Up in this article today, you’ll see a new final fantasy release, Spotify’s release on PS4, and some fun with Lester in GTA V!
There’s quite a bit to cover this week, including the likes of this years Playstation April fools joke, Rainbow 6: Siege’s special edition has been announced, and quite a bit more!

For the release of Batman: Arkham Knight Sony have freshly announced a new limited edition PS4, now it isn’t as awesome as my 20th anniversary PS4 but it certainly does look pretty snazzy. I’ll skip straight to it:
A normal bundle is also being offered, just in case you don’t want a super cool limited edition console…..
Funnily enough, the limited edition is actually £15 cheaper in UK store GAME.co.uk
Along with the console, timed exclusive DLC will be coming first to PS, too, the missions and the skins for batman and the batmobile:

Do you guys remember Ubisoft’s surprise game at E3 last year? Rainbow 6: Siege, of course!
It looks like a pretty interesting game and can’t wait to hear more, luckily, they’ve released a new trailer!
They’ve also announced what their collectors edition will entail this week, it includes:
- Collectors Box
- 120 Page ‘tactical guide’
- Gold skins for all in-game guns
The gaming industry just LOVES April fools day, doesn’t it? We saw it here on Wololo, but I think the most impressive and elaborate April fools this year goes to Playstation, with the announcement of Playstation Flow.
Playstation Flow is a VR headset, which you put on, looking just like goggles, and sensors on your arms and legs and when you’re in a swimming part of a game, you can swim just like in game!
‘OH MAH GERD THIS IS AMAZING!!!!’
It’s pretty impressive how well done this is, and it almost had me up until:
‘Grab your flow sensors, then head to your nearest swimming pool and jump right into the action.’
And it just gets more ridiculous from there.
I wouldn’t mind that drying platform though. That would come in hella handy!

Being as the official Call Of Duty championships are hosted in partnership with Xbox, Sony have created their own CoD: AW competition, here’s a list of the prizes that they’re giving away to the winners:
- Bragging rights
- Glory
I was about to write how Xbox has a higher fan base than PS for call of duty, but after checking VGChartz.com, is actually seems that the latest game, Advanced Warfare sold more globally on PlayStation consoles than Xbox, but there was, however, a significant difference in the US region.

In any case, it’s pretty good that PS are offering a competition like this, better than not having one at all!
Square Enix have been doing really well recently, with the timed exclusivity of Tomb Raider, and the horrific announcement of FF7 PC port, it seems like they wanted to add another bit into the mix and release FF X|X-2 HD for the PS4 too.
I personally won’t be getting this, being as it’s more expensive than the previous versions, priced at $49.99 rather than the $20 for PS3/Vita was on release.
I still haven’t completed X, let alone started X-2, I really should play the game more.

Since the announcement of the new Ratchet & Clank, there hasn’t really been any news on the game, as of now. If you can count this as news/ an update.
Twitter user Aykut Malak asked Insomniac if they are positive that they are working on the game, this was their response:

No doubt there’ll be a full demo at E3, in June, hopefully, more information on the feature film, too. I’m looking forward to watching that, the Heavenly Sword film also!

As a Spotify premium user, I use it constantly, on my phone, laptop, tablet, alarm clock too. Well now, I can use it on my PS4!
Thanks to Playstation teaming up with Spotify, creating Playstation Music, which I reported on when they originally patented the logo (and guessed correctly)
or what I feel is most likely, their music player to play during the game, and this may be the logo for the app tile on the homescreen
In any case, I haven’t been using it too much, being as the soundtrack for FF Type 0 is amazing as it is and doesn’t really warrant music playing over it. Saints Row is a good game to play Spotify with though. The in-game music player doesn’t have a shuffle button, Using Spotify you no longer need to worry about hearing the same song 20 times before getting fed up.

Firstly
I would like to add that Re2 was the best game for the psx along with tekken 2 and 3. FF7 was good but then xenogears came out then everyone was sucking that stick hard.for along time. Now that were done with the past it would be cool if xenogears was remade into a current gen. I am not supporting remasters because this is just another attempt by sony to to dry up peoples pockets for games that they may already have or should have been left to be on that last gen or on to a truly made remake of a game on a current gen.
I understand how you feel with remasters, I kind of do too for some multiplatform games, but saying that I have got 3 remastered games on my PS4, and am thinking about the Zombie army trilogy when it gets a bit cheaper.
I don’t really feel that there’s nothing too bad about them, being as they give you a chance to play a game you may have missed previously.
One of my favourite games on the PS4 is Saints Row: Re-elected. A remaster, really enjoyed Sleeping Dogs too, the third remaster I got was The Last Of Us, I haven’t completed that only got halfway through.
So as far as they go, I think in a certain way they’re a good thing, quick to put out, good games and more people get to play them, like myself.
I would like to see LA Noire remastered, brilliant game.

How would you remake Xenogears, though? Higher quality sprites? Because I think most people who love that game wouldn’t appreciate an entirely 3D remake, even if the gameplay stayed the same.
Sadly there will most likely never be a remastered Xenogears due to the developers of the first leaving Squaresoft who held the legal rights to the game. This led to the team moving over to Namco and the start of the Xenosaga(Namco) and Xenoblade(Nintendo) series. Very sad as the first Xenogears was stated to be episode 5 of 6 but no sequels or prequels can ever be made now that the original devs(Monolith Soft) have no legal ownership of the game. Sad ending to a truly amazing game.

Seriously, FF:X-2 is absolutely atrocious. Worst game you’ll ever play. FF:X is fantastic though, so finish that one.
I agree completely. FF-X 2 was horrible. I’m just happy playing FF-X on my Vita 😀
When I played it on PS2, I got pretty far but didn’t complete it, it was a borrowed game and my friend wanted it back.
I enjoyed it though, whether my opinion will change or not I’m not sure., I’ll definietly give it a play after I’ve finished X though, there’s no point not touching a game I paid for! 😀
Only reason I played X 2 was because the ending of X. That ending made me want to know more. As a game to complete the story it’s alright, but I felt that it was a bit forced. Also they put SOOO much fanservice into X 2. Half the characters are nearly naked xD!

I disagree. FFX is fantastic and the best FF in my opinion, and YES x-2 does ruin the ending, but the battle system + the International extras make X-2 an absurdly fun experience. The story, characters, and music still stink though haha

you know, that game holds a special place in my heart; it was the first game to evoke emotion in me. I played it on my PS Vita, now although I’ve been open mouthed at the screen before, in shock or whatever, I’ve never shed a tear. but I certainly did with this game….. damn.

i own the games that that sony made into remasters.Bad thing is sony didn’t issue a discount or a free download of the already purchased ps3 download versions. As these remasters have a little extra sony will always play it off as it not being the same game at all which is ***.
How many more years will sony encourage the idea of re releasing the same game especially when the some choices of these titles aren’t that old. Still a gimmic as far as i can tell for the reasons of not allowing the more than potential backwards compatibility on ps4 which can play ps3 probably ps2 def ps1 and psp plus vita games. Wheres a good hacker when you need one.
I’m sure they’re working on it! But in any case, most remasters are included with the DLC that came with it. They de-value in price pretty quickly too, which is good for the consumer I guess.
