The day the Vita scene imploded: more than 50 game exploits leaked
(Download links below). If you’ve followed the Vita hacking scene over the past 2 days, you’ve definitely noticed that “stuff” has been going on. Without going into details (mostly because I don’t know them, and I would probably be just adding fuel to the fire), internal issues within the hacking team behind most of the past 2 years’ vita (psp emulator) exploits have led some of it members to “leak” their own work.
This started yesterday with famous developer qwikrazor87 revealing a psp kernel exploit which was supposed to be released much later this year by the team. That kernel exploit works today on the Vita’s latest firmware (3.18) and you should grab it while it works.
Today, the internal conflict escalated, with Acid_Snake releasing more than 50 undisclosed psp usermode exploits, about 35 of which have been ported to VHBL. Now, given the amount of files in that archive, it is difficult for me to instantly tell you if all of these work perfectly, if some of them are just old exploits, or undisclosed exploits that have been patched in recent firmwares by Sony, totally new exploits, or old games that had been exploited in the past and for which a new exploit has been found.
If you missed Gladiator Begins, here’s all of @qwikrazor87‘s exploits, pick one that works with VHBL: https://t.co/nxxXiBR9xq

I can at least tell that Patapon and Patapon 2, which you will find in the list below, are a new exploit, because this is the one we intended to release with Qwikrazor87 as a VHBL ninja release for Firmware 3.30. Gladiator begins is also a new exploit, which was revealed yesterday by Qwikrazor87, to go with his kernel exploit. I will not have the time to test all of these myself of course, but feel free to comment, if you own the games, on which VHBL ports actually work, and which ones don’t.

The leaked archive contains VHBL ports for the following games:
- Arcade Air Hockey and bowling
- Armored Core 3 Portable
- Armored Core Silent Lines Portable
- Arcade Darts
- Ben 10 Protector of Earth
- Crime Spree
- Cubixx
- Disgaea2
- Gladiator Begins (previously revealed by Qwikrazor87 here)
- Go! Sudoku
- Hero Of Sparta
- International Athletics
- Jikan De Fantasia
- Jikandia: The timeless Land
- Karakuri
- Kazook
- Knight Fortix 2
- Mawaskes
- 101 in 1 Megamix
- Me Monstar: Hear me roar
- Mimana Iyar Chronicle
- MyStylist
- Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact
- N.O.V.A
- Robin Hood The Return Of Richard
- Patapon
- Patapon 2
- Persona 2
- Pool Hall Pro
- Puzzle Scape
- Sid Meier’s Pirates!
- Space Invaders Extreme
- Skate Park City
- Talkman Travel Tokyo
- Tokobot
- Ultimate Ghosts ‘n Goblins
- World of Pool
The leaked Archive also contains “Hello world” (vulnerability proof of concept) for the following games:
- Arcade Essentials
- Bashi Blocks
- Block Cascade Fusion
- Duael Invaders
- Field Commander
- FieldRunners (new exploit)
- Fight Night Round 3
- Key of Heaven
- Kingdom of Paradise (Tenchi no mon)
- Manic Monkey Mayhem
- Numblast/Qruton
- Petz Hamsters Bunch
- Spinout
- Sweet Fuse: At your side
- Vertigo
Finally, the leaked archive mentions the following games: God of war – Ghost of sparta and Tiny Hawk. It also contains critical information about PS1 exploits in games such as Tekken 2, which can allegedly be used within the PS1 classic games to run PS1 isos with sound (something that was not possible perfectly on TN-V).
Full working and bugless PSX sound can be achieved by buying either Tekken 2 or Sports Superbike 2, they are exploitable, no need for PEOPS.

Additionally, the archives leaked by Acid_Snake seem to contain additional psp kernel exploits.
It appears most of the exploits in this archive where Qwikrazor87’s work, although some files have been contributed by other members of the Oilix hacking team (of which both Qwikrazor87 and Acid_Snake were founding members)
People on firmware 3.18 should start and test the various VHBL ports or Hello world files disclosed in the archives (download links below). For those of you who don’t want to test or wait, the best option today is to grab gladiator begins, which has been ported to Qwikrazor87’s kexploit and TN-V. Theoretically, all the games above could be used to run TN-V on firmware 3.18, but for each one of these it would take a good soul to actually port the kernel exploit and get TN-V to run. I am not sure how easy that is, but I’m sure we’ll see things showing up in the days to come.
