Minimur, Wth Happened This Week? CoD: Advanced Warfare Trailer, Project Cars On PS4, and PS4 HDD Bay Covers!
Hi, so this week there’s a bunch of information about the next Call of Duty, including a trailer and some information, the third and final piece of DLC for The Last of Us, and a screenshot form the upcoming Tales Of Borderlands series by Telltale!
There were actually quite a few new games announced for the Vita this week, Sony had a media event and announced 12 games coming to PS4 and Vita, here they are:
- Nidhogg
- Spelunky – Coming to PS4 with new social features
- Chasm
- Skulls of the Shogun
- Source
- Axiom Verge
- Drifter
- Jamestown Plus
- Starwhal
- Escape Goat 2
- Ironclad Tactics
- Apotheon
Now that’s an impressive list.
Although I know next week won’t be like this, let’s hope there’s a few on there!
Heh, I like funny trailers.
Next up is a few screenshots and some details about Tales from Borderlands, I checked the resolution out of curiosity, and they all seem to be 2000×1124. This completely baffles me, could someone please explain why this is in such a resolution, and not a standard type like 1080, 960, or 720p?
Click on them if you want the original photo, but what’s shown below is a smaller version.

Judging by the photos, it seems they were taken from an Xbox, but last I heard Xbox One couldn’t even do 1080p, let alone 2000×1124?
But where-ever they’re from, they look pretty cool and Telltale’s addiction to the Cell-Shaded art style fits in really well here.
Some details that Tell-Tale have dropped are about the pricing, and the time-frame for when it takes place:
- The loot grabbed in Tales From the Borderlands will be available to use “in other areas of the Borderlands franchise.”
- Each episode will be $4.99, or you can buy a Season Pass to save you money.
- The choices you make will create your own version of the story across the entire season.
- The series takes place after the events of Borderlands 2.
- You’ll play through the viewpoints of Rhys, who works for Hyperion, and Fiona, a fast-talking con artist.
- Both Rhys and Fiona have a very different opinion of the events that brought them together, and the only way to find out something near to the truth is to live their lives and make your own decisions.
I do love a good dual-protagonist story!

Next up is the new trailer for this years Call Of Duty, like I mentioned last week on that mugshot, it looks really good, and I’m certainly impressed!
For those of you wondering, the guy in the suit is known as Kevin Spacey, it seems everyone else has heard of him but me, but here’s a real life comparison against him to the game:

Besides the skin tone, they’ve done a pretty good job, and I’m impressed how good the game looks.
This next piece is related to the above mini-article (or whatever you want to call it)
Tony Hawk Pro Skater developer, Neversoft, has merged with the developer infinity ward, making what the CEO of activision is calling a ‘super-studio’.
Here’s a statement from CEO Eric Hirshberg:
The impact of [Neversoft’s] 20-year run of hard work and success cannot be overstated. As already mentioned, we are merging these two very talented teams and obviously had to choose a name for the combined studio. Since the Infinity Ward brand is indelibly tied to the Call of Duty franchise, it is the sensible choice. While it will be strange to not see the Neversoft logo on future games, the important things – which are the Neversoft team’s talent, creativity, professionalism and commitment to creative excellence – all remain unchanged as part of this new chapter.
….You guys know what this means, right?
Hoverboards/ Skating minigame!
Racing fans!
So for those of you excited for DriveClub, you now have something else to be super excited about. Project Cars.
Yes, I know it was already coming out for PS4, but here’s some first screenshots along with the announcement that it will support Project Morpheus:
That’s right, Project CARS will be one of the first games on PS4 to support virtual reality via the Project Morpheus headset. Finally, you’re going to really feel what it’s like sat in the driving seat of a high performance machine as you look around the cockpit, glance left and right as you overtake an opponent, and get an exhilarating sense of speed as you scream down the finishing straight.
Here’s some beautiful screenshots of the game running on PS4:

While we’re talking about the PS4, let’s mention the hard drive bay covers Sony recently put on show to celebrate Toro’s 15th birthday, also known as the ‘Sony Cat’.
the 2 that were put on show certainly look snazzy, but there’s been no mention whether they will actually be avaliable to purchase or not.
The photo was taken by odayoshi, who managed to snap them while at the event in SCE’s HQ, in Tokyo.

Naughty Dog have been hitting the news a bit too as well for;
- Teasing a prototype
- Possible concept art
- The third DLC
The prototype tease comes from a tweet off of Bruce Straley’s twitter account;
I got goosebumps playing & talking thru a prototype a designer was sketching in yesterday! That’s how I know… #GonnaBeAwesome
— Bruce Straley (@bruce_straley) May 2, 2014
The concept art is a strange one, Marek Okon, a freelance concept artist who worked on TLoU a bit, posted the below photo to facebook.

The photo’s title is ‘Let me tease you something…. It’s coming’.
This of course blew the internet to smithereens. He later commented on the photo saying:
Lol. This is how you know you are teasing your stuff the right way
So before its gonna get blown out of proportions – its gonna be strictly personal image.
Is it about TLOU2? Not really… Maybe… Its classified ;P
But seriously its gonna be just a fan art ;]
The Third DLC pack? Well it got it’s trailerdetailing it yesterday, so here it is:
It comes with a new difficulty mode, and some new maps, along with a few new weapons too!

Many PC games, when played with a 360 controller, use the 360’s button icons.
How can you not know who Kevin Spacey is? The US’ chief export is entertainment, I’m very surprised you haven’t at least heard of him.
Also, no Reddit time? I am disappoint!
I tend to curse the Indie movement now. Mainly on Vita, though. Sony pushes more Indie ports or junk indie exclusives while we continue to miss out on quality AAA games.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy an Indie game as much as the next person, but I don’t appreciate it being the only venue Sony is willing to push and look at on the Vita now.
Western support of the Vita is insulting at best. If I wanted an Indie focused portable, I wouldn’t have bought a Vita to achieve that.
Just want that Toro cover for my PS4!
Wow you haven’t heard of Kevin Spacey?
Are you spacey? lol
Minimur12, can’t belive you haven’t seen Usual Suspects. You need to rectify that 😀
They are your prey and you are hunting them so act like it.
The laptops offer constant connectivity with Wi – Fi,
Ethernet and optional Bluetooth. All the guns seem the very same, an explosive seems
like a little firecracker, and it doesn’t matter if the audio is an one-half mile away,
or appropriate close to you, all of it sounds the exact same.
