Amiibo Wave 4 – Like those Amiibos? Then you’re going to have to fight today
The Wave 4 Of Amiibos is out today.
If you like those collectible smart toys, and missed out on the terrible preorder process, you’re going to have to fight very hard to get them today.
This week’s the launch of Wave 4, which includes Robin, Lucina, Pac-Man, the Splatoon 3-pack, Splatoon Girl, Splatoon Boy, Charizard, Wario, Silver Mario, Ness, Jigglypuff, and Greninja.
Stocks are sparse, and Nintendo’s secrecy strategy around the reveals isn’t helping. If you’re into amiibo’s, you’re going to have to chase available stock at your favorite Gamestop, Toys’R’Us, or Target. All of these three stores have their own exclusives, and put purchase limits on how many amiibo figures a single customer can buy (typically 1).
Amazon are trying to give a fair chance to real customers, and will be releasing each figure at a given time today. Purchases are limited to one of each amiibo per customer (this means if you want them all, you can, but you can’t purchase two Silver Mario, for example), but you’re going to have to be fast. The full schedule on Amazon today can be found here, and we reproduce it below:
- Pac-Man: 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. PT
- Charizard: 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. PT
- Inkling Boy: 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. PT
- Lucina: 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. PT
- Wario: 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. PT
- Inkling Girl: 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. PT
- Silver Mario: 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. PT
- Robin: 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. PT
- Inkling Boy, Girl, and Squid 3-pack: 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. PT

From Amazon’s statement:
We’re limiting each amiibo figure to 1 per customer, and we’ll be disabling 1-Click Ordering. Additionally, it’d be helpful to make sure you’ve updated your credit card and shipping information to help you move quickly through the checkout process.
We’ve seen a tremendous amount of interest for the latest wave of amiibo figures and we’re always working with Nintendo to get our hands on more. While we cannot guarantee that every customer who wants an amiibo will be able to purchase one when they become available on May 29th, we are doing our best to make sure customers have an opportunity to purchase their favorite characters!

Or, you know, you can skip the Amiibo frenzy, and switch to Skylanders or Disney Infinity instead 😉

Hmm this seems fun.. I should get the new 3ds
secound 😀
In Fact, Most stores didnt get what was promised . i waited for 3 hours and a friend waited in target and i waited at bestbuy. ou can only get about ONE FIGURE. Limits are rough,
I just ordered Pac-Man!!!!
BUY ALL THE AMIIBOS! just kiding dont even own a nintendo gona try that disney infinity on vita instead
The atrocious grammar in this article aside…
It really depends on your area. It was extremely easy and painless to get every new amiibo (sans Ness) in my area. Barely anyone showed up at Target (and they had over twenty Jigglypuffs, so plenty to go around) and Toys R Us had literally a hundred Greninja. I don’t know about Ness since I didn’t try; he does seem like the real problem child in this wave.
20+ Jigglypuff are still gone in minutes so unless you are there when they open which many people are unable to, they are not easy and painless
Tbh all of the writers here have better grammar/spelling than the majority of other vita blogs. AA few mistakes here and there, nothing too bad.
Does make me wonder why they don’t pass it through a spell check quickly though, to catch the obvious mistakes.
@Shugo: I am not a native English speaker, but I do try to write correct English. Kindly point me to the issues you found in this article. I proof read it twice and am not seeing anything obvious at this point
Edit: People have mentioned that “Amazon are” should be “Amazon is”. “Amazon are” is actually correct in British English because the company represents several individuals, which might be where the confusion is coming from? I was just told this is usually considered incorrect in the US, but that is also arguable: http://itre.cis.upenn.edu/~myl/languagelog/archives/001874.html
In the US, it’s just generally not spoken or typed like “Amazon are”, I mean I literally just had to correct myself because I put is
Your use of the English language is better than mine and i natively speak the language.
Anyone who uses British English on a daily basis, such as myself, see’s that US English is a bas***dised version of the British, perhaps it was created in order to make it easier for them to write and spell.
Ignore stupid comments that say you have grammatical problems.
If you think American English is a bastardized language, wait until you read Canadian English. It’s like an American decided to learn British English, but gave up half way. So now they write a soup language we are forced to call Canadian English.
lol.. weeabos
Listen to this song as you pile through waves of weeabos for your amiibo

Fight hard.
Better this one:

It’s kinda more fitting to an amiibo fight in-store
Man I work for Walmart. This is some of the dirtiest sales tactics I’ve ever seen and I far from support any of these NFC figures. A dollar to make, sell them for 20, limit quantities driving up value. Absolutely disgusting.
What is so great about these things?
I have no fkn idea but people seem to take them really seriously lol
