PS Vita: Custom Bubble creation on Firmware 3.36 possible!
A few days ago we have told you that the new PS Vita firmware 3.36 patches the ability to create new custom bubbles from said system version.
While this has been correct, for a few hours, another trick has been found, which, once again, enables the creation of custom bubbles on firmware 3.36.
The previous trick involved renaming the /PSP/ folder into /PSP2/, since this circumvented the protection of the /PSP/GAME/…/ directory.
As of firmware 3.36 you are unable to do said thing… Well, kind of…
Another famous trick to modify (rename, delete, create, move, etc) EBOOT.PBP and PBOOT.PBP files has been to add one or 2 dots at the end, which then enabled you to touch said files.
If we use the E/PBOOT.PBP dot trick and apply it to the /PSP/ folder, then we are able to rename the /PSP/ folder once again, which enables us to create custom bubbles from scratch on firmware 3.36 (as long as you have access to the memory stick – via VHBL, PSPFiler or FTP).
Since this information is publicly available, we expect a PS Vita firmware 3.37 in near future, which tries to fix this…
That is, if they can fix it (the E/PBOOT.PBP dot trick has been public since months).

Do it yourself if you are only going to cry that there is no VHBL for 3.36 yet.
Or even better, dont be a dumb f#ckwit and update as soon as possible. Waiting on 3.18 and then updating to 3.36 would’ve made it possible to have custom bubbles on 3.36 without being dependant of a VHBL for 3.36 in the first place.

Yea. I got 2 VItas and keep 1 on 3.18 so I can do anything I like with it and transfer to the other one.
Still its stupid when people want CFW or eCFW and have auto updates turned on. Idiots, they will loose it straight away without even knowing it.
But idiots will be idiots. They will keep updating and keep complaining.
That said my iPad is still on 7.1.1 as its working, jailbroken and no need to update and loose all the great features its now got. Same goes for the Vita. If whatever firmware your on if its working then turn off auto update unless you need it to update.
People have a choice, PSN store or eCFW. Make the decision and dont complain about your decision.
I have tokyo travel 3.18 exploit, I update on my own choice to 3.36, psp game on vita is suck, render not that great, I prefer play psp game on my psp. I buy vita for playing psvita game lol
Yep, they’ll learn the hard way lol Patience is a virtue… It was already clear to stick with 3.18 that can emulate PSP or the potential webkit exploit patched beyond. Nothing happening yet? I’m updating…

Technically anyone can have custom bubbles on 3.36, as long as they have created them in the first place AND THEN updated to 3.36.
This is doable for everybody, as long as you set up the bubbles on 3.18/3.20 and then update to 3.30+.
your not helping why are u being so selfish please share with me how to do anyting on 3.35 i dont have vhbl its justb boring 3.35 maybe over skype or playstation friends

Im sorry if I sound like an idiot, but is it smart to stay on fw 3.35 just incase a 3.35 vhbl comes out, or is there no such thing.
it shouldn’t be a problem, because the VHBL hasn’t been released yet, so Sony can’t patch it unless they know the name of the exploit game. I have a vita on 3.36 so it should be fine 🙂

i am so sick of this i bought my new vita and it went straight to 3.35 so now im on 3.35 no vhbl no custom bubble and so boring i was thinking about seling it but then i said i will wait a lil longer but im so sick of waiting WE NEED VHBL FOR 3.35 OR SOME TYPE OF MOD
Well, thanks for all that you make for the Vita scene, Z. I updated to 3.36, and I will wait all the time that it needs for a VHBL to be released. You are great, everyone who works on this is great. Even if you cannot give anything concrete, you give the hope that, some day, one can be the master of the hardware he purchased. And this is a beautiful goal ! So thanks for the update.
If I want to have a cfw or custom bubles on my vita whats better? to be on 3.35 or on 3.36 will I update my firmware?
Awesome news, but at this point I’m just looking forward to a VHBL for emus. 32GB card is too full of Vita games!
I’m on Firmware 3.35 with no custom bubbles, so unfortunately, this is still useless. It appears that, like the PS3, if you’re over 3.18, there’s no hope of getting homebrew. What a disappointment.

People said that there would be no more exploits after 3.00 but i waited and boom, another one after a whole month of waiting. 3.01 fifa exploit and i had it till my son broke my vita. Nothing has been write since and now i feel like a newbie all over again. i have no clue what these guys are doing nowadays! i just got a used vita already updated to 3.35 so if something comes out for it someone please hit me up with info on how to play free games cus imma broke n!?#a!
