never buying. Mainly because i was disappointed with the design choice. If anything i can paint a DSXL the same color, print the sticker and slap it on there as the skin. So.. meh. save anywhere from 350+ bucks lol

Exactly. I have no idea why everyone is so obsessed with the MM edition 3DS. I think it looks pretty lame. The ALBW 3DS looked better than this. I just got black even though I could have gotten a MM one, it’s just too simple for something that is supposed to be a limited edition product.

Reminds me of my crappy Wind Waker Wii U, with it’s cheesy decal on the controller only.

Like you said the design is so half ***, you seriously could just make one better looking than that with decals.

I wouldn’t get it at such a high price, but it’s better than paying a grand for one of those anniversary PS4s.

  3. That isn’t the hottest console on the market right now unless it was stolen. 😉

On a side note, seems to be cheaper on ebay. Its always a good idea to check both site’s prices when planning to buy something.

    Drastic emilator anyone?

  5. snowyraven says:

thought i want the special edition so bad, i won’t pay extra money for anything i should be able to get for MSRP.

I have the tri-force one that released back with Link Between Worlds, I’m good with that until more games come out that actually use the c-pad thing.

Thank god I got mine before this *** happend. I got both 3ds and figure for majoras mask. But a buddy of mine got sc*** so hard I guess a scalper at all the stores near us got them. A worker told me a guy bought 3 OF THEM like ca mon. And that he’s friend with the manager. It’s so fd up how companies work. I hope I’m not the only lucky soul out there.

  8. Coraje says:

I was not planing to get the New 3DS but at that price no and I would want the Monster hunter one anyways before that one. 🙂

  9. Eric says:

I also agree that its fd up that people only buy this to resell them for duble or even triple the original price. I was so mad when this got sold out before gamestop even opened. Im one of the lucky ones to be 1st in line, to buy two of them for myself. There where only 4 at my local target.

I understand that this device is limited edition but to me it looks like a pile of ***. Japan gets a lot of cool limited edition 3DS’S but some of them actually look aesthetically pleasing.

This is a brown/poo coloured 3ds with a *** graphic stencil placed on top of it, it almost objectively looks ugly. Nintendos design team are laughing all the way to the bank on this one.

  11. DrDuster says:

I dont think theres anything wrong with scalping to be honest. The market is always buy low sell high. Reserves are limited amount so they would have to invest time and effort into reserving online and driving to retailers to get more than one. And theres no guarantee the product is gonna be high demand. Like amiibos I wanted to nab some 2nd and 3rd wave figures but realized some of the guys on Amazon have had their stock sitting around for days. For the most part those Amiibo were adequately stocked, others like Shulk are not. You dont find out which ones sell in low quantity till after theyre shipped to stores. Its a gamble.

Really scalpers are an easy scapegoat. The real problem is Nintendos neglect of stocking their product. Wii started in low supply but saturated quickly so people didnt complain for long, but select amiibos and special edition consoles are sold to be scarce. If you really wanted one, you would have gotten it at release. Scalpers are a *** poor excuse for your jealousy.

    • Panzer says:

Scumbag tactics are scumbag tactics no matter what.

I am not jealous, I do not own nor want any 3DS variant. Nor would I cheat people out of money.

  12. Tigrexx says:

Screw the Zelda Edition. I´ve got the Monster Hunter 4 Edition.

  13. OneWhoHasYetToContribute says:

Honestly that particular 3ds xl is not really all that at all. It’s the video game media and scalpers that beef it up to be something incredible. If you you look at the japanese 3ds handheld for sale THOSE are really worth the extra buck especially the charizard 3ds xl that one looks really cool and the MH4 Rajang Gold and the persona q handhelds look pretty. I am in love and ***!

  14. RPRezo says:

Can you just pay a specialist to paint your blank console anything you want?

  15. lmao says:

    nope, 3DS is ***

Seems like freedom of speech is limited here on this site with all the moderation done for non offensive comments. No wonder why this site barely gets attention.

  17. krysodlak says:

In Europe (at least where I live) they are still available in shops at MSRP. God bless ‘Murica

  18. Lucif3r says:

LOL. And in sweden its ~250eur, which is about 10eur higher than normal package-deals, in other words – the price is normal lol.

Of course, its sold out now though 🙂

  19. BahamutBBob says:

I was interested in the MM system, but I know 2 people that have them and wanted to stand out a bit more. I don’t like Monster Hunter, but the MH4 system looks amazing, so I went with that. I didn’t support a scalper, I managed to get it from GameStop when they listed them during that week where they had a few for preorder every day.

  20. alpmaster says:

I wanted to get any new 3ds XL but they are sold out locally and in order for me to afford it i need to trade a system in.

    Thank you gentlemen

Cmon yu all are a wortheless piece of meat

  23. Acid_Snake. says:

So what? I’m gonna buy 2 of these consoles thanks!

  24. thedicemaster says:

it’s too bad the US didn’t get the standard sized New3DS.
it cost me €24.99 to make my n3DS special, and it feels more special than any special edition.

the wooden cover plates actually feel like real wood, it feels almost as if you could get splinters from it.

    • alpmaster says:

I agree i actually called Nintendo asking why North America did not get the choice of the New Nintendo 3DS sometimes i feel that my 3DS XL makes my palms sore after playing for 4 to 5 hours. What i thought was interesting is the battery size is relatively the same charge for both New models but with the face tracking feature i fear that having the 3D on all the time the battery will deplete even faster?

  25. Smoker1 says:

Yeah well, Gateway keeps saying they can run on the N3DS Systems, they even released a Video proving it back in November, but the more and more they delay, the more and more ppl will ditch them and go to Sky3DS which is the only one that works on it. Unless the Supercard DSTwo Team releases the DSTwo+ soon.
Not to mention there are Homebrew and Emulators that seem to have stopped being developed a Month or 2 ago. More than likely because there is no access to the N3DS System via EmuNAND. So they are unable to fully test the Code.

  26. huialx says:

they are 250€ in every shop in germany lol
