Who gives a what about first. Never updated so idk

  2. PCM says:

The “standby mode” doesn’t work on my PS4 since the launch day, it just hangs somewhere in the middle, and 2.01 update did not fix it.
Well, I don’t use this mode anyway.

  3. Mizu says:

I just turn it off via the controller. Never use standby mode.
I did encounter a bug recently though, with it not turning on again after updating earlier. Had to reset it via the switch to get it working.
If this update fixes that, all is good 🙂

Same thing happened to me. Couldn’t turn my PS4 on. Had to completely unplug and, as odd as it is, it wouldn’t turn on with the power button. Had to use the eject button to power it on. LOL

    • Eric The Aussie says:

Is it weird that I could turn off my PS4 by just pressing the power button as opposed to holding it until the second beep for the first few weeks I had it? It suddenly just changed, and I had to hold down the button from there .

  4. Speedy says:

Thinking of buying a second ps4 during the holiday sale does anyone knows where can I download fw 1.76.

  5. sandy says:

Is there an option to turn off auto update..Or will ps4 work without updating like can I play games?I am in 1.76 🙂

  6. BahamutBBob says:

2.0 made my PS4 go in to super “rest” mode. I hope 2.01 fixes this for me.

I have no interest in exploiting my home consoles, as I do plenty of stuff online with them, and don’t want that blocked. I am very interested in exploiting my handhelds, however.

  7. AsDraS says:

‘turning the console off and off again’ wait.. what? 😀

  8. YZ Rum says:

Same here bruh. It too expensive to exploit a console. Cuz you have to think about replacing the system if something goes wrong, such as if it gets bricked. It’s much safer to exploit a handheld and cheaper to replace

    • Ziken says:

Not to mention, you’ve already paid $50 for PS+ membership and got all those games. No point in staying on 1.75 OFW when you’re paying to play online.

But there are other reasons to buy another console just for that, but as of now, there probably won’t be much point til PS4 library starts to expand more.

  9. Raziel says:

2.0 lower all headset sounds and made it hard to hear my teammates in Destiny while firing was going on

  10. Matt says:

Not sure if it’s 2.0 related but my ps4 worked great but after playing for two hours it made a click sound and complete power down and now it won’t turn back on when I try it flashes blue clicks and powers off right away . Waiting for Sony to send me return shipping box ? Ugh..

Wololo, would you possibly show me where I should begin with programming? Goal is to get where these developers with the vita are today.

Always been confused on where to start but now ive got time on my hands lol.

      College?

    • Casavult says:

Never had an issue with the PS4 since launch but the reported bugs that were introduced in 2.00 were things I was experiencing. Thankfully, 2.01 has fixed the Rest Mode bug for me as well as fixes YouTube signing in and uploading videos to it. 🙂

Luckily for you the WebKit stuff is largely in Python and JavaScript, two relatively easy and extremely widespread languages. You’ll need to understand computer science to some extent (not afraid of hexadecimal, know what a register is, what a buffer overflow is and why it can be exploited, preferably understand some ARM or another kind of assembly language, learn about ROP and why we need to use it). This is not a weekend, or even a month long undertaking if you’re starting from zero. People spend a HUGE amount of time researching and experimenting to accomplish what they’re doing right now. As for you, download Python 2.7 and Capstone, pull memtools_vita from Github, and get cracking. Read through some of the code – you won’t understand much of it at first, but if you’re dedicated you’ll get there and start writing your own. Most of what you need to start you can find with Google. Once you’re to the point where you can tweak things and get something done, get in touch with the devs. Good luck.

lol Yeah, it wont be done over night and much trial & error even for experienced developers. and people who say this mean well but no chance… I’m familiar with HTML, etc, and you can become too fixated if autistic, hehe! Somebody I know gets stressed with it as a job web/graphic designing but good money. Being creative is fun, though. I may get a new white PS4 after all because I am interested in the custom potentials PS4 could do like Linux or even Windows and custom drivers or applications/homebrew, just because you can, not piracy (although PS4 basically dumps games anyway) as I appreciate purchasing games and updated anyway.

  12. I read several good stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how much effort you put to make such a wonderful informative website.
