There is no way nintendo is going to downgrade their eshop version from 20 to 16.

This release is only for Taiwan, China and Korea. all 3 regions missed out on the 9.2 update.

Yep, Hong Kong is always a few steps back with updates. It’s always been that way. I would take this update with a grain of salt.

is there any new home-brew for ninjahax yet? Its been out for a while and i haven’t really seen much new information recently. whats going on?

    Hey look. A typo.

    • Ricky D says:

      Which one?

      • John_Scott says:

Probably the reference to something that dosnt exist like ninjahax. Ninjhax on the other hand does exist.

    • iTeXISts says:

the typo is in this sentence

“It is pretty save to say that the next release of a Nintendo 3DS firmware will definitely fix the NinjaHax Cubic Ninja exploit.”

instead of “save” it should be “safe”

Good god. I thought at least this site would do a little bit of reading before posting such a stupid article. Do you know how the Nintendo 3DS regions and their updates work? At all? Taiwan, where this update is hitting, receives a different system of updates than the rest of the world. If you actually were to look at the official change log for the Taiwanese system versions, you would see that their last update was in the 8.x range. That means that, as of yet, they have not received any of the 9.x updates that the rest of the world has received. This is likely just 9.2 for their region, called 9.3 to designate it differently from 9.2 in the rest of the world.

Taiwan is a region that gets 3DS security and feature updates later, not before the rest of the world. Considering I visit Wololo for my system hacking news, I’m pretty disappointed that this pile of *** actually made your front page.

Yes, 9.3 is coming, to Taiwan. No, 9.3 is not coming to the rest of the world. No, Taiwan is not going to be the first region to get a major exploit blocking security update. You can just about guarantee that Nintendo will not release their next major update until they can get a look at the Gateway files for their latest exploit, and it will likely be designated as 10.x and released in all three major regions fairly close together.

Hmm, thanks for the feedback, as hard as it is, I agree with you that this shouldn’t have been published if it is this way. Being myself very new to the 3DS (got mine specifically for Ninjhax) I am not very familiar with their update schedule and I assumed The_Zett knew about it (he generally knows his stuff, so at any rate, this is only a “one off” situation). I’ll follow up with the_Zett

Looks like the update hit all regions. Tisk, tisk.
