why not believing Sony for once?

    • hinata says:

Because all the past update that “improved stability” was just to patch exploits and not actually improve stability.

      • CycloneFox says:

… Which is only based on our observation, that exploits on other systems didn’t function anymore after such “system stability” patches.

But on the other hand, we don’t really know, what else these patches do, as there is no chance to actually view a code change history of a patch. And as there is no publicly known exploit of the PS4, yet, we can safely assume, that those patches are not mean blacklist entries that block possible PS4 exploits, just because evil Sony wants to destroy all of their poor users fun. They are likely actual fixes of unsafe code of the PS4s OS and/or its applications.
The end user may not take a lot of note of this, as he or she will never experience a possible crash, that was fixed. So most people see these patches as annoying or disturbing, but they are not as useless as most articles on the internet represent them. It is just a not-requested service.

        • hinata says:

Although it maybe true that these patches might actually fix something the issue is instead of these updates every few months just to “improve stability” Sony could have put in some effort and give the user some of the features they have been requesting for months now.

    • hinata says:

Maybe because all those other updates from Sony that “improved stability” didn’t actually improve stability but was just to patch exploits.

  2. Nope says:

F#ck these useless “stability improvement” updates. Third one in a row.

  3. Infection says:

lol Damn this update its stopping me remote playing on my vita from work!

  4. NakedFaerie says:

Thats what I thought when I say it. 1 tiny comment is the update. “System Stability”
They could’ve added MP4 support to sweeten the deal for us but no, its $ony

  5. JCK07115 says:

For the record, I was the first person to officially say “first.” Also, can anyone spot the somewhat oxymoron in the title of this article 😀 ? I love words, hehe

    • JCK07115 says:

Also, in relation to the typical “fixes stability issues”, most OS X updates always list the same first three to four fixes. It is always “fixes some security threats, fixes stability issues, removes some kind of non-existent existing bug”. It’s really annoying. They should provide a page that lists the specifics for anyone who will understand them rather than just providing us with pointless updates that consume space and induce bugs.

P.S. iOS 7 is *** on older devices, and the recent iTunes update is just…no words for that one, causing the iTunes store and App Store not to even open :/

      Okay, I’m done

      • Rustii says:

Umm, maybe if the guys that understand them know where to find them…(or maybe they do) :p

first ios 7 runs fine on my iphone 4… no problems other then the little lag because im jailbroken…(my tweaks cause it) but then again i dont expect an older device to run on the newest firmware…
second: apple is very open about what fixes they make .. its on every update (a link to a http://support.apple.com/kb/******) which tells you everything(Bug and all)…
or you could look here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222
which has every update since about 2011… yes OS X, IOS, Itunes and such…

        • JCK07115 says:

Thanks for the link to the details on Apple related updates. But regarding the fact that iOS 7 works “quite” well on your iPhone 4, you might be an exception. I am not saying it must work flawlessly on older devices but obviously that is Apple’s job, optimization to the best possible point for each device. iOS 7 differs based on each iDevice model, specifically the iPhone hence giving Apple the window to tailor each OS well per device.
P.S. Is this your wololo ID. I wanna add you as a friend, you challenged me 😛 \o/

Wololo is our our Lord and Saviour. Please do not question anything he says. Wololo is to Sony as Gaben is to valve. A god.

      • JCK07115 says:

Please don’t say that ever again, please. As a Christian, I find it very offensive. Jesus Christ is the one LORD AND SAVIOUR OF THR WORLD, not wololo or any other person.

        • anonanon says:

          @JCL07115
‘As a Christian’ Oh just shutup for christs sake.

        • Ricky D says:

As somebody that doesn’t care one way or the other maybe you shouldn’t be on the internet if you’re so easily offended. It’s pretty clear that he was joking and it’s pretty clear that you have no sense of humor

        • Ricky D says:

Don’t you think that your Christ had a sense of humor?

          • JCK07115 says:

I don’t know whether he did or not but issues like this are not to be joked with.

        • anonanon says:

Look JCK07115 – You cannot get through life expecting everyone to give you special respect, no one said anything about you personally, and you have no right, whatsoever to claim you have been offended by Badcam3’s comment, and you have even less of a right to claim just because you were offended, that it gives you the right to tell others what they can and cannot say, especially when it’s not about you or anyone personally.

Reminds me of this quote by Stephan Fry. http://puu.sh/aoMzT/cee4e3a770.jpg

          • anonanon says:

In case anyone’s interested but doesn’t want to/can’t open the image the quote goes like this

It’s now very common to hear people say, “I’m rather offended by that”, as if that gives them certain rights. It’s no more than a whine. It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has to reason to be respected as a phrase.

            “I’m offended by that.”

            Well so f*cking what?

Definitely Steven fry’s best quote, couldn’t have said it better myself.

          • anonanon says:

*it has no reason to be respected as a phrase.

      • wololo says:

        Amen.

The sad part is Sony could really put in some effort with their update and make the PS4 and Vita a whole lot better with more themes and customization, more supported video and audio formats, better organization for the homescreens and so on but instead they focus on this “improved stability” rubbish.

    • JCK07115 says:

Just as I was saying above but with apple.
P.S. Are you Hinata that responded to my article on the Somy flash sale of recent?

  7. noname says:

Sony improves the stability of their devices so often you’d think at launch those things were crashing every few minutes.

  8. anonanon says:

Still waiting on DLNA support and 3D BD playback, Xbox one already supports DLNA and it’s upcoming update will provide 3D BD playback – it’s ironic that Microsoft beat sony in integrating these features, when Sony designed DLNA and partially created the Blu-ray disc.

  9. PSPcfwDUDE says:

Gotta love that title though, gave me a good laugh! :”D

  10. shadyblue9o9 says:

WOW! im getting really upset at sony… they could at least announce some stuff… LOOK AT ALL THE APPS XBOX ONE is getting
    http://www.joystiq.com/2014/06/04/hbo-go-twitter-among-45-apps-coming-to-xbox-one-by-years-end/
    PS4?? will maybe get 3 or 4 of those … 😐

  11. stable says:

PS3’s browser is so unstable that a stability upgrade would be most welcomed there. Especially Facebook site likes to force a hard reset… It would also be nice to see PS4 users online when using PS3…

Agree 99%. HDMI link was very intermitent here, and now it works well.
