E3: Ubisoft’s Conference Roundup
Here’s EA’s E3 conference wrap up, it includes Assassins Creed, Just Dance and also a surprise announcement, just like last year!
I managed to catch it from the beginning this time , and it definitely started off with a bang, with the intro to Far Cry 4. The antagonist seems to be pretty insane. After murdering someone, he moans about getting blood on his shoes. But doesn’t blink about having his face covered in the stuff.
Just watch the video:
Next on the screen was… Just Dance 2015.
The game was first showcased with an expected montage of a thousand screens of people dancing, letting us know that new artists are included, these are:
- Pharrell Williams
- Calvin Harris
- Ellie Goulding
- ‘and more’
There’s a new feature included in the game, called ‘community remix’ where the Kinect records you dancing and others will use your recording as the character on screen to dance from.
This can only end wrong.
They’ve also created a smartphone app, named ‘Just Dance Now’ from what I understood it as was if you have a party and all 20 people actually want to play the game, you can connect to their game and play with them, well, cue the live demonstration, 20~ people flood onto the stage, along with people in the banisters as well, all dancing with their mobile phone in their hand.
After the demonstration, Aisha Tyler announced the winner, and well, she was very surprised…..

Was it really me ?!?!
After the cringey performance of this (but not the least cringey)
The Division was after this and showed a new CG trailer, shown below. Which interestingly isn’t really as impressive as the Microsoft demo.
The Crew featured next, it was mentioned that there were no loading screens, throughout the whole game world, it showed a trailer of it going ‘coast to coast’ in a time lapse, out of the places I recognised in the trailer, there was the Grand Canyon and also Mt. Rushmore, but what was also mentioned was New York, Miami, Florida, Los Angeles and California.
That’s one helluva map.
They announced a closed Beta for July 23rd, and is for PC ONLY, along with a release date of November 11th.
After their highly anticipated game, The Crew, they moved onto Assassins Creed: Unity which was also featured in Microsoft’s conference.
They showed a different mission, more single player oriented. Also showing side missions that are available throughout the open world, which seems very alive, which is good!
What I noticed, at 1:45 before starting the murder mystery quest, rather than saying ‘start mission’ is says ‘Join mission’ possibly meaning that this is another online feature in the game where the Co-op is a part of the game
The game also got a release date of October 28th,
Shape-up; Stay up, Stay Fun
This game is another fitness game, now, before you shrug it off it actually impressed me quite a bit, and had me smiling at the screen watching it, and I forgot to take any notes about it. Good thing people upload videos!
So it takes the basic concept of exercise and transforms every type of exercise, cardio, bodyweight workout, into a game.
He showed 2 examples, one being him standing on piano keys and them needed to be hit, think of Guitar hero but your feet are the buttons, and also a push-up exercise. It looked pretty fun but equally as cringey if you ask me:
This game also amazed me enough to forget to take any notes. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Siege. This was their surprise game this year, like Division was last year, and was definitely worth the surprise. They showed an online multiplayer match of a hostage rescue/ capture (depending on your team) and seems to be pretty cool. Here’s the gameplay demo:
I’m not a fan of Counter Strike. Like, at all. And even though the new Rainbow Six looked a lot like Counter Strike turned up to 11, I still thought it looked crazy good.