It is very likely that Sony will use this huge archive to strengthen their security within the PSP emulator. I would expect the 50+ games mentioned above to be gone from the PSN stores within a few days, and Sony’s engineers will probably have a look at some of the other material to fix kernel exploits inside the PSP emulator, in time for the next Vita firmware 3.30.
This is the biggest leak ever in all of the PSP/Vita scene’s history. To give you a sense of perspective, this is a waste, in one day, of (give or take) twice the amount of game exploits that have been publicly released in all the 9 years of existence of the PSP/Vita.
Some people on twitter have argued that this could mean positive things for the Vita scene moving forward: this will force the Vita hacking scene to start looking into native hacks rather than being slowed down by psp hacking.
I have in general been strongly opinionated about such leaks, and I personally feel this is the worst leak in the psp/vita scene’s history. But as always, I am sure these devs have reasons to have done what they have done here, so I’ll avoid making any judgement call at this point, at least while I discuss the matter privately with the Oilix team, our mods and other involved parties. What I can guarantee is that this will shake the existing Vita scene to its core.

“Armored Core 3 Portable
Armored Core Silent Lines Portable”
*cries*
AC3P’s VHBL is really good tho., maybe not the best one but it worked pretty good. 😛
will you do an article on how to make tekken 2 exploit work?? I’m getting error after triggering the exploit.. Since it’s ps1 only i don’t need 660.pbp right?
Working on it. Bear with me, this is leaked material so nothing was ready (tutorials, etc…) on our end. Hopefully some of our guest bloggers will have some stuff to share asap
There is a youtube video.
Yeah, crashes for me on 3.18
SMH, This could have lasted for at least 2, 3 years tops. But nooooo, Lets leak it. Well Merry christmas everyone. Enjoy it.
I hate Acid_Snake sometimes…
Besides being a huge leak, it is an opening for native hacks inside the vita instead of the psp emu.
So, Wololo, do you think it’s a negative thing for the scene altogether? What I’m curious about is do you think it will push for more native work. Obviously it is a travesty to the community and has destroyed a LOT of work and opportunity to explore things but I’m just curious.
It could help pushing Native further, yes. But I don’t think people working on psp exploits was really slowing down native hacks. It’s just that native hacks are difficult as heck.
The problem is that more people are capable of exploiting the PSPemu… barring some huge breakthrough, there wasn’t really much talent being “wasted” on the PSPemu since the barriers to a native hack are too high. It’s possible that this will encourage native development, but what a native hack really requires is more interest from the more general and qualified hacking community.
I tend to agree with mlc here.
As you implied, it might push the devs towards native Vita hacks since finding exploits all over again might be a pain, after all of these were released in a single day! I don’t know what feeling to express right about now. I was going to wait for the game that would be announced for VHBL on 3.30 since the devs have been emphasizing that it had a very high compatibility with both CEF and VHBL but it has been leaked, I have to grab it now.
So I want to make sure I get the right game, WOLOLO can you please answer? Patapon and Patapon 2, which should I get? Which of them were you referring to as having high compatibility when it was still private? Thanks.
Never mind, I got all three, Patapon, Patapon 2 and Gladiator Begins. I am using GB for CEF (TN-V). I got Patapon 2 because I wanted to test the “Hello World” program.
According to The Z, Patapon 2 can also be used for TN-V. Can anyone lead me to the savedata, I only found the savedata for GB. Thanks in advance.
The Z released the Save Data for Patapon 2 but it’s only for the EU version not the US, so I’m unsure if it’s compatible or not.. Someone else had linked one for the US but one person who tried it said it didn’t work. If you find a US version could you link me to it?
Also, since this is now public, which of them were you planning to do a Ninja Release on? Sorry, if this is annoying, not with regards to the question itself but making reference to the Ninja Release that was meant to happen that won’t be happening anymore.
