Look at the clever(?) way this guy found to remote play on his PS4!
The following is pretty clever. And lazy. And probably lags a little bit. And many of you will tell me this is old, that you saw this on reddit, 9gag, and other sites a billion years ago.
But still, it’s pretty cool and it made me laugh.
Imgur user JakeALakeALake decided that he would get a 100% compatibility remote play for his PS4, without the need for any additional app whatsoever, so he could play the PS4 from his bathroom.
I present to you: the facetime ps4 remote play trick!

Seriously though, ignoring the probably terrible lag induced with this technique, this is a cool “out of the box” way of thinking, that’s just reusing existing tools and making them work in ways they weren’t supposed to work originally. That’s hacking at its best!
Source imgur, many thanks to @corbinraymond
Thats plain stupid… androids can stream ps4 games… but w.e
And yet the lag is as bad as simply facetiming the device.
Have you tried it? Remote play has no noticable lag, so if you are playing some racing games or whatever doesn’t rely on single frames (like fighters or some shooters) it’s just like having native PS4 games on your Vita/Android.
Streaming from PS4 to Vita has noticeable lag.
Even streaming PS4 to PSV TV has lag.
I doubt that a *** phone will have better performance than the Vitas.
I’ve never noticed any lag remote playing on my android phone. You don’t even own an android device, so what would you know, the z?
Lol, I was thinking the same thing
Streaming from PS4 to Vita has noticeable lag.
Even streaming PS4 to PSV TV has lag.
I doubt that a mediocre phone will have better performance than the Vitas.
I can’t say that your logic to come to that conclusion is silly, but you’re just assuming in the end. These guys actually have tried it with their “mediocre” phones, and say that it doesn’t have any noticeable lag. If you don’t own an Android and have never tried it yourself, then you word isn’t worth as much as theirs.
You are clearly doing stuff wrong then~
upgrade from that toaster u call a modem xD I have no lag on any of my devices.
Dem legs… XD. Nice work BTW.
In a way similar to this I’m trying to use the mp4 remote function on the ps vita to stream content from my pc to the vita.
Since the mp4 remote for movie and video work well, I’m trying to create a stream of my desktop in mp4 format as a file. Then the PSVITA connected with wifi at the same PC will start to remote play my desktop.
Unfortunately I’m still trying to find a software to create the MP4 stream. Tried with VLC but no luck.
Any idea? or do you know if someone is trying the same thing?
Well, Plex comes to mind…: http://wololo.net/2014/07/04/ps4-media-server-how-to-stream-all-videos-from-your-local-network-to-your-ps4/
It could be an idea, though to stream to psvita I will have to pass trough ps3 I think…
I said it a few days ago on the PS4 community and I’ll say it again. If you can play games in the bath with a reasonable amount of concentration. You aren’t bathing, you’re sitting in water playing video games.
no dude, you’re not bathing, you’re relaxing in water playing video games.
this is first time i see this pick and this is one of my dream , as soon as i buy a house that have Bathtub
guy is a ***, should have brought a vita
Because dropping a 200€ Vita is a better idea than dropping a 40€ controller (that might still work after all)?
till his ipad falls in, $900 waste
WAIIIIIIIIT… isn’t the Ipad waterproof since iOS 7?
Thought those apples got an iOS update which granted them water resistance?
By now (with iOS 8) they have surely ironed out the bug with failing water protection on some devices. 🙂

*sarcasm included*
What is about controling?)
saw this on reddit last week haha
you can also use an Mac, iPad, and iPod or iPhone and create a streaming rig for 3DS or even a PSVita (this is ghetto though like this remote play but anyways).
Just buy a damn tv and set it in the bathroom with a playstation tv or another ps4.
Yeah its been circling on facebook since days.
Hahaha Nicky Romero.
