Minimur WTH Happened This Week? Expensive Season Passes, This Month’s PS plus Games and GTA V Mod Fun!
The GTA V mod video is absolutely brilliant, and I can’t wait for you to see it, unfortunately not much on the Vita game announcement front, yet there’s plenty of gaming news as a whole!
Before we get started though, I’m in a bit of a dilemma. My release PS Vita has been playing up in the sense that some of the buttons you need to depress really forcefully before it registrs, so I thought I’d finally take the plunge and get a 2k model, BUT, with the rumors surrounding a 3k model coming out soon, what do you think I should do?
Buy a 2k model, or wait until the 3k model possibly is announced in June…..
I mean, look at how sexy this white/lime green console is:

In any case, what are your thoughts?
Let’s crack on! So we’ve got news on Watch_Dogs 2, how Valve have given developers to ban you from their game, and also a new gameplay video for Batman: Arkham Knight.
Just after I publish my article on games releasing this month, the PS Blog announces that a Vita game will actually be releasing this month, not that I’m complaining, of course!
Ultratron – PS4, PS3, PS Vita May 12th
A throwback to the game Robotron 2084, already released on PC developed by Puppygames, with the port being handled by Curve Digital; the same developers that also ported ‘Titan Attacks!’ to PlayStation systems.
The last human has been slain by evil killer robots. You are the one remaining humanoid battle droid. Your mission: avenge the human race. Boost your battledroid with power-ups, buy cute but deadly pets in the shop. Blast your way through 40-plus glowing neon levels, avoiding Chasers, Turrets, Spawners, Minelayers, bombs, and bullets, and take on the four giant boss ‘bots of the Apocalypse – Ieiunitas, Bellum, Lues and Letum.
The trailer is the one for PC, which was made back in 2013:

I understand we all aren’t too fond of season passes right? Well, I can see the reason why…
Batman: Arkham Knight’s season pass will cost a total of £32.99/$39.99
Before we jump he gun and say this is crazy expensive, let’s see what it actually contains, right?
- Batgirl: A Matter of Family — An all-new prequel story expansion in an entirely new location where you play as Batgirl for the very first time in the Arkham series – check out the first render of Batgirl.
- The Season of Infamy — Play as Batman in all new story missions featuring legendary super-villains invading Gotham City, with new story arcs, missions and gameplay features.
- Gotham City Stories — Play as Batman’s key allies in narrative missions extending their storylines, from both before and after the events in Batman: Arkham Knight.
- Legendary Batmobiles with Themed Tracks — Drive the most iconic Batmobiles from Batman’s 75-year history, on custom-built race tracks, each themed to that Batmobile’s specific era. Every Batmobile will be drivable across every race track.
- Crimefighter Challenge Maps — Engage in a series of new challenge maps utilizing the unique play styles of Batman and his allies.
- Character Skins — A variety of skins from across the eras for Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman.
Well although there is no way of judging the actual content of the above, it’s safe to say that there’s quite a bit there. I understand the developers wanting to support the game much after release, even if there is $40 worth of content there…. I would be surprised if there’re many people who actually purchase the season pass.
Anyway, take a look at the latest trailer below:

I’m sure we’ve all heard of Banjo-Kazooie, right? I certainly have, although I’ve never played any of them they did look like fun. Well, thankfully now I may be able to get a feel of what those games were like, as Ex-developers of Rare created a spiritual successor, under a new studio, Playtonic games. After knowing they have a knack for such games, and seeing a gap in the market.
Their project funding has gone amazingly well, after initially asking for £175,000 – and the game reached £1,000,000 in under 24 hour and is currently sitting at £1.319.480 at time of writing, people are clearly wanting for this game to be made, and with the addition of the game now coming to other platforms thanks to the meeting of their stretch goals, PS4 is now in their sights. Here’s their Kickstarter pitch (Click on the K in the top left to go to their page):
They’ve only got one more of their stretch goals to hit, that being £1.5million, and this will grant them the money to get an orchestral performance of the main soundtrack.

Well, although Ubisoft practically made it pretty clear over a year ago, when they stated that Watch_Dogs is a franchise, that they were considering a sequel, yet no news has been made about it yet. Until a little peak of information came from Julien Risse, who was the Senior Gameplay Programmer for Watch_Dogs and also the Bad Blood DLC, take a look at the screenshot below:

Like I said, Tony Key, Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing said during E3 last year ‘Watch_Dogs is a franchise now’. Which I think points pretty heavily towards a sequel, in any case, we have that bit more proof now to consider a second game even more likely.

Since its release on PC, the mods for GTA have been coming in, and slowly but surely we are seeing some brilliant ones, in some ways hilarious, in other ways just really impressive, take a look at rag-doll mode:
NSFW & SPOILERS:
And now for the more clever mode, someone has managed to create an app so he can control the game’s phone, with his:

wait for 3k
I know, but look how sexy that lime green and white console is!
Sigh….
Waiting for the psvita GO hopefully
Well as long as it isn’t digital only, I understand that most games are in digital format, which was one of the main problems with the GO, but memory sticks are unrealistically expensive, and it wouldn’t be financially viable for sony to make such a console.
How I hate the digital revolution. Batman was the sole reason I got a PS4 now I have to drop another $40 to see the series in full? F U Eidos and Square Enix you can all eat a d I c k for all I care.
You sir are compeletly batshit crazy if you got a ps4 just for batman
I feel ya bro, my X button is starting to act up 🙁
That’s really bad with the Vita buttons. I use mine constantly since it launched and it still works (thank goodness). If some buttons sometimes don’t register the presses too well, they are most likely just soiled. You could try gently hitting them a little while holding the device upside down to loosen the dirt.
Which buttons don’t work so well anymore? I guess the shoulder buttons are a weakness of the device.
I think I would get a 2k as I use mine on a daily base and couldn’t wait much longer. But the possible 3k model sounds really awesome with a potential HDMI-port, which would render the PS TV useless. Maybe they are actually taking this step now after having trouble with the PS TVs (which are still a cheap and awesome option, btw!).
I was considering selling my second PS4, and purchasing a PS TV instead but the fact I can’t use spotify via remote play really is a killer, I love playing bloodborne with the soundtrack I made, and not being able to listen to it is pretty dissapointing; in any case, I’ll definitely think about the 3k model, if they don’t make too many improvements however I might go for the white/lime green version!
Wait for 3k and get a 2k cheap when they sell off the stock. Also *** these season passes. They are just an excuse to sell us half a game for £50 then have to buy the rest for £30. They’ve obviously already made this content pre-launch so just put it on the *** disc.
They did state that they’ll be supporting the game for 6 months post release, but I really think this is overkill, and that it shouldn’t be that price, this is a worrying step, and I hope other developers don’t follow this trend.
This is what I get for guacamele……..Unable to Find This Page

I’d wait to see if they will announce the 3k model. If they don’t this June then take the 2k. I had a bit of buyers remorse when the new 3ds was announced.
not a bad shout. If they do, but I don’t see any significant diferences in the two I may get the 2k model, that white/lime green model looks so amazing….
I cna’t imagine theyd put an Hdmi out in the console, that would make the PS TV obselete
