The official Playstation 4 system software changelog states that the firmware 2.51 has been released as of today (the 16th April 2015).

This is not the case, though. Our beloved FirmwareUpdateBot disagrees with the statement, that the firmware 2.51 has already been released.

But since Sony has changed the status of their system software changelog website, it can be assumed that the release will be later today.

It is pretty safe to say that the system software 2.51 will fix a few bugs that were introduced in the current firmware 2.50.

Let’s hope that Sony is going to release a PS Vita firmware 3.51 alongside this PS4 system software 2.51, because the Vita’s 3.50 is as buggy as the PS4’s 2.50.
