So I’m new to the Vita hack scene, but I do know the basics. Get a game after announced here, get the exploit file, profit.
What I’m hoping someone can answer is, how long do I have to get a game before Sony takes it down? How do I get the exploit onto the Vita if we need to go through CMA every time? And finally, will I still be able to play my digital Vita games?

Also, how do I get the 3.15 exploit once released, because there is a 3.18 update now? I can’t access PSN without updating.

Thank you in advance. And thanks to all the hackers too~

    • jonas says:

the exploit will most likely be released for the latest official fw, but will also work on lower fw’s.
the only difference is that if you’re on a lower fw, you’ll need a ps3 to transfer the game to your vita, if you’re on the latest, you can download it directly to the vita via PS store.

      • jonas says:

you can also create a backup of the exploit game with openCMA, this way, you can still install it even after it’s removed from the store

        • rodakk says:

When the exploit for eCFW gets released, do you know if we’d also need another PSP exploited game to get to the VHBL first? I’m still on the 3.15, I heard about the Skate Park City exploit, but it’s only for VHBL… I’d love to get an eCFW and I’m not sure if I should buy the game while it’s still available.

          • JCK07115 says:

An emulated custom firmware (eCFW) which is the result of a kernel exploit provides all the functions expected from a native PSP hack (yes, PSP). It provides the ability to play third-party applications/user-developed programs a.k.a homebrews as well as the running of game/umd dumps in the form of isos and csos. Hence, the answer is no, if you do get an eCFW for the Vita (ARK or TN-V), you can perform both the functions of a usermode exploit (VHBL – homebrews and emulators) and a kernel mode exploit (PSP isos, mainly). If you are in EU, I would say, “Get the game, it’s approximately 7 Euros.” As for NA users, the new VHBL exploited-game, Zettai Hero Project is about $20. To that I say, “No, thanks! I will wait for the expected kernel exploit which works on 3.15.”

          • JCK07115 says:

BTW, when I said, “Get the game,” to EU PSN users, I meant Skate Park (duh) hehe

    • JCK07115 says:

The Z showed a trick to get games from the PS Store without accessing the PS store on the Vita. Just buy the exploitable game on/from the desktop version of the PlayStation Store and there is an option to download the game onto the Vita upon the Vita restarting. But make sure the “auto-update upon restart” setting is off on your Vita. Once you put off and put on your Vita, the game should automatically start downloading in your live area. Here is the article, it was based on Freakler’s VHBL release yesterday (the game is available only in the EU region):

Could people please abondon the psp emulator completely and concentrate their valuable time and energy on the actual challenge of hacking the actual vita.

My only question which game is it if its one that was exploited before i had a few for diff firm versions im wondering if i have it or not may some sort of vauge indirect hint like is or was it on the USA store also to my recollection if it was a previously exploited game arent they taken off psnstore if so why would there be no release why not only release it to trusted people who had the game previously only.

    • JCK07115 says:

Previously exploited games are usually returned to the Store after the exploit has been patched so that Sony and the publishers can keep making money off it. So it should be for everyone, as it has always been. This community is for sharing.

  8. Jefphar says:

Seems Sony have already released 3.18, If this exploit needs a PSN game it seems 3.15 cannot open the Playstation store and will this TN-V version work on 3.18?

    • Trunk208 says:

this should be release in 3.18 since like u say 3.15 can’t go to psn store

      • JCK07115 says:

  10. XploZiiVe_RiPPeR says:

Guys, System Software update 3.18 for the vita bugged me today

    • JCK07115 says:

You can use a proxy tool to bypass the update. Just get the Vita update file (it’s an XML file); modify it based on what firmware you want to trick the Vita into thinking you are updating to and while running the update, intercept the update while using the proxy tool (e.g. Skfupr0xy) and then transmit the modified version of the update file and run the update on your Vita. There, you just bypassed the update. You can also check the Internet, which we are on, for a more-detailed version of my response.

  11. XploZiiVe_RiPPeR says:

Which makes me wonder, was Sony waiting for the exploit to get released? Well the lucky ones got it. Enjoy 😀

  12. perstrone says:

how much the exploit game? or how much psn card/s do I keep for the exploit game?

