Minimur, WTH Happened This Week? Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Hefty FF XV gameplay demo and more!
So there’s quite a bit of news this week, including the awesome confirmation of a new Tony Hawks Pro Skater (The soundtrack better be awesome!), and also a little review from me of The Order, and some other awesome stuff!
So it comes the time again where you spend a while reading this, and by a while I mean half an hour – because I tend to ramble on a bit, and then I go off on a tangent about something else unrelated like how I prefer the order over bloodborne, which I’ll let you know about down below. Anyway, where was I? Oh yes! PS Vita games!
Deadman’s Cross – Out Now
Although it’s not really an announcement, I feel that it should be on here being as I haven’t heard of this game before viewing it on the US PS blog earlier, so to save myself from typing; here’s the video:
It seems like an interesting concept, with it originally being an android game, you can’t expect the game to look amazing. But in any case, it must be pretty good if it’s had just under 5 million downloads. The game will be free-to-play, set in the year 2030 where 99.9% of the human population have magically turned into zombies, and gameplay sounds kinda interesting:
The game is split into two sections: shooting and card battles. In the shooting section, you’ll shoot down Deadman, one after another, as they come after you. You fire away at the Deadmen that emerge in various areas like the town, graveyard, casino, aircraft carrier, and baseball field. In this world, even animals and plants turn into Deadmen. Furthermore, historical figures like Napoleon and Lincoln also appear in-game as Deadmen.
Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines – March 3rd
Although, again, not an announcement, I thought it’d be best to add this game here being as I haven’t heard of the game, so I thought I’d bring it more awareness, as it looks quite cool!
Set in ancient Japan, the game art delivers a rich world inspired by traditional brush paintings of the Heian era. You’ll be exploring a beautiful, watercolor world filled with weird and wonderful creatures based on Japanese mythology. Oh, and we’ve kept the fantastic Japanese voiceover which fits in with the atmosphere perfectly.

At the beginning of the post, Yuli Yoshimura mentions that the game will be coming on March 3rd, and will be priced at $19.99, being digital only.
It’s been a long time since we’ve brought you any news on Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, but I’m excited to announce that this unique JRPG will be available as a digital download on PS Vita via PlayStation Store for $19.99 starting on March 3rd!
I bet you can guess what the second comment in is, right?

Let’s take a look at Tony Hawks twitter, although he sent the tweet last week, I had already fully drafted the previous article – So although there were talks about a new THPS game, and Tony himself confirmed the project, and hopefully, it will be as good as THPS2!
A romantic poem for your Valentine’s Day. Also – we are working on a new THPS to be released this year. Love, Tony pic.twitter.com/tg0NNFlDsJ

Like I mentioned in the title, a hefty amount of FF XV gameplay footage has been released online, 40 minutes, in fact, it’s the demo that comes with Type-0, so if you plan on saving 40 minutes of your life, and would rather play the game. Don’t watch it.
Here it is:
Tell me it’s not beautiful, despite it’s compressed quality and poor audio…..
Square Enix are doing something very interesing, and clever – makes a change, right?
Well I’m sure we all are aware of their S.E Collective thing they have going on, if you’re not, read about it here. What they’ve done, is given indie developers the chance to create new games, using S.Enix’s IP’s.
So say an indie game company had a brilliant idea for a new Gex game, they would pitch the game to S.E and after the thumbs up it’d go to the funding stage. I think this is actually a brilliant idea, being as there are so many games companies out there that have these IP’s and do nothing with them, a few examples would be Crash bandicoot with Activision, Parrappa with Sony, and can we count Banjo-Kazooie as abandoned too?
If you would like to read more the link will be below, but the IPs S.E has mentioned as workable on were Gex, Fear Effect and also Anachronox.

Although I approove of the idea, this does say something unfortunate, it basically means that S.E themselves won’t be doing anything with those 3 IPs, for a while, that’s for sure.

Weekly Blog Round-up
Boy have we been busy this week! Look at the amount of blogs we churned out this week! We saw the return of Acid_Snake, a PS Update, and also some 3ds news, too.
Why should you buy a Playstation TV? – I was going to get one, but after realising there isn’t any more avaliable HDMi slots on either TV’s, with a PS4 on both, I decided against it.
My experience with SDL2 and game development, part 1 – Ooh, nothing like a series of articles to get me reading!
Error Code 002-0102 makes 3DS flashcart owners fear a Nintendo ban wave – Well no-one got banned for the TN-V bubble, right?
This is the hottest console on the market right now. But is it worth it? – Would you py $500 for a New 3ds? (By new, I mean ‘new’ the name of the console, not just a new 3ds….. man Nintendo suck at naming)
Nooo! Change! Whyyy? The humanity! (New mobile friendly forum theme) – Well take a look at this snazzy new forum layout!
It’s the PS Vita’s 3rd birthday, and Sony have an awesome sale for gamers across all consoles! – A decent sale for us EU folk, with another sale active for US too.
Acid_Snake, what have you been up to? – Who is this ‘Acid_Snake’ you speak of?
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva extend TN-C/ARK-2 eCFW exploit files for firmware 3.36 released! – If you somehow for whatever reason missed this article, here it is.
PS4 firmware 2.04 is now available – These exciting new features are included… : Aah, our least sarcastic of all of bloggers, The Z gives his opinion on the latest firmware update

34. Spyro The Dragon contains a demo for Crash Bandicoot 3: Waped

the trivia 33 and 34 blew me away
I’ve accessed the demo on crash before, it is just the first spyro level, but I has no idea there was a demo for crash in spyro!
trivia no. 30 just goes to show quality has nothing to do with selling loads of units, only marketing.
Really this source of news got me and other people not wanting to visit the site for at least 2 months. I wish you really think about what others would want instead of what you want posted. Look at VICE their website happens to have news that everyone wants in one form or another. Or if you need a boost of inspiration vist racketboys web site they have tons of news even if the things they talk about is a bit old in technology but people still go on daily.
My apologies, I’ll take a look at those websites vice and racketboys, I get an email summarising news articles of multiple sites daily and these were the ones that stood out, among of a bit more research. In any case, I’ll always appreciate feedback. Thanks buddy!

“My experience with SDL2 and game development, part 1 – Ooh, nothing like a series of articles to get me reading!”
It’s not a series of articles, it is one blog post split into two cause it was too big.
Did I miss the Order review in there?
At first I was pretty disappointed in the game but it’s been growing on me. The (near) seamless transition from cinematic to gameplay is extremely impressive.
Ah I forgot about that; but yeah the transitions are pretty impressive, I’ve paused just staring at the screen a few times purely because I wasn’t sure if it was still in a cutscene or not!
Really hope some good gems like Xenogears or Crash Bandicoot are brought back with the S.E. collective. I know Xenogears may be tough to do because of how long its been but maybe a remake would be possible? *keeps dreaming*
Hey thats how i felt about GEX but hey by some madness we might see a new game in the future 😀

Not to sound like a grammar nazi, but “Spyro The Dragon contains a demo for Crash Bandicoot 3: WAPED” is just not good 😀
Minimur12 is a pretty swell fellow :3
