PS4 firmware 2.04 is now available – These exciting new features are included…
A new firmware for the Playstation 4 has been released this morning.
The system software 2.04 is now available and comes with these new exciting features…
Doesn’t this look promising? Sony’s to-do-list is finally fully done, and all the important and requested features are now included.
Next to a whole lot of nothing, we got nothing at all, no new features and to finish it, they did literally nothing.
This is how development should look like. I bet they invested a lot of hours to grant us this great firmware update!
Sarcasm aside, the changelog is, how else could it be, system stability has been improved.

This firmware update does not fix any publicly known vulnerability. The last and only PS4 security vulnerability ever reported was on firmware 1.76.
The new system software 2.04 seems to be mandatory, but people are reporting problems while downloading the firmware.
Sony suggests to restart your PS4 device and your router and retry it.

first!!!
You dont say.
Mabe they patched the lizard squad exploit..
Do you honestly think a couple script kiddies that only know how to DDOS and ruin everybody else’s fun had the skill level to exploit the PS4?
You guys think I should update? my ps4 is currently 1.75 atm.
If you wanna listen to your own music when playing any game you should. 🙂
LMAO. I highly doubt there ever was an exploit achieved by lizard squad. They are a joke and lie all the time and have also been known to claim work that really isnt theres. Not being a *** but the odds lizard squad ever had anything is slim to none. Maybe im wrong but I wouldnt hold your breath on those guys.
Sorry, I chose wrong post…
Every day, I pray to God, just to ask that Sony improves the stability of their systems.
I often dream of them stabilizing their consoles, in some type of lab.
One day, we will reach 1000000% stability, and the PS4 will be able to teleport me into heaven.

Congratulation!! 🙂
Still waiting for the game suspend and resume feature.
haha, I love your sarcasm in this article.
i just dont got it .
what features thay add to this fw
Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
Try releasing an exploit and you’ll see sony devs work like a dog.
So true.
Whiny post ;(
Whiny or the Truth?
definetly whiny.
– What can we do to get more money?
1 – Great games that everyone will buy and love?
2-Keep pushing stupid updates, so “hackers” will buy 2 or 3 hardwares to have different firmware versions…
Very smart Sony…
I never had to update my SNES firmware and it worked like a charm for what I wanted: play games…
I don’t remember SNES having firmware at all but ye… sony should concentrate resources on game making and service improving instead of this “stability” bullcrap
You sure? I had to update my SNES last week when I connected to XBL. =P
It did, however, frequently get hardware upgrades via special chips in specific game cartridges.
And dont forget that the original playstation was originally a prototype for a CD-accessory for the SNES.
Because people will want to play all these hypothetical made games on a system that is unstable or has features that aren’t working correctly. Sure, abandon keeping the system stable so engineers can go work on games, which isn’t even their job.
It’s so weird to me that people complain that Sony works on small updates that improve the system under the hood, but will complain even more about any little hitch they encounter when using the console. These updates are important, because they know you’ll *** and cry and threaten to jump ship if the console has one hiccup. Be glad they keep up with stability and small improvements, so you can have your seamless gaming experience.
Very true. Its also nice to see sony employees frequenting this site as well ! :->
🙂
Not sure if I agree with you. It’s like at most of the cases your comment would seem like damage controlling, in others it may sound reasonable. Funny thing. Yesterday I updated High School DxD on my Vita and it broke the game. Something during update procedure just sc*** the game. I had to redownload it and reinstal but thanx to peculiar nature of this game, I was able to salvage my progress. I think, and see that at least several of these “stability” updates are in fact directed against this community or hacking in general, all they do is closing exploits, patching holes, sometimes creating new ones in process. Very few of these “good for little more than nothing” updates bring useful stuff. Therefore I disagree with you much more than I agree with you. Update 3.30 for Vita was someting to me even though It was hindering for some, update 3.18 was a joke, to me this PS4 update equals to 3.18 in usefulness. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think so.
Just to let you know i have a friend who works over at the playstation network in the west coast here in the usa. I have to tell you that he’s probably the coolest person because he tells me everything that goes on.One of the things is that they do have gung-ho employees regularly checking now on any site or forum for news on exploit or hack releases. This isn’t mandated by the playstation networks management but you know how the *** kissers are always trying their best to achieve success even in the corniest of ways.
Aside from adding nothing, I did notice something that I dont think happened before on my PS4.
I use the facial recognition to log into my PS4. After the update, it had me tilt my head and smile in order to log in.
Before the update, it would just have me lift the controller light to my face.
Other than that, this was another pointless update…