  13. raph says:

so with the release of 3.18, can we expect the release of this hack for 3.15 soon?

    • JCK07115 says:

Hopefully, the kernel exploit that works on 3.15 still works on 3.18 because it will (if it is) be released after the update and Sony couldn’t have patched an exploit that hasn’t even happened (or been released) unless they patched every possible entrance into a kexploit which I doubt they have done because they are not as industrious as our hackers to find a flaw (unsigned code) on their own. They have to wait for our hackers here to give them a lead by releasing an exploit and then they (obviously Sony) run along to go patch it. So, maybe soon, maybe not but it should be expected; it gives a nostalgic effect which should last you long enough until the exploit is released :/

  14. zeyazhu says:

this means those who recently updated to 3.18 are losers? sad story.
well, we only can expect the unfixed bug?

  15. deathbydevice says:

Released at psx scene so go there. The game is Zettai Hero Project (aka Z.H.P)

    • Buzzcut says:

This guy is just blowing smoke, right?

      • deathbydevice says:

Just go to psxscene its on the home page. I could be wrong but its there for 3.15

      • Ratman says:

This is real. They’ve released an exploit for the Japanese version and the EU/US versions are to follow. I’ve just bought the game which was a bit on the expensive side but oh well. I just got it from the UK store so grab it and wait for the exploit files to be release soon.

        • Yukon says:

They have to confirm if its kernel worthy or not. I’m not able to drop $20 just for an HBL.

        • Buzzcut says:

I didn’t realize he was talking about a different website. I thought he was talking about the PSX section in the forums… Anyways, that’s a bit much for me to spend to maybe get the exploit. I’ll wait for news from wololo.

          • Ratman says:

It is a bit much yeah. I only just got my Vita so am going to test this out and see what i can do with it myself, and just to familiarise. But a kernel hack on it would be awesome.

      • Ratman says:

Well i can only hope that it does come out on the EU and US versions but i didn’t want to take the risk and bought the game. Currently it’s highly experimental so i just got the game and will wait for a stable/improved release. Great work!

  16. Lord Darton Staker says:

Following the scene closely, really need to see what develops from this, highly anticipating!

  17. Zach says:

I hope we get another exploit game soon. I got a forced update by using a memory card with a higher firmware, so I majorly sc*** myself.

  18. Ratman says:

Just downloaded the new exploit game Zettai Home Project on UK store. Now just to wait for the exploit files. Really excited as i just entered the PS Vita hacking scene, with my newly purchased 3.15 Vita.

Grab the game before it goes from the Store! Good luck everyone!

    • deathbydevice says:

I just don’t get why the release was on another site and not this one.

      • Yukon says:

I stopped playing my Vita due to the lack of good games on it. I’ve been waiting and waiting for Sony to finally release a 5 star game to the Vita such as GTA San Andreas or Titanfall. Never heard of it since. They’re working on indie games……

        • deathbydevice says:

I feel you on that. The only reason I use my vita is to play ff7 cause the ps3 and psp makes it look horrible IMO. I got a PSP that runs homebrew on it anyway.

A native vita hack is what I’m waiting for, maybe someone will slap a xmb style fw on it. I wish Sony did from the start.

          • Yukon says:

The only reason I started playing my Vita for the first time in 4 months is cause my Xbox Live membership is up and the games aren’t good enough for me to renew it. I might renew it when Destiny hits, though.

        • Ratman says:

Yeah i agree totally. This exploit is currently for Japanese versions and is highly experimental. The exploit files for US/UK aren’t out yet so maybe when this info is more solid Wololo will update. I just had to get the game as I’ve not yet explored a single exploit.

But yeah i didn’t buy the Vita for that very reason until recently because i saw it for £80 so i just bought it. I really just play PS1s that i never got to play when i was a kid with the exception of one or two Vita games. A kernel hack would be amazing. Would love to revive my PSP games and some PS1s not on the store like Croc and Diablo or Family Guy The Game.

  19. Nick says:

Im confused, If i put an exploit on my game does that mean, I can’t access any online features with the exploit? Will I be able to update the game and still use the exploit and online?

