So this week I could only really find lots of little bits, there’s definitely a few interesting pieces in this article though, something pretty funny, too! Also, the return of PS Trivia!

 

The Swindle: PS4, PS3, Ps Vita

Although the video doesn’t give too much away other than a few interesting gameplay choices, so I’ll paste in a few quote from the official introduction of the game from the blog.

Dan Marshall, the designer for the game has brought in the help of Curve Digital, to assist him in bringing it to the 3 consoles. It seems like a pretty cool game, the art style reminds me of Awesomenauts a bit,  the walking and running around. Anyway, the whole game is seemingly procedurally generated, as he describes below:

The Swindle is a Steampunk cybercrime game. It’s a little bit Steampunk, a little bit cyberpunk – and every level is unique. You break into procedurally-generated buildings , try to hack all their computers and empty their bank accounts, and then leg it back to your airship. If you do, you can spend that cash on trendy steampunk gadgetry and bio-mods such as bombs, quad-jumping, teleportation, bionic eyes and all sorts, which will help you take on bigger and more elaborate heists.

Ratchet & Clank – Seemingly to coincide with the feature film release later this year, insomniac have announced a new R&C game. If there was an award for most confusing developer with exclusives, this is the one!

In 2015, we have the rare (actually, for us, unprecedented) opportunity to expand Ratchet’s universe simultaneously in two forms. We’ll continue our involvement with the Ratchet & Clank feature film. And we’re excited to announce that we’re also developing a game that shares the film’s vision of Ratchet’s origin story. As featured in Sony’s press conference, the game re-imagines the original Ratchet & Clank, with updated gameplay and completely new visuals built from the ground up for the PlayStation 4.

On the back of PlayStation games news, upcoming game Drawn to Death, will actually be a free to play game –

David Jaffe, Twisted Metal and God of War creator confirmed the news the other day  through twitter,

“Yes, it’s a free-to-play game made by people who don’t really like traditional free-to-play,” he explained. “We built it as free-to-play from the ground up in order to take the accessibility that we love about free-to-play, while destroying what we hate about it: lack of play balance and pay-to-win. I hope that players think that we’ve got it right, but know that it’s our take on free-to-play, and not what you’re used to.” We’re guessing that he had more curses in mind, but 140 characters can be a nightmare for naughty words.

I was going to embed his twitter comments announcing it, but being as he tweeted out 5 tweets which was meant one sentence, I’ll write it all out here:

Yes-Drawn To Death is a free to play game made by a group who doesn’t really like traditional f2p. In a response to another twitter user who asks whether there will be regular updates and continued support, David replies:

That’s very much the plan. I’ve been excited to work on a service game for years!!!

 

This is pretty interesting, so I presume that purchasable items would be stuff like new characters, skins, maybe even new maps, too.

For those unaware of this game, it’s a fun looking free for all shooter that is set in a kids notebook, hence the art style, it looks pretty fun and now you know it’s free, why don’t you give it a shot! Here’s a video of the gameplay below:

Sony have introduced an interesting new initiative, known as Playstation HEROES. This give PS4 owners a chance to play against celebrities. By purchasing items through the PS Heroes app, you will be entered for a prize draw of playing the celebrity – a pretty nifty idea if I may say so, with 90% of proceeds going to the charity, rather than having a hefty cut taken, I’m quite happy with this!

With celebrities like Snoop Dog and Saun White on the list of people to play, I think this could gain quite a bit of traction.

For all us lonely gamers, or anyone excited for Until Dawn (Which basically covers everyone, right?)  Supermassive games have released an interesting new trailer for the game. Now, we already knew decisions would have consequences, and where you’d hide and such, but what they’ve shown in this video is quite interesting.

Exec producer  Pete Samuels outlined on the blog:

 

When you start the game you will meet the characters as they couple off around the house (by choice or circumstance) before their holiday turns into an all-out fight for survival. If you’ve watched previous trailers and demos you’re already familiar with Ashley and Chris and their ‘will-they won’t-they’ friendship. One of our favorite things about this dynamic is that their relationship is not pre-defined at the beginning of the game; your choices will decide if the relationship either blossoms or wilts before the night is out. That is, if they survive.

It’s interesting how you can choose relationships, and also how the other party adapts to the story after your decisions:

Choice is a central tenet of Until Dawn. Your actions not only determine who lives or dies, but will also directly influence the relationships between the characters (romantic or otherwise). You will even influence how characters react to each other. If you are mean to a friend, they may or may not choose to save you later in the game. The narrative will always continue forward, adapting to your decisions throughout the game – meaning that your game will be noticeably different from anyone else’s.

Here’s a game we haven’t heard much about, either being overshadowed or just staying off the radar, more likely the latter; Just Cause 3. Square Enix have released their first trailer for it, which doesn’t really show much about the game, other than flying squirrel suits, and a release window of ‘holiday 2015’

Don’t get me wrong, the trailer doesn’t do much with CGI clips of explosions and fire, sure, the trailer is called firestarter, but anyway, I’m just moaning.

So this is the Tekken 7 opening scene, it features our nearest and dearest most beloved father/son duo, Jin and Heihachi.

The opening scene is pretty nice, but I would’ve preferred there to be a culmination of the characters, like the previous ones. Rather than 2 characters battling it out. Who am I kidding, I’ll get the game anyway.

I’m sure my image of this before you clicked on it intrigued you, so here’s the story. An Etsy shop owner, WoodCurve made this one of a time item and sold it for $3,000 – And someone was crazy enough to buy it. Don’t get me wrong this table looks amazing, with a built-in storage space for your blu-rays, but still. I don’t fancy dropping $3k on a coffee table of an oversized controller anytime soon, do you?
