Minimur, WTH Happened This Week? PS Vita Games, P. Morpheus Release Window & PC Gaming Show News!
I’ve got some pre-E3 news for you, including a few awesome tidbits, too!
News this week includes new developers on board for PC Gaming show, a brand new first party studio of Sony’s along with a release date for Octodad on PS Vita!
The crazy game on PS4, Octodad: Dadliest Catch has finally got a release date for its Vita edition, and sounds just as crazy as its PS4 counterpart. Especially the 2 player co-op on the same Vita – Yep, you read that correctly.
Another cool feature is the ability to play co-op locally using one device. With Sickhead Games’ help, we managed to stuff in enough control for two players (one on each side) to wobble your favorite dad through everyday life while rubbing shoulders with a real life friend.
That sounds like chaos, even more so than 2 player on PS4 and I’d love to see it in action, this may just convince me to buy this game, as I don’t have it yet, do any of our readers have it? I’d love to hear your opinion!

Steins; Gate is a JRPG, I haven’t actually heard about this game prior to now, it’s nice to know that Vita is getting another game though, this game will also be releasing on PS3, not PS4, oddly enough. In any case; MOAR GAMEZ
If you’d like to see the trailer, click here. It doesn’t explain too much to be fair, so I’ve embedded some nice photos instead:

We already knew that the Project Morpheus would be releasing in the first half of 2016, but that was only a release window. It seems we have some new information, however!
Japanese newspaper, Asahi has run an article with an update on a release window, stating that it will release before June 2016.
Presumably, Sony would want to get their headset out as soon as possible, due to the fact that Oculus will be releasing beginning of next year in Q1 2016.

Here’s some more interesting news, for those of you who are excited for Project Morpheus, like myself. Sony has started up a new gaming studio in England, named NorthWest Studio, specifically for their very own VR headset.
I believe that there should be an AAA game to garner interest with it release, much like anything. If they release the system with tech demos and other few small games I don’t see it revolutionising the industry, or picking up that much steam.
Something I would certainly like to see, is full support for every game, so rather than games having to be specifically made for the system, all current games will be visible using the headset, like a personal cinema! How amazing would that be?
Batman, anyone?
Well, there’s been a leaked survey about a whole collection of the first 2 games to be re-mastered for the Ps4, and Xbox One, presumably, for announcement during the Playstation event at E3, no?
This isn’t just an update for the console, this is a full overhaul. The bold text in the leaed survey says:
WB Games is recrafting the critically acclaimed and best selling titles from Rocksteady Studios, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, for the next generation consoles. Far from just up-reused visuals and textures, both games are being rebuilt from the ground with upgraded models, environments, lighting and HDR, effects and shaders, and new high quality post processing effects.
Now this seems awesome!

Microsoft has plenty planned for us this E3! It seems that their 90-minute conference isn’t long enough. In a tweet to a fan, Phil Spencer replied saying that they went through, and it’s still too long, which, unfortunately, means that some games will either have to be cut out or cut short. Which for any media is a dead shame.
@Masih3KA We did a rough end to end run of show yesterday, still too long. I like the games we have in the show, not easy to edit it down.

For the first time, there will be a PC Gaming show at E3, it will be hosted by AMD and PC Gamer magazine. They have just let us know that there have been even more developers confirmed for their conference:
- ArenaNet (Guild Wars)
- CCP Games (Eve Online)
- Creative Assembly (Total War, Alien: Isolation)
- Fullbright (Gone Home)
- Frictional Games (SOMA)
- Frontier Developments (Elite Dangerous, Zoo Tycoon)
- Nexon (Maple Story)
- Pixel Titans (Strafe)
- SCS Software (Euro Truck Simulator)
- Splash Damage (Dirty Bomb, rumored Gears of War Remaster)
It seems like the conference will be a pretty substantial, with the names above, and I will certainly be covering it unless another guest blogger would be happy to do so!

I couldn’t really find a suitable image for the above news, so I thought this would suit best. It made me laugh.

Thanks, guys!

Um, Steins;Gate is actually a visual novel not a JRPG…
Oopsie! Sorry! It seems that a few other readers corrected me also.
Steins;Gate is a Visual Novel, not a JRPG. It’s a famous Visual Novel that’s been around since 2010, was ported to multiple systems and has had anime and movie adaptations.
Lol was about to correct you on the genre of Steins;Gate, but I see other fans have already commented
Steins;Gate is a visual novel, not a JRPG!!!
So steins Gate is getting localized in English, because all I know its a Japanese game besides for PC
Hey Minimur. Steins;Gate is a visual novel dood.
Steins;Gate is a visual novel, not a JRPG. Minimur, fix the typo quick, before someone notices! Oh wait…
Before:
299$!
Now:
399$ and paind online!
Steins: Gate is a visual novel you numpty!
not a jrpg
Steins:Gate is a visual novel not a Japanese rocket propelled grenade launcher yah dummy.
dammit….and all this time…
Can’t believe it, I’ve already preordered a million units to Mother Russia. Oh well better safe than sorry, at least fanservicing is guaranteed cause in Soviet Russia the games play you.
*clap clap clap*
Why would they not do all the Batman games? Just two of them is kinda half arsed IMO as the entire series is amazing. The Vita variant was just OK but enjoyed it much more on the PS3. I would love to play the entire series on my PS4. Just made it through two of the batman games getting ready for the finale.
the only thing i’m gonna say about Steins; Gate is: another case of Sony’s console cannibalizing Sony’s handheld.
Something just doesn’t smell good.
In PC Oculus Rift is recommending a freaking GTX 970. Wich is more than enough to beat a ps4/xbox one anyday.
To put this in perspective. With a demanding game. The witcher.
PS4: 25-30 FPS (28 AVG)
PC GTX 570: 50-60 FPS (55 AVG)
There will be special games for the Morpehus? like crappy special games made just for it? That will suck so bad.
What do you expect from the dirty console peasant? ***
Steins;Gate is a visual novel game from the Science Adventure series. It’s not a JRPG at all 🙂
So… This means that Octodad will require 3.51 to run?
Steins;Gate – JRPG !?
The heck is that!?
It’s visual novel, not jrpg…
Stein’s visual is novelly a gate JRPG, not an actual.
Wow! After all I got a blog from where I can truly obtain valuable facts concerning my
study and knowledge.
