September Contest winners announced + October contest details
First off I want to apologize to everyone (especially Wololo) for being a bit late this past week starting and ending contests. I’ve been really busy at work. Anyways, I’m here again to announce last month’s winners and details about Octobers contests
Over at the Wololo.net/Talk forums Wololo himself likes to reward users for posting their original tutorials for various consoles. The reward is always US PSN codes which you can use to buy exploit games or even themes in the near future. He gives away $60 every month for these contests just to bring new content to /Talk. He even gives out an extra $10 code for the tutorial that had the most votes across all sections. Anyone can enter their original tutorial by following the forum and contest rules. You just have to post a link to the tutorial in the appropriate submission sticky thread.
Here’s the contest rules for those that haven’t read them yet:
- Your guide/Tutorial can be any guide/Tutorial related to the Vita/PSP/PS3/PS4/ or 3DS
- Your guide/tutorial must be original content and not previously published on other sites
- If submitting a previously posted tutorial it will need to have significant updates to qualify
- Do not make new accounts just to vote for your own tutorial. That’s also a violation of the duplicate accounts rule here on /Talk
- “Tutorials” such as this one will not be accepted, Put some effort into it or don’t bother at all
Please note the following two fairly new rules:
- Before entering, be sure to read this guide on making tutorials
- You are only allowed to enter with one tutorial for each console. eg. you cannot have two PSVita tutorials, but you can have a PSVita and a PS3 tutorial. You will be able to choose which enters if you make two in the same console.
Now for the submission threads:
Now here’s the winners of last months contests:
For the PS3 contest this month, there was only one entry. That would be psgravity’s tutorial on Creating ISO games for your CFW PS3
The PSP section also only had one entry this month. Which is patrickneyl’s tutorial on Converting PSP saves from one region to another
It was pretty close between two tutorials in the PSVita contest this month. But in the end, ryuzen’s Download games using IDM for PC won with only one vote ahead of lightningthb’s Noob guide for installing TN-V on 3.18.
The PS4 section wasn’t even close for Chrizzz1508’s tutorial on Sharing PSN content with a friend which only got 3 votes. The winner this month with a big 20 votes was alexrivera and his tutorial on Playing media files on PS4 via a web server.
The 3DS section was another one that kind of shocked me with votes between tutorials. Crizzz1508 got 2nd again with his tutorial on Transferring your Mii Characters from WiiU to 3DS. He only got 2 votes for that one. The winner for this month was vitaboss’s tutorial on How to use Acekard2i card on your 3DS. He got a whopping 22 votes for that tutorial and recieved the extra $10 bonus for having the most votes across all sections.
Congrats to those folks and good luck to all future participants!
Nice tutorials
I would just like to point out you spelt “Chrizzz1508” in the ps4 section but “Crizzz1508” in the 3ds. I don’t mean to be a nitpick on word but I noticed it.
All in all, great share and great tutorials.
well done people!
This PS3 TuT, sorry to say should not of been an entry (just my opinion for what it’s worth): There is facts that are wrong and the app is so simple to use as it was designed to be a noob friendly GUI for Estwald’s ISO tools.
Here is a snippet from the read me file of the developer:
“Usage:
—————
Pretty self-explanatory… read the tool-tips”
Problem with info in TuT:
–The tut makes NO mention of what is needed to run PS3ISO on a CFW as a standard CFW would need additional apps and such. Should of been mentioned.
This from the Tut.
“An External Hard Drive in FAT32 format is not compatible with your iso backup via WEBMAN except with as backup manager such as Irisman.”
That would be incorrect. ISO are compatible with FAT32. (Spit Iso’s work just fine over 4GB+, been a Cobra feature since it’s USB days)
In webMAN or any backup manager. they would work. that does not matter…
