Hope you don’t mind me asking – but what benefits (Now or planned in the future) will this have over the current TN-V? Will it be possible to get PS1 games working properly (With sound) Or is that not going to happen due to the lack of ME emulation?

      this

    • fate6 says:

This can be updated while TN-V is dead, You can thank TN for giving the source to some random instead of actual devs.

    • Josuke says:

I’ll add to this, is this a straight port of the last Ark build to new exploits or is there something new and significant that we would want?

      To fate6,
Please correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t Coldbird claim that TN and Ark were now sharing code? Or was that a short lived alliance that possibly only had TN sharing old builds? Interested because I never heard anything about what TN did with the source after he left.

    • APRON-MAN says:

ARK has better compatibility with certain plugins thats all i know like CWCheat works better in ARK than in TN-V

  2. Lymus says:

the question is, will it be as comfy as TN-V

  3. Mizu says:

I’m just pleased to know ARK are working on having the XMB menu in their eCFW.

    • Acid_Snake says:

That was The Z’s assumption. We have no intention of porting the XMB to ARK for many reasons, first being that it kills the huge customization that homebrew menus give you, and secondly that it requires a lot of time and patience (it took TN about 6 montsh to get it working, I don’t have nearly that much time!).
Basically, if you want the XMB, stick to TN-V. If you want a custom menu, go with ARK.

      • hh says:

Ark rocks!! Why would anyone stick with the old XMB ? LOL PPL THIS IS THE PS VITA NOT THE PSP!!
its time we get over the psp

        • gamr13 says:

Many people still love the PS Vita, including myself. The PSP holds some titles that aren’t on the PS Vita (Unless it has eCFW/TN-V) We know obviously the PS Vita is not the PSP. It is not time we got over the PSP, not yet anyway.

  5. plz says:

Will anyone release a guide on finding a kernel exploit anytime soon?

    • Nope says:

      Nope

    • Acid_Snake says:

First, there’s no such thing as “a guide to find kernel exploits”, each kernel exploit is its own world and requires creativity and a small mistake on Sony’s part. Secondly, we have made countless blog posts explaining PSP security and how previous kernel exploits worked.

      • wuestion says:

For example i wouod like to know how do you hackers dump flash0 inside the psp emu on the vita?

        • Acid_Snake says:

There’s some code that does this once you get kernel access, I’m not sure if it’s public though, but we’ll probably make it public some time.

  6. me says:

Any chance some brave soul will port this to mystylist?

    • Chris.Beanz says:

I’m pretty sure that’s not possible with the mystylist exploit as it’s a usermode exploit and not a kernal. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

      • tjhooker73 says:

There would have to be a new kernal exploit that can be triggered with the usermode exploit or before it. Unlikely to happen.

  7. jd20dog says:

    it lives!!lol
acid is on a roll it seems
    keep the steam going

  8. kernel mode says:

    thank you ark mode

  9. dsa says:

is it anything update with this version?

  10. haha says:

Haha so how did the first hacker dump flash0? And then you guys found kernel exploits and dumped the flash0 on the newer firmware etc?

    Pro online?

  12. Acid_Snake says:

“The developers of the ARK eCFW, an alternative choice for your PS Vitas PSPemulator, are currently updating the ARK eCFW to revision 2”
The developers of ARK haven’t touched the source code for a long time. It’s qwik and me who are updating it, if it were for the original developers ARK would still be gathering dust in the farthest regions of the internet.