    • Ratman says:

Using an exploit means you can still use online features and update the game etc. However ONLY if the firmware of your exploited Vita is the same as the latest official firmware. If Sony release a new higher firmware the you will lose all online functionality. You’ll be able to play existing games that don’t force you to update, but newer games and online features will need an update, hence a dilemma occurs. Exploit functionality with no addition official content from Sony or all official content from Sony with online functionality with no exploit.

  20. Lord Darton Staker says:

releasing this info too soon can spoil it for the rest to be honest- this I suppose couldve been handled differently from the Z- but In any case at least more people can have access to this…I suppose this comes close as the new found news of possible kernel for 3.15- this makes me nervous, Hope that The Z has good cause for this?

Anyway, good news but I hope that more news for 3.15 comes to light.

    • Yukon says:

Is this the exploit used for the TN-V? If not, I’m not buyin’.

      • Lord Darton Staker says:

It could lead to one, just don’t expect it to.

        • JCK07115 says:

Hey Darton, remember me? This shouldn’t spoil it, it should give a nostalgic effect in hopes of a kexploit for Vita OFWs 3.15 and higher (possibly, as it might not have been patched by Sony on the 3.18 exploit). The game this was tested on was not mentioned hence, the path into which the Vita was exploited is unknown to Sony so just sit back and enjoy the news, cheer our devs and boo Sony lol

  21. Joker says:

    • Lord Darton Staker says:

Wololo is apparently on “Holiday” or so i’ve read..

      • Yukon says:

What happened to The Z or Acid_Snake? Pretty ridiculous how my source page is late on a kernel potential exploit. It’s gonna be taken off the PlayStation Network before they post it. I need to know if it’ll have TN-V. I can get Child of Light or Trials fusion for that much. I’m not about to spend $20 on an HBL that only supports 40% of home brew. If I have to pay that much, I rather have TN-V or ARK. If the prce was $2 – $6, I would’ve bought it by now.

        • Conjo says:

          READ THE FORUMS
The_Z posted info there, and they can’t post anything here without wololo “approving” posts
And no, it doesn’t include a kxploit, but remember that future kxploit can be ported to usermode exploits

          • DTeKDeV says:

Would’ve been a better comment if you gave him/her a link to the topic.

          • JCK07115 says:

“Future exploits can be ported to usermode exploits?” Do you mean a usermode exploit can be used to trigger a kernel mode exploit? If you were trying to say that a kexploit has all the functions of a usermode exploit (homebrew- and emulator-support, including the running of PSP isos/csos within an eCFW, then you worded it wrongly, somewhat.

          • Conjo says:

“Do you mean a usermode exploit can be used to trigger a kernel mode exploit?”
            Yes
There is no kernel exploit on games, they are on the (emulated) system, all the games are just usermode exploits, and these are necessary to trigger a kernel exploit.
Basicly: A game that currently have only a usermode exploit (that can run VHBL or some small code) should be able to trigger a kernel mode exploit on the system.
And if a kernel exploit is publicly released it will probably be backported to those usermode exploits.
            http://wololo.net/2014/06/28/ps-vita-and-the-new-vhbl-exploitable-game-for-firmware-3-15-is/comment-page-1/#comment-2130700

          • JCK07115 says:

Actually, not all games that can run unsigned code via a usermode exploit can be used to trigger a kexploit. If it was that way, we should have as many eCFW exploits as we do VHBL exploits.

And yes, there is (obviously) no kernel exploit on games but on the firmware of the system itself which in this case is the emulated custom firmware (the PSP). When we do get a kernel exploit of the Vita itself, we have a native Vita hack. I can’t wait for that to happen hehe 😀

          • Conjo says:

“we should have as many eCFW exploits as we do VHBL exploits.”
            This speaks by itself: http://www.zload.net/bilder/PSVita/VitaExploitChart.png

          • JCK07115 says:

Hahaha, great point, Conjo. Although, my point was that all those games were initially released as usermode exploits before further work was done on them. There is an earlier version of that picture (the one you attached) that proves my point.
