Wololo.net’s 2014 Easter Egg Hunt: wrap up
Last month I organized a giant Easter Egg Hunt on the site: pictures of Easter Eggs containing PSN codes were hidden on this site, my twitter account, and our facebook page. In total, within three weeks, we offered $1020 in PSN codes to you guys, for a total of up to 101 lucky winners.
The contest was lots of fun to organize, and although unfortunately not everyone can win, I hope it was fun for you guys as well to participate.
Eggs were sometimes hidden in plain sight on our forum, blog, or in the /downloads section, and looked like this one. Others were sometimes a bit trickier, such as this one or this one. But you guys are clever, and in general every “tricky” egg I had posted got found within a few minutes.
Nevertheless, as I type this article, one Egg still remains to be found, and I have confirmed it is still valid. This Egg can be found on this page on our forums, and is not particularly hidden. Act fast!
The full locations of all Eggs are revealed in this post on the forum. whenever possible, I also added who redeemed it, anytime people who redeemed the eggs where nice enough to let me know about it (thanks to everyone who did this, that’s very appreciated). I will be progressively removing the eggs from the site though, in order to clean up the weird mess I splattered all around the site 🙂

would you have found how to decrypt this one? (it’s already been redeemed, don’t try too hard!)
As a webmaster, this was an interesting experiment, but I will probably won’t do this again. This was a lot of work, a lot of money, and there wasn’t any direct benefit for me doing this. As a matter of fact, this increased the load on the server and “weird” behavior on the site (people refreshing pages constantly, or scraping every single page of the site, etc…) which resulted in a huge decrease of advertising revenue throughout the month because of fraud suspicions from Google adsense. I also became the target of naysayers who couldn’t believe that a scene site would be willing to give away so much money for nothing in return. Which is too bad for them, and good for those who looked for the eggs as it meant less competition.
Anyway, it was fun, and we’ll be sure to do more giveaways whenever possible. For more free stuff, regularly check our “giveaway thread” where members of our community kindly give away digital codes for full games, DLC, etc… .
Thanks Wololo I redeemed the last code 🙂
Where was it?
God…
Did you even read the article?
I read it, and I knew it was not the footer, because it is in the whole forum .-. Also it is not on Wololo´s signature because it is on all his posts, so where?

Thanks for all the fun!
winners are more like 30 people who found everything in an hour.
still thanks for the event wololo.
A better idea maybe.. you could make file containing the the psn code. in order to get it, you have to crack the file. this way one link (the download link to the ‘to be cracked’-file is used), which should solve your google suspision problem and it relates to the blog. (It is partially about cracking afterall!)
@wololo,
next time you should make clues that we need to solve in order to progress to what we need to find. ie. footer has a clue that you need to decode that leads you to somewhere on the forum. in turn that area in the forum has something that needs to be solved and it will tell you where what you looking for is. something like a 3 step process. sounds like a lot of work but im sure the team here can come up with something along those lines.
