Also note will only work if your service provider allows tethering

If you need a tuto for that kind of thing stop using technology it not for you……

      +1
It’s hard to believe this thing won the tutorial contest, it’s no different from the “how to turn off your PS Vita” tutorial.

      • Tikão® says:

When I think I could have won 20 to make a tutorial that, makes me want to cry. I Not created simple tutorials like this not knowing they were needed, but it amazes me that owners PS Vita require this type of tutorial.

Pro-tips for the people who like to complain, if you don’t like the winning tutorials you have two ways to make things change:

        – Only people who submit a tutorial can actually win the contest. You cannot win the contest with “if I had known…” statements.
        – people who don’t vote cannot influence the results of the vote. But if you vote, guess what, maybe a better tutorial might win.

I am tired of people complaining about the quality of the tutorials, who are always the people who are the least involved with the contest.

        • Acid_Snake says:

I’d be more involved but the prize doesn’t call me (I don’t have a PSN account nor do I plan to make one).
As for the voting, you’re right on that, I’ll try to vote more often.

Without paying subscription ? What planet does this guy live on and where can i get free internet?
Would be better if it showed you how to hack wifi hotspots

  4. anthony says:

Only works if your provider allows tethering like rizwan said and also it will use your phones data so be carefully of that

  5. minkmendor says:

guys… this tut wont work for most people. Even tho you have tethering, PSN blocks most cell connections……

  6. Obito says:

For anyone interested, this doesn’t work in Symbian because it is ADHOC network and Vita doesn’t recognizes the network.

  7. jlo138 says:

You probably need to have your phone rooted (hacked) for this. Iphone users need jailbreak. Cell providers provide this without hack but they charge a monthly fee. I rooted my android phone I had about 4 years ago to provide wifi hotspot since I didn’t have wifi in my home. You need to have unlimited cellular data as this will eat it up fast. My provider never caught it and I used the *** out of it. It turned my 4g into wifi. And keep your phone plugged in as it was a battery drainer for me at least. And yes, the cell phone you do this with needs to have service.

    • Acid_Snake says:

You don’t need to be rooted for this, only that your phone’s wifi support it and the option to be there. My really cheap huawei phone has this thing.

    • ZgamerR says:

This is not true, please do not mislead people :/

    • Fer says:

You dont need jailbreak for this, it is supported in Iphone 4, 4s, 5 and 5s as long as your carrier allows it

    • :v says:

Unless you live on a sh*tty country were cell-phone companies takes the decision about what can you do with your phone (I can’t believe there is people who actually have to pay extra to share internet or need a rooted device to do it), it’s not necessary.
I’m guessing you’re from ‘murica or somewhere in europe, right?

    • DaVish says:

      You don’t need Root… Kurwa

  8. NNNRT says:

Did he really win a PSN card for a tutorial that needs 5 minutes? 😐 I mean my friends who have never used a Vita know they can use hotspot to tether it with their smartphone. It even works on Bluetooth.

  9. J says:

A tutorial for something that should be common knowledge, who didn’t know about this?

    • Max says:

well the new vita user are some of the guys that dont know it.

I’m one of those guys btw

    dear wololo,

i want all of ur emulator into my publishers key

and then i’ll buy a Nintendo, sega, and others as psm publishers key
my best bet is to go with retroxmb mod

u think thats capable to be ported to csharp ?
what about some tutorials about porting c#(psp homebrew) to c# (cs csharp psm mobile)

    What is a ‘smatphone’ 😮 ?

  12. C says:

When you get this set up with your service provider, they TELL you how to do it. That’s why I GOT the wifi Vita and not the 3G vita. Plus, were moving so fast onto 4g where i live that 3g is going to be obsolete in a few months.
Also, no rooting is necessary. It just has to be enabled by your ISP and paid for by you.
On another note, I can’t set up a password for my hotspot when I use my PS3 with it. For some reason my PS3 wont recognize the WPA2 PSK security. I have to give the hotspot no password when i use my PS3, but oh well. 1st world problems, right?

    • JackNJill says:

try changing your security to something ps3 could just be being picky

    • Max says:

depends on the country, in my country they give a *** and just sell the service and phone without telling what you can do

  13. KYRSp33dy says:

Like J said should be common knowledge, next time I’m going to enter in the tutorial it’s going to be “How to login to the PSN”. Hope I win XD

  14. Raymond says:

Been been Beeeen knew this already and now you decided to put this up. Since last year I learned about my hotspot on my phone. This thread shoulda been posted

  15. Nnuma says:

I have a question about the tutorial contest : the reward is it only in dollar ?

  16. Dee8282 says:

Show us how to remote play with 3g connection!!!

  17. Dilute says:

    Why did such a basic tutorial win ;_;

  18. Timber says:

    Congratulations to the winner.

Not everybody knows everything about networking etc. This won because it was voted for. Quit the whining and write your own tutorial if you think this one sucks. Whiners.

  19. yowy says:

Even a baby can do this… and for others that doesnt support tethering, download aptoide , search for foxifi and after download and install search for foxifi key. If you have a note 2 or 3 you must root your phone and install a custom firmware that supports this.