Wow that was unexpected
I have the first Patapon, and I tried it out, Patapon 1 only has 20mb available to use.
enough for the best VHBL ever on the Vita and enough for eCFW.
You said in your latest video that Patapon 2 can run TN-V. Can you please provide the link to the savedata for Patapon 2.
Thanks.
Brace Yourself….PSN Shutdown is coming
this means we can update and start using the old games with new exploits ? am i right
Damn, none of these games are avaiable at brazilian psn…
101 in 1 Megamix EU
FW 3.18
lolnope, corrupted data
so is there going to be an exploit for the 3.30? I hope thre is I want the theme
No. To make things clear, this is years of work that have been released at once, all the exploits the scene knew about, representing about 10% of all PSP games available on the PSN store. The probability of finding new exploits for 3.30 is now extremely low.
Here’s hoping someone finds a new kexploit for 3.30+ by winter 2015…I feel like even that date is hoping for too much though. Time to get a 2nd Vita guys, looks like that’s the only way it’ll be worth keeping the exploits especially 6+ months after the fact and the firmware after 3.30 is released.
“Speedz0r” Fieldrunners EU Hello World on 3.18 works!
What I really don’t understand is why Acid_Snake believed qwikrazor87 would really release multiple exploits simultaneously, when that is a complete waste. It seems like he overreacted and did this to hurt qwikrazor87 (perhaps because he was hurt by qwikrazor87’s initial Twitter leak), and that’s not particularly cool. I can’t imagine people would be particularly comfortable collaborating with either of them, until it becomes clear what the argument was and if any 3rd parties were harmed. (TN seemed somewhat offended about his help on the PS1 sound exploits being released in this way)
He probably did it because it would eventually happen really soon, so that he would stop the sh*t as soon as possible.
Not sure about why he released the PSone thing though
Are you guys SURE these really are exploited games? and not just someone trying to screw over the community and make them buy pointless games? or even a way to screw over Sony? making them patch games pointlessly and holding back Vita firmware development/costing Sony money by forcing them to remove games and thus they cant sell while offline?
Personally I too think it was a big waste, we could have used them from time to time over the next few years at the LEAST!
Hopefully as others said, we can finally get some progress into natively hacking the Vita!
I can guarantee those are real. I know Acid_Snake, Qwikrazor, and the rest of the Oilix team well enough to personally guarantee this is not an attempt at some gigantic hoax. We would not do “jokes” like that on this site, except maybe on April first.
I still remember when Acid_Snake was banned :p
Ok mate, thanks for the heads up!
Btw can you recommend any of the exploited games for my Aussie account? Glad Begins isnt on the Aus store!
Fieldrunners (mini?), Patapon 1 or 2? Something with high compatibility and that can work with a TN-V!
Cheeers, Stephen!
Honestly not sure, I haven’t tried any of them, but people seem to recommend FieldRunners and Patapon the most, actually. FieldRunners because it loads fast, Patapon because it has been tested a lot with VHBL for the upcoming release
Patapon 1 or 2?
Oh and I heard that mini’s can only run things less size then the game, and Fieldrunners is like 20mb…or is this not true?
File size limit is true for FieldRunners. I would advise against it.
God save us all. Everything seems to be falling part in the last few weeks
People who grabbed Patapon some time ago when it was made free (due to a celebration, I think), rejoice! 🙂
I’m pretty upset I bought GB when I had patapon. Is it working, and does it do vbhl or ecfw?
yup, i grabbed it for free
I’m currently on 3.15 with 101. With all of this new info, what is the best possible thing for me to do?
I’d say update to 3.18 and get Fieldrunners as long as you can.
It is tiny and extremely fast, just have to wait until someone updates the files to startup the eCFW. (Hello world works, tested it just now.)
I don’t have 100 in 1 so I can’t tell if it runs on 3.18.
mini’s are limited to running anything less than there own file size. unless they found away around this…
I’m thinking of updating to 3.18 and buying fieldrunners, gladiator begins, and tekken 2. I have patapon from when it was free, anyone think this is a bad idea?
