I followed the steps with no issue but I can’t get the remote play button to show up. I’ve tried on my rooted Nexus 7 2012 Wifi running 4.4.4 and on my rooted Galaxy S2 running 4.4.4 Cryogenmod. What am I doing wrong?

Anyone got this to work on a Galaxy S3 GT-I9300? The file flashed fine but in the playstation app all i can do is control the PS4 using the smartphone but not get the screen to show.

So two day ago I got remote play work on my nexus 7 (2013) by reading the xda forum. Took me a hour or two to get it working reason was, I was trying to install the zip file using TWRP . On the 29th page or so on the thread it was said that TWRP did not work for installing the zip file and that you needed to push the file manually.

everyone who wants to try this on android phone/tablet must be running latest firmware aka kitkat.
have a clockwork recovery mode….. follow the instructions above.

note: your phone must NOT be ROOTED!!! otherwise remoteplay app will force close…

If it is not to be rooted, I can give it a try.
Anyway, thanks for the tutorial, its a big step! A tablet is way more comfortable for remote play since many PS4 games are made for the big screen, in order to be comfortable.

The only way I could get it to work( HP touchpad on 4.4 cm11) was to use the manual method from this site:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/ps4-remote-play-t2929147
I also had to use the dualshock workaround 2nd user method to get the dual shock 4 to work ( it is the second post on page ).
Not sure it is worth it, virtually unplayable with lag / freezes ( just playing local, 10 feet from ps4 ). Hopefully a direct Bluetooth method will come soon.

This is NOT a remote play, and I am 100 % sure the writer didn’t even try this guide. This only make your phone an alternative controller for your PS4 !

Umm no sir you are incorrect, this is definitely remote play. PS4 screen outputs on the android device

  18. Gungrave0 says:

So….did not work for me. Just received the regular PlayStation App after rooting etc..
