Huge Xbox 360 Dev tools leak plus general info on Xbox 360 DevKits!
Seems the largest dev tools leak of the Xbox 360’s history happened not all that long ago, Oddly enough seems everyone missed it or doesn’t care…
So what is it?
Its a rather large (80GB) collection of Remote and ISO based recoveries plus SDK’s and even a Titan Board dump!, This includes versions with and without symbols/signatures.
For those of you unversed in Xbox lingo a Recovery is what an update to the DevKits are called while a Titan Board is MS’s CPU programming tool.
Remote wha? ISO uh?
I know it might seem odd but it makes plenty of sense, See If your DevKit is fully functional but like many of us do not have access to PNET do to its whitelist(The Dev only Section of Xbox Live) You’ll need some other way of updating your DevKit other then getting them via the Xbox itself. This is where the Recoveries come in, a Remote Recovery is simply an application run on your PC that connects to the DevKit via local network and then proceeds to install whatever kernel and dash version that recovery is for, Thus either getting a fresh install or simply updating.
An ISO Recovery is essentially the same thing but instead of running it from your computer you instead burn it on a disk and run it from the Xbox itself, The point of this is that DevKits will autoboot any disk in its tray regardless if the systems firmware is even working thus if you broke something and the DevKit can’t fully boot you can always run an ISO Recovery and fix that little filly right up!
But there is one little option present in the ISO Recovery that I am very curious about.
Wha? recover as retail!? While it’s possible to run a DevKit as Dev/Retail/Demo with a simple CMD command that is included with the SDK, I am not sure what this option here really does, Does it flash it as 100% retail thus killing it as a DevKit? is it the same as the CMD command that simply runs it as retail but with the possibility to run the command again to set it to Dev again? IDK and as far as I know no one has ever tried it so I guess we will never know.
Well what exactly is included and where do I get it!
KK I have gone on long enough so here ya go! http://z0x.us/v5aa3
Oh? Thought that was a direct link to it? Well of course not! See do to “reasons” I can’t link you to the collection but I do know the links are on pastebin among other places so go and look for “XDK” and see if you find the pastebin! To try and find it in other places you could google for its release name “Microsoft.XBOX360.Development.Collection.MERRY.XMAS-MATTRiCK”
The one I found was 82 Links in total but I have seen Usenet links and Mega links as well.
OP didn’t post pass!
Yep there is a password but while I won’t tell you what it is I did point you to it already.
The password is in the .nfo,, it is the only logical byte that is not part of the description
(I will not write it here out of respect to the uploader, but anyone should be able to figure it out from that)
Whats the point of doing it this way you ask? Weeeellll its just funner this way plus if you can’t even figure that out then what business do you have with SDK’s and DevKits?
If thats not enough for you(I am guilty of over thinking things as well)
did you read the r00lz on the site?
Isn’t it too early to april fools jokes or is this a dream?
2nd, this is boring… if only im really with vita programing i could had done with that hack.. hehe
right, i don’t care too, about recent leak of XBONE SDK too
Right, well no one cares that you don’t care. I’m interested, I’m always interested in these posts for whatever console.
Long before I had dev systems I also found stuff like this cool :3
So are you not posting the actual password to be kind to the leakers? Because I’m pretty sure posting a password wouldn’t create legal liability – you are *reporting,* as shown by your unwillingness to link to the “illegal” material. The hint is fun and all, and probably more than enough info, but it just seems silly. And clearly an obvious “hint” is just as damning as posting the password itself. (which shouldn’t be “damning” at all, but money trumps everything)
But I already showed it to you, Look at the pic of the nfo then look at the bottom. What is down there that is not a part of anything else.
Its very simple.
For the life of me even the given hints cannot help me. Could you possibly give any more hints as to what it is. Apparently I am over thinking this to the extreme because I have been trying for an hour now.
The website at the bottom.
Wow. Well you just made me fell stupid. Guess some of us do overthink it all.
>Oddly enough seems everyone missed it or doesn’t care…
It’s only relevant for DevKit owners anyway, isn’t it? Retail Xbox owners (read: normal humans) have no real use for this, maybe that’s why it’s largely ignored.
I’m similarly baffled why wololo.net is completely silent about recently released IDPS dumping method for OFW PS3s, which is far more important for general population than dev-only materials for the 360.
The bloggers here write about the content they find interesting, and depending on their free time. Sadly, most of the guest bloggers seem to have limited knowledge on he ps3 side, and I myself didn’t have the time to dig into the IDPS stealer release. It’s as simple as that. If you’re interested in becoming a guest blogger to fill such gaps, please do contact me with a PM on /talk.
