I would like to know if I can do the process with a Vita on 3.51 or it needs to be 3.50?
IF it needs to be 3.50 then should I just get a help from a friend who has a PS3 or the PS3 has to have certain FW version?

    Thanks in advance!

  4. gobulle says:

I were on 3.18 with all the stuff 😉
I have made the choice to update to 3.51 !
I have a problem : I have the dev assistant and I keep it to 1.2 just atfer the download but when I want to launch it, I must update !!
I need explications for the 3.51 firmware, can I find a tuto for newbies or a video ? Thank in advance 😉

I made an error, my Ps Suite Dev is on 1.00 .
      If I update, it becomes a 2.00 .
      I am complety lost …

  5. dreassic says:

Great, why wasn’t the cancel update info given when the call to install and apply for psm was given? Now it has 1.15 installed.

    • wololo says:

Honestly I think Reprep made that part up. Nothing from YifanLu says you need to prevent the Vita client from updating. “If you manage to run the Demo, you don’t have to worry” is basically what he told me

      • Reprep says:

Nope i didn’t make it up. 1.15 update doesn’t work on 3.18 Vita, so if you do what i say, you will have the 1.14 update which works on your 3.18 Vita.

If you are on a recent firmware Vita, just install the PSM Dev app and do whatever you want, no need for extra steps.

I have a question before I decide to update or not: Is it possible and probable that we get emulators through this? I don’t want to lose NES, Sega, etc., but it would be awesome to have a good N64 emulator.

    (I don’t have a PS3 or 2nd Vita, so I don’t think I can have both :/)

    • Reprep says:

I cannot say anything concrete at the moment. It is your choice, the risk is yours. I would advise to read the original blog post of Yifan Lu.

      • Buzzcut says:

Yeah, I did when I first read about it, but it doesn’t seem much different than the post here. I’m tempted to update because I hardly use TN-V or my vita at all… (It’s awesome, I just don’t have a lot of time.) However, if it’s not possible to get more powerful emulators, I don’t want to update.

I’ll wait a few days just in case someone finds a way to download it with only one 3.18 vita.

    • Anon says:

It looks like PSM exploit allows execution of a native Vita code outside of PSM’s walled garden, so the performance should be on par with Vita games in theory. However, I highly doubt we’ll see (m)any native homebrew come out of this because the target audience is very limited in numbers (how many applications did Sony receive? 3000-5000? How many of those will be approved? 300-500?) and limited in duration (unless Yifan has a way to circumvent license expiration).
There’s simply not many people to develop for, I’m afraid. Moreover, unless another ‘entry point’ is found (webkit?), already developed homebrew will be rendered useless over time.

      • wololo says:

some very good points here. Yifan Lu has an answer for some of these concerns, but maybe not all of them. We’ll see how it pans out 🙂

        • n says:

you do know that there are a lot more than 3000-5000 users of the psm dev app right? people that have been using this can renew their license without having to wait for approval. that’s how i managed o get my license key already.

  7. Jay says:

I was rejected this morning, with Sony saying that I needed to show a screenshot of an application ready to be published to the store. How would I have an app ready if I can’t even debug without an application key?! Idiots.

    • Me says:

You’d obviously be developing the app on your pc. You don’t need a publisher key to compile your apps, just to run them on the vita.

    • umhumh says:

When did you apply for it?

  8. RDJ says:

“Thank you for applying for a PSM Publisher License.

We are currently receiving a high volume of applications for PSM Publisher License and the processing time may take longer than usual.

If you are waiting for a PSM Publiser License and your PSM Application is almost ready to submit, please send us a screen shot of your PSM Application developed with the PSM SDK. We will review it and put a higher priority on processing your PSM Publiser License application.

    Kind regards,”

    It’s happening ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

  9. VitaMyPita says:

They ask for a screenshot so I sent them this website and how we are all trying to pirate, they said they will research some more.

  10. Mr. MaGoo says:

Unfortunately this came at the worst possible time. I was 600 miles away when this was first announced and came home a couple days ago to a shattered lcd. I ordered a new screen but that won’t matter now….

  11. VitaMyPita says:

Sony said they needed more information, I said contact the Z he’s the vita pirate that can answer all your questions.

  12. wombat72 says:

    here’s hoping….
registered and confirmed this morning, downloaded the bits and bobs… running vita 3.51. so guess its a wait and see on how it all pans out.

  13. willyjill says:

do i only need the dev app? must i have a sdk demo on it? i am developer since 2012 but i dont know if i need to download sdk and demo again?

  14. MyLegGuy says:

Good thing I registered a couple months ago because I actually wanted to develop games!

  15. Charlie says:

I got all the steps, but I’m missing the run a demo on your vita part, it says I’m missing the publisher key, is running a demo on the vita needed?

  16. Bonki says:

Im searching dev assistant update 1.12 pkg for my FW3.01 Vita, please help 🙂

  17. Elwood89 says:

Did anyone get confirmed after May 15, when they started asking for screenshots? I mean WITHOUT an actual screenshot 😉

    • dreassic says:

Nope, i did it the day the article originally got posted here, but I haven’t received any confirmation yet.

  18. walil says:

got an error C0-11274-5 when trying to copy the dev assistant to my 3.18 after i downloaded it in my vita 3.15 (samePSN account) 🙁

didnt updated it in 3.51, just downloaded the dev assistant and paused the update as stated in the blog

    just SDK1.21 or all?

  21. Chun Moffett says:

obviously like your web site but you need to test the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling problems and I in finding it very bothersome to inform the reality however I’ll surely come again again.
