Minimur, WTH Happened This Week? Driveclub Gameplay, Smash Bros 4 leaked screen & Watch_Dogs Prank!
So this week there’s been plenty of news, and if you saw the front image there’s Watch_Dogs, Playstation Now, and of course, some new PS Vita games!
PS Vita games you say? well here’s what I could find:
Hunger – Same devs as LBP Vita
Son of Scoregasm – Coming later to Linux, Mac and Windows PC, Shahid Ahmad managed to bag this one for Vita release before any other platform!
Warriors Orochi 3 – Also on PS3,PS4, Xbox One ‘This Fall’
To add to this, Mojang, developers of Minecraft recently announced a release date for the PS Vita and next-gen versions of the game, they’re coming in August and Mojang have released the improvements that each has:
Xbox One:
-Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will bring significantly bigger worlds and a greater draw distance than Xbox 360 Edition.
-It will include all the features from the most recent Xbox 360 title update.
-Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will cost $19.99.
-If you’ve bought Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition from Xbox Live Marketplace, or played online with the disc version, you will be able to upgrade to Xbox One Edition for $4.99.
You will be able to upgrade for a minimum of a year after the release date.
-Players with Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition saves will be able to import their worlds to Xbox One. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to transfer saves from Xbox One to Xbox 360. We can make worlds bigger without too much stress, but shrinking them causes all kinds of problems.
-Cross platform play will not be possible between Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
-Many, but not all, of the DLC skins and texture packs you’ve purchased for Xbox 360 Edition will be available for use in Xbox One Edition. We’d like to say all your DLC would transfer, but some of the items are trapped in licensing deals that are too boring to get into here. We’ll have more on this soon.PS3 / PS Vita:
It will include all the features from the most recent Playstation 3 version, including online play on Vita.
-This means everyone who has bought Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition from PSN will get it on Vita for free. Those fluent in Sony-speak might refer to the deal as “Cross-buy.”
-We are working closely with Sony Computer Entertainment to look into ways to enable upgrade from the Blu-ray disc version of Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition to Minecraft: Playstation 3 and Vita. We’ll have more info on this closer to release.
-Minecraft: Playstation 3 + Vita Edition will cost $19.99.
-It doesn’t matter if you buy for PS3 or Vita first, you own the game for both platforms.
-Saves are transferrable between the Playstation 3 and Vita versions of Minecraft. You will be able to craft at home on your Playstation 3, then continue on the bus/toilet with your Playstation Vita.
-All of the DLC you’ve purchased for Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition will work on Playstation 3 + Vita Edition.PS4:
-Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition will bring significantly bigger worlds and a greater draw distance than Playstation 3 + Vita Edition.
-It will include all the features from the most recent Playstation 3 version.
-Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition will cost $19.99.
-If you’ve bought Playstation 3 Edition from the Playstation Network you will be able to upgrade for $4.99.
-You will be able to upgrade for a minimum of a year after the release date.
-We are working closely with Sony Computer Entertainment to look into ways to enable upgrade from the Blu-ray disc version of Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition to Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition. We’ll have more info on this closer to release.
-Players with Playstation 3 Edition or Playstation 3 + Vita Edition saves will be able to import their worlds to Playstation 4. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to transfer your saves from —- -Playstation 4 to Playstation 3/Vita. There are technical reasons for this; we can make worlds bigger without too much stress, but shrinking them causes all kinds of problems.
-Cross-platform play will not be possible between Playstation 3 + Vita Edition and Playstation 4 Edition.
-Many, but not all, of the DLC skins and texture packs you’ve purchased for Playstation 3 Edition will be available for use in Playstation 4 Edition. We’d like to say all your DLC would transfer but some of the items are trapped in licensing deals that are too boring to get into here. We’ll have more on this soon.
My favourite quote:

For those having problems seeing what it says underneath, it says:
*Vita Edition not actually improved. Just more portable
Now, let’s talk about Playstation Now…. Now!
It’s recently been released for use on the PS4, and one user was clever enough to record 10 minutes of it and record it online. It shows him playing Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2
Interestingly enough, after he returns to his home screen The Sniper: GW2 icon is now on the Dynamic Menu, which I’m guessing means you can launch a game being streamed directly from the menu rather than going through PS Now.

Unfortunately, the user was experiencing lag, even with his 100mb connection. Even though Sony said a 5mb connection would be adequate. I wouldn’t worry too much at the moment though being as it’s still in the beta phase and a while away from being released officially
Question: In the greek alphabet, Gamma comes after beta, but is there ever a ‘Gamma phase’ in gaming?
Here’s some more PS4 news, good news in fact. The’ knowledge centre’ was updated to now say that all games, Destiny being the first will have a pre-load option being able to download the game ”up to several days’ before the release.
As for Watch_Dogs, that will not be supporting the pre-load function and will instead be available to download on the day of release at 12:01AM, unfortunately. Even so, if you’re planning on using this you’ve beaten me because I’ve pre-ordered it from Amazon. I envy you guys staying up till 3AM to play it.
Watch_Dogs, there’s definitely no denying that Ubisoft have re-started the Hype train, being as they’ve got every journalist writing about it and they’ve been chucking out a few videos themselves, the prank and Conan’s review are my favourite out of them all but there’s no denying they’re equally as awesome:
Playstation Access have done quite a bit of coverage on the game including a few videos on the map, game map and real Chigaco likeness and things you can hack. have a look at them here if you’re interested:

Driveclub, the game that quite a few have been waiting for over 6 months, but we’re finally on track. with a release date set (again) and information being released about the amount of cars (50) but unfortunately no solid date. 🙁
Next up is a bit of Nintendo news, The new Super Smash Brawl character select menu has been leaked, there’s no saying if this is real or not, but with 50 characters to choose from that does seem a bit excessive. So take this with a HUGE pinch of salt.

“In the greek alphabet, Gamma comes after beta, but is there ever a ‘Gamma phase’ in gaming?”
If you consider Gamma as the final/stable version, well yeah.
But commonly on software there are:
Nightly, Alpha and Beta (And obviously, the final/stable version
After BETA, there are sometimes “Release Candidates”
You mean Smash 4!
Yes, thanks, sorry for the typo
My mate in the uk has a us account for ps and gave it to me and I felt like no lag even though the servers are in NA.
P.s. My download is only 25mb/s and can go down to 13mb/s
No, the same devs who made LBP Vita, will be making a PS4 game called Hunger
The smash bros pics are obivously fakes
only the first ssb had those locked cases and they were at the borders, not everywhere in the middle.
Other thing, all pics don’t show the same roster, (a character left from pit appears in only one of the photos)
last thing, the background is not the same in every boxes.
Oh and sakurai said that it was useless to make 50 characters as it seems to be in this picture.
Plus the graphics look like something the Wii would be able to push, if this pic is real then they aren’t really making a big jump from Brawl to this.
Well, when I saw the image, I thought it was a capture of the 3DS version…