Thank you for your generous offer, I feel honored. I can’t accept it at the moment sadly, but I’ll be waiting for the better opportunity to take it.
I have a PS3 with CFW that isn’t banned, so I’m not monitoring this very situation in the real time as live reporting requires. The real problem is that I don’t consider my written English good enough for writing anything more serious than comments to articles posted here. But this website has been a valuable source of information for me for a while, so I’ll be glad to contribute something in return when I feel that I can make it useful.
The IDPS dumping tool isn’t really worth mentioning. What’s the point of dumping your OFW PS3 to get your banned CFW one back online? After some time you get banned again and now both are banned? Dosen’t make much sense to me.
Actually it is quite interesting , with the latest introductions of idpsStealer, PS3xport and PeXploit, we are allready able to install packages on OFW consoles (yes super slims aswell) I know, there is no way to actrually run the installed software atm but i think this is a very interesting developement and might lead to something big.
Right, that’s why it was released *after* the way to manipulate PS3 HDD backups had been made known. Everyone can take out and put any files on their OFW PS3s with this and that now, so I expect many pleasant surprises in the (near) future.
I unfortunately don’t have any kind of PS3 so I don’t feel myself qualified to write about such a thing. Sorry :/
Anyone who has an RGH “should” be able to take advantage of this if I’m not mistaken. As you can turn an RGH unit into a devkit. So it’s actually pretty awesome news!!!
Nice article Fate. I did receive your message on Assembler btw, just been busy with life. We will catch up soon.
Thankies! and I sorta misread things when I first saw this so I thought 21256.3 was no longer the latest soooo was looking for help getting what I thought was it.
Still tho it’s always good to keep in touch and just ramble about nothing every once and awhile.
I suppose since the Xbox isn’t going very well, desperate measures are taken (by MSindirectly?).
hmmm… good point… rack up sales for a hackable console with the game developers as collateral damage.
But none of this is of any use to retail Xbox’s even if they are modded. Well the SDK is but everything else would probably brick any JTAG or RGH system even if you are running a Dev kernel.
I still don’t understand how does this matter for any xbox360 owner?
It doesn’t, I just thought it was cool ;_;
Actually… We can fix ours xBoxes with a recovery ISO!
Well, I can’t test it since I don’t have one… But others can do it.
The thing is I can’t find any info on what exactly that retail option does so maybe its what MS uses to reflash retails? IDK >_<
Why do I care? All 5 of my 360’s died from system failure… Leaking all this when the console is this old seems pointless. I migrated to PC.
Should have migrated to PS, now you will never ever get Bloodbourne just like you missed out on Demon’s Souls.
looks like my wallet in a pinch this march,
1) Digimon Story CS
2) Bloodborne
3) Resident Evil Revelation 2
4) Disgaea 5
5) Senran Kagura EV
6) SAO Lost Song
7) One Piece Pirates Musou 3
8) Yakuza 0
Good riddance, no one misses you.
Good read, not into microsoft products though. On the ps3 front, im pretty versed in what goes on the cfw scene, I try to stay as up to date as possible. Hit me up if ya got any questions or need a line on a release or story guys.
Oh? as you might have seen there really isn’t much PS3 news since most of us have no idea but maybe you could write up a post every now and again?
PM wololo if feel like giving it a shot!
best xmas present ever xD
The description was priceless. .D
Thank You Come Again!…..AWESOME!!! APOO!
Since the topic isnt about xbox360 devkit how bout that new 3ds emulator citra…someone
Here you go, this should get you started:

Anyone else having a problem with the ad networks on this site? Every time I try to read an article using my iPhone, I get redirected to the App Store. I know it’s hard to track which ad networks are to blame but its a pain when you want to visit the site on your phone.
Can you send me a screenshot (to wagic.the.homebrew at gmail) of the specific app on the appstore you are being redirected to? We use “respectable” ad networks (Google Adsense and amazon) which are not supposed to do that, so I’ll have a look
Actually senpai I have also had this problem on Android and Windows Phone but figured it was just me….
I’ll take a screenshot if it happens again.
Funnily enough, I had this problem every time I tried using the site until I mentioned it on this article…now nothing! (Which is good!). If it happens again, I’ll be sure to forward the info on to you. Great job on the website btw, and the Twitter account! Good luck with the move!
the xbox 360 sdk has been leaked for a while now…
In the words(more or less) of the great m0skit0
“If you don’t know what you are talking about then keep your mouth shut”
If you would have bothered to even read anything you would known this is much more then one SDK.
