game. Here it is:
In anticipation for something I’m sure we’ll see at the PC Gaming Show in a couple of weeks, Valve have released an introduction video for their controller, the Steam Controller, and it looks pretty intuitive, I’ll give them that.
I’ll certainly be happy to give it a go, but I wouldn’t buy one as I don’t purchase enough PC games to warrant it.

PlayStation Trivia
111. Final Fantasy got its name because Square was facing bankruptcy and thought it would be the last game it made. Creator Hironobu Sakaguchi also intended to leave the game industry if it failed.
