[3DS] Playing your DS games online with WfcReplay (by tardisidiot)

This tutorial is to show you how to get your DS games working online now that Nintendo no longer has it available.
What you need:
- Any model of Nintendo DS or Nintendo 3DS
- An Action Replay DSi (that has been updated to work on the 3DS)
- A game that is compatible
- A legitimate backup of the game you are using
- The latest version of WfcReplay (available here https://github.com/Prof9/wfcreplay/releases)
- A PC to get the Action Replay code
Method:
- Make sure you have all the physical and digital things you need (game, system, ar, wfcreplay, game rom, pc).
- Extract the zipped folder of WfcReplay and place the game rom into the folder after the extraction.
- Drag the rom onto WfcReplay.exe and a command prompt window should open. This will load with a lot of percentages with a line of text.
- After the command prompt window has closed there will be a text file in the WfcReplay folder. Open this to get your Action Replay code.
- Load up your game on your DS/3DS.
- Go to the Wifi Connection Settings inside the game.
- Choose “Options” then “Erase Nintendo WFC Configuration” so that you can erase your system from the Nintendo servers as they are no longer active.
- Now reconnect you DS/3DS to your Wifi connection, after restarting the game, but this time choose “No” for Auto-obtain DNS.
- enter the following DNS into both Primary and Secondary DNS 104.131.93.87
- Test the connection, then once it is finished turn off the system.
- Insert your game into your Action Replay and insert your Action Replay into your DS/3DS.
- Load up the Action Replay and add a new code for the game you are planning to use online, the code is in the text file I said to open in step 4.
- Once you have added the code, make sure all AR codes for your game are off apart from the new online code.
- Load the game through the AR and you should now be able to get online and beat some people at Puzzle League DS, or whichever game you chose.
- Have fun!!!
When it comes to the DS side of things, I had to take photos of Professor Layton and the Curious Village, due to my copy of Puzzle League DS being borrowed by a friend, but it’s the same principle with all the compatible games.

This is great but I didn’t think any DS games worked online anymore as NintenDOH disabled all the DS game servers?
There are private servers. I wrote this tutorial so that people on this site are able to access the private servers. You can do it with the Wii too.
I remember logging into socom us nave seals fire team bravo 3 on my psp to play online for the last time, I got my freakin butt kicked. I would have played a few more rounds if I had known it was the last time. So yeah great to see Loyal fans “of any device” getting to relive realtime glory like this!

That picture you put at the bottom is in the wrong place. It’s supposed to be for part 5, as the game will show up as Game & Watch Collection (or whatever your action replay shows up as) when you use the action replay, and you need to use the action replay throughout the whole process of accessing the online servers.
My wifi passcode is too long for the ds! Is the WEP Key something different?
Yes, the WEP Key is typically an hexadecimal code based on your passcode. Your router should be able to provide it to you