Actually in on 3.01 with 101 megamix
I’d argue it’s a good move, and hopefully this is a hint at some sort of native exploit coming in the future. I’ve given up on TN-V and VHBL because I like having the ability to go online and do remote play on my PS4, I just bought a $50 PSP Go for all my PSP needs. Interesting to see what comes in the next few days if anything.
Can somebody confirm patapon works, i got it for free and i want to know i can astill play ps1,psp and emulators before I upgrade i am still with the uno hacks
Why don’t you just try it yourself?!!!
I believe the loader files are out!
Kernel exploits work for the firmware on which they are found and below, give it a try.
Is it worth buying Patapon 2? is the exploit still going to be released? for 3.18 or 3.30?
And should we get Patapon 1 or 2?
Ive already got Gladiator Begins for my US account, but I need an exploit for my Aussie one….so is it worth buying? As Glad Begins isnt on the Aussie store but Pata 1 and 2 are!
I already had the patapon game, i tried the save data and i dont even know what to do with this.. what is it for? Im curious

replace the default menu with 138 menu ( http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/8184 ) and you’ll be able to start copying emulators, homebres, etc… to your vita
ohh i see. Thanks a lot!
How do i install this menu? i put the eboot and the other files in my savedata folder then copied it but when i start the VBHL the menu does not show up.
As $ony has blocked the PSP from accessing the PSN it looks like they are starting to kill it off. I guess really soon they will release a firmware for the Vita without PSP support as thats what they do. They promise one thing then break that promise.
The best thing they could do is just ignore these exploits and just keep going with the Vita side. There will always be an exploit and they cant stop them all. If they ignored them and made the Vita better it would be the best thing to do. Make everyone happy but no $ony are dumb *** and they will fight really hard against exploits on an obsolete system which is really stupid.
Thats like Micro$oft patching Windows 3.11 now. why bother.
They will never remove PSP support (except perhaps in a later model) because they actively sold PSP games to PS Vita users as Vita compatible. That would be a much bigger deal than removing OtherOS.
Oh, and out of all those games i own 1. LOL
Is “Sports Superbike 2” actually on US PSN as I can’t seem to find it?
search for XS moto
Fieldrunners works you it 3.18 ?thank you for your réponce .
i only have tekken 2, so i can only use ps1exploit to play ps1 games?
So, we should all buy Tekken 2 right now?
wew i dont know how to use the files that i download so maybe ill wait for a tutorial before i can try to 101 in 1 megamix later
I’m in 3.01 with 101 megamix tn-v. Should I update to 3.18. I have patapon from when it was free. Should I buy any of these leaked games? I know I want ps1 so probably tekken. What about fieldrunners it gladiator begins?
So just to make sure….these are all psp kernel exploits…nothing on the vita kernel right?
PSP only thats right, currently no way to exploit Vita games, just the PSP Emulator in the Vita!
I download the files for tekken 2 (US) and tried the exploit and it didnt work. Just froze and got error?
me too, it didnt work(tekken 2_US )
Are people recommending Patapon 1 or 2 Wololo? And is it true that if we were to use Fieldrunners (a 20mb mini) that we can only run homebrew/ISO’s that are less than the size of the game (in this case 23mb)? or do the exploited mini’s work just like PSP based ones?
Thanks!
Does the ps1 loader work on the PSVita TV? Everytime I try and load it the game crashes this is with the US SLUS00213 bought from the hong kong store. The EU SCES00255 exploit loads fine under Tekken 2 on my regular vita.
US Version doesn’t Works for now. We have to wait for fixed version.
ok cool thx.
Okay. Thank you for the info @anderson. I will keep posted for fix…
im a little confused.so is patapon able to run ecfw? im still buming around on the 3.01 ben 10 exploit and would like to be able to update and still have ecfw capabilitys.. any responses are much appreciated
just a simple yes or no answer is fine. if yes i plan to update and wait patiently i dont mid
The Z ////// September 14, 2014 at 5:47 am ///////
seems vhbl only. cheers for the reply buddy
I installed the vbhl with gladiator begins. but i have NO idea how to install homebrew or even the 138 menu.
can somebody help me?
But why??? I really don’t understand :s I’m pretty sure Acid and Qwik had an argument but this is a kindergarten class move 🙁
Do these exploits work for TN?
